I just built one not too long ago for gaming and it works pretty well! I got 2 X5690s, 160 gigs of ram and an AMD RX 6800. Would definitely recommend if you can get the parts for cheap
I have still have 6x T710s in production running VMs in not so demanding environments. Domain controllers, ERP, CRM, DMS, AMS and other business applications. I have also 3x T420, 2x ML150 gen9 and an ML350 gen9. And that's more or less my fleet. Not planning on decommissioning any of my machines any time soon.
Just Get Z490 install 10gen intel and your done
My camera was on it way out, was having a ton of issues with it. Have a new one on the way though!
Did you record this vid with a potato?
Better frame rate next time please
hmm you mean 256 mb ram (in description you got mistake)
Oops, thanks for letting me know. Has been corrected
what the fastest chip set you can run on one of these?
The Xeon X5690. I have two of them in this build, runs great. they are 6 core, 12 thread each running at 3.46Ghz
😜 'Promo SM'
I just built one as a home server! 2 Xeon 6 cores, 96 gb ram and I threw in an rx580 because that’s what I had laying around. It’s been doing great!
been using mine for years, recently started not wanting to post and looping went back to A09 bios and it post every time now. Windows server 2022 upgraded on it as well still trucking
what is the name of the bracket that holds the raid controller? And where can I get one for my T710?
The Part# is J315H. I found a few on ebay for fairly cheap. I'm sure you would be able to fine one new if that's the route you want to go.
Did you know if this Quadro are compatible with V-ray?
I'm not sure to be honest. These card ended up not working properly, so I don't have anything to test with.
Can I replace the power supply with any power supply or does it have to be a HP power supply?
As long as it had the correct connections on the power supply, you'll be fine using another brand. I have replaced a power supply in another server similar to this one in the past.
Can i replace psu unit with atx psu?and can you tell me pin out correctly connection?thank’s

For anyone who is thinking of upgrading the video card on these... AMD and NVIDIA changed the way their GPU Bios works. If you have an machine based on first gen i series (like this T7500) then AMD R and RX cards, as well as NVIDIA RTX cards will possibly cause boot issues because of the incompatibility with the legacy PC BIOS. Those cards are designed for PC with UEFI Bios. Some manufactures modded their GPU Bios so that they will work in older machines but if your machine goes crazy after changing the video card this is a place to start.
I have never experienced this issue but will keep it in mind. What GPU did you have this problem with? Is there a workaround? Thanks!
@@bangdollarsign In mine as well as my friends T7500 we had issues with on RX 550, and also two different RX 570 cards. I also know I have a family member that had this issue on a x58 based Dell using a RX 580 GPU and when I gave him a HD series card it worked again. These video cards all worked just fine in UEFI machines.
I had a similar one, dual X5680 CPU, 48GB, GTX 1060 6GB, PCIe USB 3.0, PCI Wifi N 150Mbps , PCIe SATA III bootable adapter. It had I think 4x 500GB SATA HDD in it. I added in a Lightscribe DVD Burner and a 240GB SATA III boot drive. I gave it to my cousin when she needed a computer for work. She put a 1TB SSD into it and 4x 2TB HDD and also added in a PCIe soundcard and a Bluray Burner.
Are you not worried about single core performance or power consumption? Those x5000 xeons are getting a bit long in the tooth IMO.
No, not necessarily. I was more of a "can it be done and function as an everyday desktop" project. But due to the noise output, it did get a bit annoying.
Show me a game that two x 5590 can't run.... I'll wait
I have a question, how loud is it?
It's not overbearing, but the fans are definitely noticeable. You get used to it after a while. If you've ever been around an A/C window unit, it's comparable to that.
@Lloyd Source Entertainment hmmm, nope. We don't have those here in the Netherlands. I have a hp proliant ml150 g6 right now. But that one is LOUD.
The extra connector is for a G-sync card, to sync external screens and do stereo 3d.
PC monstro!!!
Am anxious to watch both videos of this build but, first, may I ask if you've had any issues since the build with the PSU causing issues? I've been told by a few people that a standard ATX PSU will cause issues. I've used one on mine to test and it does boot and run well but I didn't have it on for very long. I was only testing because the OEM PSU met it's demise recently. I'd prefer to replace with standard PSU as well but no one can seem to tell me what wattage I'd need or if it will even work.
Also, you mentioned you have an 850 watt power supply in it, and I noticed it is modular, but may I ask what brand and model it is?
I have a Segotep SG 950G power supply in it. I haven't seen any issues out of it yet. I only have kept it up and running for about 3-4 days at a time and have had it under heavy loads for about 30 minutes at a time. So far, so good.
@@lloydsourceentertainment Thanks VERY much for the reply. Have been on the fence about whether to replace with another OEM supply or a standard ATX but if you aren't having any issues and it boots fine, then that is very good to know. Especially since standard ATX PSUs are much easier to come by.
@@lloydsourceentertainment hey bro can you please help me i got error in the second motherboard (the small one / riser motherboard) when i power up in the frist of the day it keep beep like this 1.3.2 (times) and after some times power off and on. it workking fine and when i enter bios system board i see cpu 1 and cpu 2 and in device manger i got 16 prossesor ( i think it therads bc 1 of the cpu got 8) but in cpu-z it only got 1 socket and in my pc properties it not say (2 cpu) and the cpu work fine i transform from mother board 2 to motherboard 1 and it work the issuse not in cpu idk what this proplem can you pls help me :(
These use a standard ATX power supply, the only issue that is that the original PSU had VERY long cables and I had to buy extensions for my EPS 8Pin (AKA Xeon) connectors when I installed a 1300w EVGA SuperNova. I ran the cables under the motherboard though as it originally had so that was why.
muito bom!!!
Вот это я понимаю сервер)
Great buddy i have t5500 with xeon x5650 and now i am going t7500 dual x x5680 + gtx 9602gb because i have this card so its great idea or not !!
I have a T7500 with dual X5680, 48GB (4GBx12), Radeon HD6970 2GB GDDR5. It makes a nice Linux computer.
Had one of these for years. The thing is LOUD.
It is, surprised me at how loud it can get!
They can yea.
these are actually way quieter than a normal server lol
hey man. how to enable flash drive in dell precision t7500 bios? could you make a separate vid on just that alone? that would make good content for other users such as myself. or maybe you could just reply with a comment instead? which ever would be nice. these t7500 are a BEAST!
I'd be glad to! But to be clear, you are talking about usb flash drives, correct?
@@lloydsourceentertainment yes i'm talking about usb flash drives so that i can boot from it. say if i need to reinstall windows, i will just use the windows 10 that's on the flash drive. but i need to know how to set it up in the BIOS. u ran windows from a flash drive in your video.
@@lloydsourceentertainment i subbed to your channel btw.
@@stevehill666 Thanks! I'm plan on starting on the video this week for you, hoping to get it uploaded next week.
@@lloydsourceentertainment ok man. i will be waiting on your vid. btw. what BIOS version are u using? i have version A18 latest installed/updated. not sure if that's why i am unable to boot from a usb. thanks for reply.
I broke my psu putting one of these cards in my pc
For some reason they kept frying the CPU, multiple. Think it had something to do with the motherboard. I'm currently reapplying the thermal paste and pads on both of the cards and plan on using them in another build! Should be posting that soon...
@@lloydsourceentertainment I found out my PSU was just fine but my motherboard however was not.
