The rod was a Lucky Craft ESG II they are no longer made and the reel was a Shimano Static 3000

Raney was using a Lucky Craft Bank Beater 8” with a Team Daiwa Luna 253.
That was the flounder not a halibut
fish was not hooked in the mouth . thats illegal .

@@halibutsurfderby3367 Yes!!!!! Thanks. I'm trying to find that rod now. Do you know what model. Couldn't find it on Daiwa. I have a baitcasting rod by shimano but I think it must be too heavy because the butt section is really long compared to this rod. I think mine is an inshore rod.

What size split rings do u use
I use a #2 some lures like the Surf Pointer 115 come with a #1.
