Jesmonite AC100 vs AC730
Переглядів 15 тис.2 роки тому
Claire is back with a handy comparison of Jesmonite AC100 and AC730! Jesmonite AC730 is very different to the AC100 but just as beautiful! It has a longer work time and cures in around 4 hours. It is also weatherproof, heatproof and non-combustible. Most excitingly though is that gorgeous texture ready to be revealed by acid etch or white vinegar. Stunning! Have you tried both yet? Which do you...

Jesmonite pigments: Every colour
Переглядів 8 тис.3 роки тому
We sent Claire at Claire's Crafty Corner some Jesmonite pigments to complete her collection, and here is the result! As Claire says, you can vary the amount of pigment you use to get different intensities of colour. 2% pigment will give you the most intense colour (for example, 2g of pigment in a 100g coaster.) You can also mix pigments together for an infinite range of colours! Let us know in ...

Переглядів 1,7 тис.3 роки тому
We're excited to share this video from Claire's Crafty Corner! We sent Claire some of our Jesmonite Retarder to play with, and you'll see just how effective she found it 😂. The thing we love about Claire's videos is her willingness to share her mistakes as well as her wins, and you'll see that she went a little overboard with the retarder! If you're trying it yourself, you'll want to use 2-10g ...

Is it a must to etch them after Incase you don't want the gritty sandy texture?
But this video doesn't tell me how much using the actual amount of recommended retarder will increase the time by. Could we have a more scientifically accurate video please? (Nothing against Claire, she's fantastic, but its really hard to find this specific information out there in video form).
Bonjour, quel est le produit idéal pour imperméabiliser s’il vous plaît ?
love this! very helpful! How do you scale the drops though? to achieve the same color but with more product? thank you
How about deep molds?
why are you lying and giving wrong information. because of your video I used a whole bottle of resin and without getting results. everything I bought went straight to hell.
You’re great 👍. Just thought I’d check out with you before I opened my bottle of Retarder 😂Super helpful and fun review! Keep up the good work xxx
Which liquid u r using with this powder? Is this water ? Or something else?
Does the AC730 have to be etched? I like the smooth finish vs the stone texture. I'm thinking of using this for candle vessels. Please let me know if possible and thank you :)
I'll definitely smash
What would you suggest as the perfect cookie color please?
Jesmonite calculator never gives me enough for my mould that I’m filling. And it’s always thicker than in the videos and I have checked my calculations, all spot on! Sets very quick. I wonder if this powder has a expiry date maybe that’s why it’s thick.
I called them today and was told 6 month shelf life for the powder. Wish I knew earlier I’ve had to chuck 20kg away. Too thick and simply not setting
wow!! loved watching this!
This sounds like Claire lol but this turned out cool can wait to try
Where can i by Kit for beginners?
I know “drops” aren’t the best measuring method, but I’ve tried 50 drops of white for a small tray mold and still can’t get it to turn the natural beige color to a white.
Do you have a video on how you sealed your jesmonite?
Beautiful explanation of these 🎉❤
How much pigment used? I try the yellow oxyde and my pot dont set
Hi, Thanks for the video. Could you tell me - How to Calculate Mould Volumes for Jesmonite AC730.
Hi, is there a certain formula to use for AC730 to work out exact measurements for different molds?
Thank you for your colors tutorial :) love it
Are you using jesmonite to spray, or using paint to spray onto the jesmonite rocks?
Can you electric whisk it ?
Hi.Claire, loving your videos :) Can I just double check the ratios with you, you have recommended 2-8% that meaning 2g out of every hundred. Other sites say 2-8 grams per kilo meaning 2 grams per thousand grams. Hope that makes sense, just checking as I think I over did the retarder the other day 😝 Absolutely love your videos and warm personality 🥰
So why are you doing it? Wouldn’t spraying with paint be cheaper?
So are you spray painting onto rocks made of Jesmonite or are you spraying thinned Jesmonite onto rocks made of styrofoam or something else?
How soon is soon? I would love to add this to my Jesmonite creations.
Hi there And what is the difference with jesomite Ac300?
what powder is meant here? is cement powder white or not? if not then what?
Where exactly can I buy jesmonite AC 100
I mixed 100 grams of liquid with 250 grams of powder, mixed it for around a minut and I didn't get to use the product as it cured after a few seconds, I am really confused :-(
Hi Moniqua, that does seem very quick! If you'd like to chat about it, you can use the WhatsApp link on our website - Jo
hi......can i use a wax sealant?....,thanjs clare!
Hi Sarah, wax sealers can give a really nice finish, but they tend not to offer as much protection against stains and water marking. Depending on what it will be used for, you may want a more heavy duty sealer
Yes 🙌 very very helpful. Thank you
Do u ship to usa?
Hi Mirna, we don't ship the the US. you can find a list of Jesmonite's distributors on their website 🙂
Where do u find ac730 in usa?
You can found it at Amazon
Hello, thank you for your lovely videos..it really helps a lot.May I know if you use a wet sanding paper or a wet/dry one? Also can I use an electric sander with wet sanding paper?I have a small mouse sander and find it difficult to sand large terrazzo pots but I still dont know if i can use my mouse sander with my dry sand papers😏
So glad they help! We always prefer wet sanding for a smoother finish (and you can wash and reuse the same piece as you go!) We wouldn't recommend using anything electrical around water for safety reasons, but check with the manufacturer if you're ever in doubt. You could try using a dry sand with your sander at first, then refine with wet sandpaper by hand after 🙂
what u mean not good for candle vesiles? can u put candles in the a100? i though that was what some od the molds were for the have candles stand in them
Hi Vicki. It gets a little complicated, but AC730 is 'non-combustable', meaning it does not burn, whereas AC100 is 'fire resistant', so while it won't catch fire easily, it would combust in a fire. We'd always advise using AC730 for candle vessels, and to research safety requirements if you're making products to sell.
@@polysil5999 i just want to make a holder to stand the candle in amd light it that way. not like pour wax in the pot and use it that way
@@starrspoterOur advice would always be to err on the side of caution, but use your own judgement and always make sure you're aware of any regulations if you're selling them 🙂
Love the colours & can I ask I’m new to jesmonite & watched most of your videos. Can I ask I get loads of pin holes in bottom but only after sanding. I sand straight away is this my problem should I wait the 24hrs? Will it reduce the pin holes🙏
Hi Kathy, thanks for watching! The little pinholes are tiny bubbles that haven't quite made it to the surface and are only revealed after sanding. There are things you can do to reduce them, though: 1. Tap and vibrate your mould for as long as you can to help the bubbles to the surface 2. Add a couple of drops of Jesmonite retarder. This thins the liquid a little, allowing more bubbles to escape and gives you much more time to tap before it sets 3. Pour your Jesmonite in a slow thin stream, this allows the bubbles to pop on the way down 4. Use a cocktail stick to pop any visible bubbles. Waiting longer to sand probably won't make a difference, as the bubbles can only escape at the liquid stage. Hope this helps! 🙂
Beautiful, love the colours, look forward to future videos 😊
Thanks so much! Let us know if there's anything you'd like to see 😊
Great video, great product. So glad we have the option to slow down the hardening time so we can get more space and opportunity to be creative with colours. Especial with larger deeper set molds like pyramids etc. Exciting. I am very new to Jesmonite, and was contemplating working with a little cement, as well as resin. Now I am really keen to find out about this eco friendly, bio-degradable, easy to use, natural looking casting material through direct experience and person play. It is bringing out the inner child in me, and the creative adult I didn’t really know within me? So good to discover Polysil in the UK. And Claire, your energy is so vibrant and infectious too. Thank you for the free education. 🔮✨💫
It makes such a difference, and a bottle lasts so long. So glad you've found that spark of creative joy! ✨️
Hi ! Thank you for your great video ! Does AC730 always need to be etched ?
Hi Cecile, no, you can leave ac730 unetched!
Wow this looks pretty amazing. Love liquid metal. Great it works with Jesmonite too ☺️
Yes it does!
Hello, what PPE is needed using Jesmonite? Just gloves? I'm excited to try this!
As far as I know, yes. Is eco-friendly, non-toxic, water based. You can you a mask as well if you want when you mix the powder...
How do you do the marble effect?
We have a video on this coming very soon!
sounds excitinggggg
Very exciting 🙌🙌🙌
Can't wait to show you more!
Clare?!😁 Quick question, do you know if you can use the AC730 sealer on AC100 products or do I need to buy the correct one? I have loads of the AC730 and it is so expensive.
It's a really good question, and the honest answer is, we haven't tried! Definitely one for future experiments!
Very informative! Thank you.
So glad you found it helpful 😊
How much Jesmonite were you using as the base? And thank you for the great videos!
Claire tells us that each heart takes about 12g of Jesmonite, so 36g at a time to make three 🙂
