Where do people get the idea that the US slavery laws were race based? Other laws were, but it was legal for any free man or woman of any race to own slaves of any race. Irish people were common in the US slave trade and there were black slave owners for example. It was justified by and based off of parts of each kind of biblical slavery. Now Biblical slavery is race based. Leviticus 25 39-43 makes a clear distinction between native Israelites selling themselves into debt slavery. It says you must treat them well. But Leviticus 25 44-46 establishes that non isrealites are just plain old chattel slaves. Do with them as you will for their life. No protections, no rights, just full blown slavery. The new testament never condemns slavery either. It in fact reiterates the importance of being submissive and respectful of your owner, especially if they are a Christian. Thats an endorsement of slavery. So in both old and new testaments we see explicitly endorsements of chattel slavery.

The bible explicitly promotes chattel slavery, not just indentured servitude. Not only that but it gives instructions on how to turn your hebrew indentured servant into a chattel slavt by holding his slave wife and kids hostage. Exodus 21 2-6. Exodus 21 7 says hebrew women sold dont go free like the men do after 6 years. Them and their kids are slaves for life. 21 20-21 says you can beat your hebrew slaves nearly to death. Sure later in 21 it says if you knock out a tooth or an eye the slave is to be freed. Doesn't make this not chattel slavery. In Leviticus 25 44-46 it establishes that foreign slaves can be bought and passed down because they are property. It does also say that ypu cant rule over hebrews ruthlessly implying that you can be ruthless with your nonhebrew slaves. So yes, the bible does absolutely promote slavery.

@ Benjamin you just proved it to me you don't have the holy Spirit. you never met the living Jesus Christ. God does not dwell in temples made with hands. He dwells in his children the ones with the holy Spirit in them. If you would have known this and had the holy Spirit you would never go to the devil's churches.
