The end of this video is confusing to me. "Imagine finding Thompson for a 1-timer or Cozens in the slot" ... Helenius is going to be developed as a center, he wouldn't be playing with either of those players. On top of that if he were going to a wing spot, is he's really going to be better on the wing at 18 than Benson, Quinn, Tuch, or Peterka? I am late to this video but Helenius isn't making the Sabres and will be in the AHL. There is a chance injuries allow him to get some NHL time but he is likely behind Kulich and Rosen currently. Helenius had almost a 0% chance to make the Sabres and that is as it should be. For the eventual comment of "but Benson!" ppl need to stop thinking that Zach Benson is your average early teens draft pick. Zach Benson should have been drafted top 5 in a deep draft. I am excited for Helenius but he will need at least 1 if not 2 years in the AHL.

Two things : One, I think teams should have the player rights til their RFA status is supposed to expire in the pros. Two, Philly was dumb not to give him the contract. These organizations have to understand that prospects have more leverage than ever, fair or not, especially ones coming from the NCAA.

I'm a huge Islanders fan. Eiserman probably won't be on the team until 2026-27 at the earliest. He's going to Boston University this year so obviously he has not signed his ELC. It's going to be a while before he plays in the NHL full time.

I feel like some players should not be expected to be two way fowards or 200 foot players. Some like Zegras, Laine, Caufield, etc are meant to shine offensively and bring fans out of their seats with their plays and shot. I'm sure Zegras will be fine if people can appreciate him for what he is, a creative and ecxiting young player who make spectacular plays!

Kids do stupid things it’s not that deep

Tavares would have had his jersey retired with the rest of the Islander greats, but wouldn’t have been close to the greatest Islander of all time when guys like Trottier, Bossy, Potvin, Gillies, and Smith played and won 4 Cups for them. He also would have probably made more money on LI than in Toronto. I wasn’t happy how he left but understand why he left. In the end, it worked out for the Islanders, not so much for Toronto, and I definitely don’t want him back at any price. Good riddance Pajama Boy!

The Islanders have been better without him. Stripped of his captaincy, I’d say karma has a way of working itself out.

Still underrated, he is number 5 center according to nhl network and auston matthews is number 3 holy thats criminal, i get that leon is number 4 he is hof talent but matthews give me a break, matthews is top 5 center but not top 3.

Zach Benson is 5'9" 165lbs, he turned heads in camp and was given a shot at the NHL. He took advantage and stayed with the club all season. Helenius is 5'11" but at 190lbs he is a strong 5'11". If he does well in camp I say give him the same opportunity they gave Benson last season. Let him play with the club for a few games to start the season and see how he adjusts to it.
