Thank you AMR, fantastic demo day This video is just a quick on to thank AMR Motorcycles on Hillington for putting on such a fantastic demo day back in July. I got the chance to ride 4 bikes (videos of them on my channel) and have a look about the showroom. AMT stock CF Moto, Royal Enfield, Moto Guzzi, Aprillia and a few more brands. Well worth a visit! Thanks guys If you would like to support ...

Moto Guzzi V7 Stone, demo day ride I recently attended a demo day put on by AMR motorcycle in Hillington, Glasgow. I had the opportunity to ride a few bikes and the Moto Guzzi V7was one of those bikes. The demo ride was a guided route in a small group of other riders who were all on different bikes. I only had about 30 minutes on each bike so its not enough time for a full review. This video is...

Cracking job. I've just taken delivery of an ebay bargain (£24 for the 30lt), but no fitting guidance. Thank you for sharing your experience 👍🏼
Glad it helped. Thanks for watching.
Mine stays on . How do I turn this off ?
Thanks for watching, mine goes off with the ignition key. It’s wired into a switched live
Different bike from mine (BMW G310GS) but how much difficulty did you have finding an accessory cable (or did you not connect to accessory cable for purposes of review?). I had difficulty slotting in the connection to the screen also. Took a good shove.
Thanks for watching. I didn’t connect the accessory cable in this review video. I’m not familiar with your bike so I can’t advise unfortunately. Ride safe.
It's better carpuride or lamtto?
Thanks for watching. I prefer the Carpuride but they do similar things.
This proves my theory of how dickish bikers can be
How so. 🤷♂️
Beautiful, not done that before. Looks a great road to ride
Thanks 👍
Don’t think I’ve been there. Great scenery.
Electric brae on a sunny day, there's really nothing more to say. You think you're going up but you're really going down, think you're in the trough when you're really up the crown. 😂
It's a lovely stretch of coast road here mate, think I've only ever done it the opposite direction though! 😎✌️
Thermals on underneath?
Just the trousers. I didn’t need my heated jacket. 🤣
Cracking views there Al
Thanks for watching. It’s a nice bit of road.
@ yes Al, it certainly is, morose when the sky is clear and the sun is shining
Nice video - I do like down the ayrshire coast - both on the bicycle, and more recently on the motorbike. I'll be using the bike to commute for as much as I can over the winter, but will swap to the car and/or bus if it gets really nasty weather. I do need to keep my practise up though, so I can hopefully go through my DAS next year.
Thanks for watching. It sounds like you’re making the most of the bike. I hope the weather stays decent for a while before the salt goes down. Ride safe!
Al, noticed you've got the DJI remote, still haven't managed to get mine to connect to both Action 4 cameras at the same time! Got any tips?!
Thanks for watching. I didn’t have any problems connecting it, make sure they are beside each other first time. Other that that I don’t know what could be causing the issue. Sorry. Ride safe!
No worries, shouldn’t be tricky!
I wave at everyone...Besides the Delivery moped mob...Although being a GS rider I'm supposedly not meant to wave at anyone!!! 😮🤣👍 Hopefully see you out again this year buddy & we'll talk wild camping spots! 😉👍
The white car let the van out. He was being a polite and considerate driver
Thanks for watching. I’m not so sure, I had been behind the white car for a while. It was very slow and hesitant.
There's always a bus! 😂 I keep mine ready to go, living in the tropical south we can get out a bit more than you's can up north. 😂😂 Stay safe mate 👍
Thanks for watching!
A gritter drove by my house yesterday. Not spreading but it was depressing to see. Summer has gone. 😢
Nice vid. I’ll be riding right through the winter 🥶 😂
My bike will be ready to go in case of a decent day. Ride safe over the winter!!!!
watching this while having dinner is the nicest experience, nice vid u got one more sub
Thanks for the sub. Ride safe!
Nice one mate. I’m still taking bike to work until the gritters are out.
Are you still using the DJI Mic 2? Thinking about getting one for my Insta360 X3! Your audio gives me hope! G'Day from Australia!
Thanks for watching, yes I am still using the DJI Mic 2 paired to my Action 4. I have the insta X 4 but not tried pairing the mix to it. I may try that. Ride safe.
@@althescottishbiker Hey thank's so much for your reply - I can't see the audio being any different really... I just don't want to run a 2nd camera for audio if I can use a Bluetooth mic to the Insta360!
An everyday occurrence several times on each journey, personally I'm tired of saving others from high insurance premiums and helping them keep their licences.
There was another 2 incidents of note on this ride. People need to pay more attention to their surroundings.
If he'd rushed like you wanted him/her to there would have been a collision with the white van. Maybe the MG flashed the van out.
@@deandeany911 thanks for watching. I hardly wanted the driver to rush, you can see my speedometer is 20 mph. Maybe they did flash them out, thats not driving to the highway code. If everyone paid more attention and stuck to the rules the road would be a safer place. Ride safe.
@althescottishbiker Thank you for a grown up reply. Things get ugly on here with opinions. And that's all they are in reality. You ride safe too. I can see you are experienced. It's just ashame others aren't so. Some people make mistakes. We are only human. Others drive like melts and others seem to pay the consequences. Take care. 👍
Hi, How do you get it to record videos of the Front & Back cameras while driving please? Thanks
It’s automatic. As soon as the unit powers up it starts recording. Ride safe
Nice and clear video. where do you get square bracket from 9:58 ? I have W502 but unsure if origin bracket work with W603.
Thanks for watching. I got the bracket from a website Matt-adventure it works with my W702 and W603.
Thank you for your very interesting video. My question is if you can put a card with more capacity. ? I put in a 256gb card but it doesn't recognize it and says in the configuration that it is abnormal. Can you help me or you know what kind of SD card is the correct ?
Thanks for watching. I have not changed from the pre installed card, I believe 64gb is as big as it will take. Maybe best to reach out to support by email.
Moto Guzzi !!!!
Opinions! Always diverse. I purchased a V7 850 stone 18m ago. At first I thought 'what have I done!' The steering seemed over light and the gear box clunked agriculturally through the first 3 gears, wasn't sure about the offset instruments or the matt paint finish. However after about 700 miles it all clicked. A small dart screen takes all the wind pressure of your chest, the offset on the instruments allows your phone to be mounted on the right without obscuring anything, practice with the shift makes it silent 'mostly' and the finish is of good quality. Judicious use of ACF50 means she comes up like brand new after 7000 miles and two European tours. I own a Ducati sports bike, which I love in small doses... guess which bike gets used the most! A neo retro real world motorcycle for modern times.
Thanks for watching. Interesting comments, I am glad the bike grew on you! Ride safe.
Hi, you don't change position of turn signal, is it ?
Thanks for watching. There is an adapter supplied to move the turn signals further back. I didn’t use it. Ride safe.
Yes I know there is an adatterà but I don t like idea of move the turns
@@francescocacciuttolo7071 I didn’t move them. It’s fine.
If you intend to use the V35 panniers, which are apparently longer than some of the aluminum ones, you’ll need to move the turn signals. Being used to vintage bikes I’ve found turn signal mounts are one of the items that modern design has made more complex and fiddley to extricate. There is at least one UA-cam vid that demonstrates the procedure. My installation is on a new NX500, which I am loving. Same as the CB500x from headstock back.
Thanks for the review. You mentioned being able to get your feet down, could you plant flat on the ground?
Thanks for watching. Yes very easy to get my feet down on this bike. Ride safe
I am going to be moving to scotland so what would be your tips regarding snow and whether to leave it in the snow outside or no? i am extremely inexperienced with snow 😭
Where about in Scotland? Snow is actually pretty rare in most places, unless your in some of the higher areas of the Highlands. If it Glasgow, Edinburgh or the rest of the central belt I wouldn’t worry about snow. I would be more worried about the salt put down on the roads during the winter. If it’s a daily rider you’re going to want to cover it some kind of anti corrosion protection and wash it down very often! Ride safe
@@althescottishbiker thank you so much, man I swear I've seen some videos of snowy glasglow but didn't know that it isn't that prominent, thank you!
Now there's a conundrum, because I didn't want to thumbs up the bike this video didn't get a thumbs up (sorry). Many people are raving about these bikes and they are a tempting proposition as far as value for money goes. Yet even with their popularity RE bikes fall flat on their face regarding trade in prices. It wouldn't be my choice, I've lost enough swapping sought after bikes over the years, in the end it's your decision to make 🙄🤔
I’m not buying one, just a thumbs up if I think it looks cool. Trade in prices for anything have gone through the floor. I doubt I will ever buy a new bike again. Used is the way to go.
would have been nice to see some of your demo rides...
All the videos are on my channel. Thanks for watching.
Can this be used as a beginner motorcycle?
Thanks for watching. Yes, this would make a good first bike. Well balanced and easy power for a beginners
I honestly never understand the comparisons to Enfields and their price. It is £8200 but it is an 850 not a 650 , it does give you 65 bhp not 47 and it is a shaft drive bike. it also is an very characterful bike as opposed to something that has the personality of a Honda 400 Superdream ie the Enfield.
Thanks for watching. I didn’t make a direct comparison, I said if I was after a bike of that style I would probably take a RE. They are both very different bikes. Ride safe.
@@althescottishbiker Yes ,one is a bland 650 parallel twin and the other is a Moto Guzzi
Thanks for stopping by! Feel free to drop by and vlog on any of our demo fleet whenever you get the chance to!
Thanks. I would love to.
I missed that due to other commitments, but would like have been there :)
Thanks for watching. It was a good day, I would guess they will do another next year. Ride safe.
You were definitely busy that day lol.
Yip, it was good.
IMO Anything they put this fine looking engine in definitely appeals to me Al,But it's all about how they ride! 👍 1 day I'll go test ride their V85TT model & see if I made a mistake buying my F800GS,although hopefully not or that'll cost me to swap!!! 😂✌️
Maybe it could be replacement for the GS, when the time comes.
Great short review! One question, did the dry clutch bother you at all? Did you have to adapt to it in any way?
Thanks for watching. No, I didn’t adapt anything and the clutch didn’t bother me. Ride safe
Great video, had a notion for the MT800 Explore as a second bike, maybe next year :)
Thanks for watching. It’s a fun bike, pretty quick. Ride safe.
It's not the Chineseness of the bike I would be worried about; more the KTMness. I would have no problem with a Chinese Honda. If I was going to buy one of those CF Moto's; frequent oil changes (say every 5000km) would be in order to help make up for any possible topend weakness. Engineer brother and 890 owner agrees. His KTM is in excellent condition . No camshaft problems whatsoever. KTM's are very high compression, more highly stressed engines.
Thanks for watching. Frequent oil changes is a sensible precaution. I think there is a lot of bias against these bikes, time will tell if that subsidies. Ride safe.
What country makes the product?
Thanks for watching. Made in China, build quality seemed good. Ride safe
It would be good to explain why you don't like it. Simply saying "it's not for me" is not super helpful.
Thanks for watching. There nothing wrong with it but it didn’t excite me at all. In a 30 minute test ride there isn’t really enough time for anything other than a first impression. Ride safe.
I bought one new with no test ride and took me a fair while to get used to it, but now have covered 7000 miles in just over a year I would not change it, brilliant bike with low maintenance & it is different, it stands out in a crowd
Thanks for watching. You’re right, it stands out. I haven’t seen many on the road. The shaft drive is a big plus point. Ride safe.
How Much FFS ?
Prices change all the time. Best to look on the app for current cost.
"GOOTSAY" ma man!!!!
Thanks for watching, I don’t know what you mean? 🤷♂️
I test rode one of these the other month & loved it,the styling, the character, the low seat,so much so that I will be ordering the v7 special edition very soon.
Thanks for watching. It’s a lovely looking bike, sadly it wasn’t for me. Ride safe.
I'm waiting for my Special Edition to be ready some time this week!
@@dankirley4507 nice, I hope you love it. Ride safe!
“It’s Alive!” I’m back to riding after a 25+ year break and the bike I chose to buy was the Moto Guzzi V7 850 Stone in black. A elegant, tech-light, characterful, V twin, shaft-driven thing of beauty. Feel that rumble! 😃
Thanks for watching. I’m glad you’re happy with your buy. The shaft drive is a big bonus! Ride safe!
"......easily through traffic...." ..... WHAT TRAFFIC it goes easily through... ⁉⁉⁉⁉🤣🤣
Thanks for watching. 🤣
I had an 80's BMW RT 80 for 10 years, so I bonded with the V7 immediately; it's everything I liked about my old BMW, except better in every way. More power, more comfort, vastly better handling; it's just a joy to ride especially in the tight mountain twisties on the Gold River Road here on Vancouver Island. Fifth gear is just perfection on a mountain highway. Perfect power and compression braking for maximum effortless control. My 71 year old knees also love that shaft drive!
Thanks for watching. It sound like the bike is perfect for you. I’m away to google Gold River Road. Ride safe.
Absolutely true. If you compare it to a 1970 /5 or later /6 BMW you have the experience of a modern Moto Guzzi. Except the M-G is better, as you would expect after 50 years of developments, than the BMW. New BMWs just are not like this anymore.
