Canning Blackberry Jam

Water bath canning freshly juiced blackberries. We used a Victorio food mill to strain them and superstar the seeds from the pulp, then processed in wide mouth half pint jars.

Turkey Poult Hatch Day!!
Переглядів 1908 років тому
We purchased twenty eggs from a breeder in the area, and after a long 28 days of waiting the poults are here! 14 out of the 20 were fertile, and out of that 14 we had 12 make it full term and hatch successfully.
Out of the Brooder!

Introducing the New Turkey Tom into the Flock
Переглядів 35 тис.8 років тому
Today we put our new turkey tom into the run with the rest of the flock. The pre existing rooster and him had a bit of a tussle for dominance, but neither were injured any and it was necessary to let it happen to maintain a happy flock where everyone knows their place. Now they're all getting along fabulously.
Baby Chicks

We've hatched lots of babies out here on the homestead, with plenty more to go.
Thinking bout putting heater pad underneath brooder
THEY ARE SO CUTEEEEE
Oh my god I love their little postures they are so funny!! Wiyh the tail fan and the big wings 😭😆 This is adorable!
They seemed to be holding a beauty pageant! 😂
How old are these babies?
They'll soon be in the oven.
Clearly people in the comment section have no clue about pecking orders and how they’re established. Turkeys are docile and roosters just learn to respect the larger animal. Thank you for posting the reality of keeping a mixed flock and how life on the farm is. Internet idiots are the worst
Does anyone know what color theses guys turn into as adults? The yellowish brown polts??
Yes, the male instinct begins at an early age.
Seus imbecis. Por que não entram em uma jaula com uma onça? A veríamos se teriam razões pra rir. I M B E C I I I I S!!
lol
Where do these bozos come from? I never kept chicken and even i know having them figure out a pecking order is a normal and important process. I also don't think it's wrong to watch them and get some sort of entertainment from it since it happens anyways. It's not like it's illegal chicken fighting or something. You guys need to grow up, seriously.
I'm getting turned on with her calling
Good job Turkey! Kill that stupid rooster
Please read a book or something on how to keep and care for pet animals PROPERLY! This is animal abuse!
that s not funny, if you had any idea about farming you d know you never put similar animals of very much different sizes LOCKED up in an area, it s basically animal torture and you re laughing.
One looks like a little silky chicken.
Wow they just watch and laugh at this… some people should not own animals.
i agree. they seem to be one of them "urban" farming stoopidos...torturing helpless animals as they have no clue how they re kept properly! you cannot simply 2combine" animals in a narrow space! it s animal abuse, seriouslly!
Rpo
Are they male birds?
Apparently he’s spoiled! He’s walking on your table onto your eggs. And then onto your couch. He needs some discipline.
Please stop trying to make a hen call it’s pretty bad.
Couldn’t they drown in the water or is that just bantams? They are so cute?
Put rocks in the water bowl to prevent drowning
Who else is randomly looking at baby turkeys
Im not randomly i have a purpose and cause its turkey hunting season rn
Who else noticed the little silkie walking around trying to be inconspicuous?🤣
Turkey's are so chill
I couldn’t Like the video… This was indicative of people who don’t know how to respect animals… At least allow them to have a large enclosure
Two stupid people watching these,
turkey flexing :)
Yeah… and his testosterone levels too high ! They’re still babies! 😢
"You are too cut too be true." " I'm gonna put you on the chopping block." You my friend, will be a tasty treat if the apocalypse happens and I aint talkin to the turkey.
That was awful. There's better ways to introduce than that. And it defiantly not funny.
LOL.....Turkey vs. Rooster, they both got moves, but the Rooster being shorter, gets under the Tom's wings and tailfeathers so it should be just the Tom just sit on the Rooster! lol..and the outcome Rooster 0 Turkey WIN! :D btw, uprated and subbed! :)
so you find torturing animals "funny"?
@@combatduckie No you silly Duckie, its just the maneuvers they have here do tickle, well at least mine and some 🙂other's funnybone.
It is a very uneven fight, and no laughing matter at all.
Mine are 6 weeks and started strutting a week and a half ago so age has no limit lol
An awesome video
Female poults will strut too. We had one female poult who was bigger than everyone else cause she hatched first who would strut and push her brothers who are now full-size toms around. She is tiny next to them now but she would bully them when they were babies.
How do they even jump so high?! I cant even jump as high as them even though im a high jumper!
Since when did that bird fly?
Turkeys fly duh
@@cartermccauley7352 duh I knew that but not at that early age.
@@Zumbagirl517 ok. You have a good day!
Why are they strutting so early?
Can I keep hot gel bag instead of heating pad
Cute chicks 🐥
Too cute!
Hi, will you please start making videos again? I don’t know if you still have access to this account, but would love to see more content from you, thanks!
Value sugar never! Domino or perhaps there's one better than that but never compromise w/ value sugar . Nice video though. 😊
It looks like they're having size competitions. Boys will be boys. xD
+DaWhiteWolffie They sure will!
@Natrix The Monster Oh brother. It's literally what they do when they're male birds! They display! And it's a joke. Lighten up.
Congratulations on your wedding, loved this tour of your homestead, that yellow "squash", don't know what they look like but could that yellow fruit be a "lemon cucumber"? Cute li'l chicks sure have grown alot, no longer covered in down but in feathers, and the turkeys have grown much as well, seen you also have some guineas and those black birds, black australorps? Thumbs up, thank you for sharing. :)
+Joe Serrano thank you! The black birds are actually olive eggers 😋
Enjoyin' the turkey poults a struttin'!!! Gobble though, not yet, just the chirpin' sound of their baby age. :)
+Joe Serrano we love raising them! They're so much fun!
How COOL is that!!! Baby Tom already wanting to strut and gobble......and FLY as well! :)
+Joe Serrano I have been surprised by how many of my toms strutted so early! Almost all of them were displaying and showing off at a very young age.
lol....my buddy Paul from Lifeinthailand was raising quail babies, and when incubating the eggs, he put in a turkey egg, out hatched a young tom but when it came time to have him join the turkey flock(chickens and ducks as well), Young Tom wanted to stay with his quail bros and sisters! You have beautiful turkey poults, I can only imagine when they're full grown how beautiful your turkeys are!
+Joe Serrano He's adorable, isn't he? Amazing how quick they grow!
+Joe Serrano thank you! I'll try putting up a new video including the adults.
just had a Narragansett hen kill a silkie rooster ......watch tour turkeys around your chicks! ...great video !!!
+meekslt5 we sold our silkies already, but I'll be mindful of that in the future if I ever get any more!
why dont you let the birds free range its cruel to keep them in that pen
Tprop12 I wish I could! Our area has extremely active predators and lots of hawks, (and a couple eagles) so we've even had to cover the top of the chicken runs with wire netting to protect them and keep predators from killing our birds.
cute!
awww!
