Launching Fairhaven's Junior Deputy Tree Warden Program!
That recipe is more of a seafood gratin than newburg as newburg has no cracker topping and is not baked. A for effort.
I always wondered who lived there 😂
This is amazing, making communication accessible to all is so important to inclusivity
I made these 40+ years ago after taking a cake decorating class at our local community college. Used plastic egg molds. They came in 3 sizes and one half had a flat bottom so the egg sat long ways on a surface with a peep hole on one end of the egg. First off I mixed food coloring with the sugar and water by hand and made sure I got it evenly distributed so when it dried the color wasn't splotchy. Also I didn't use a lot of food coloring so the eggs were more pastel rather than a dark color. Also I scooped out and shaped the top and bottom of the eggs while still in the molds and then very gently turned them out on a flat plate. At first I let them air dry for at least 24 hrs before decorating them. I later saw a TV show where the person demonstrating how to make the eggs actually put them in a microwave to dry them. Works perfectly but you have to be careful not to over heat them or they will collapse/melt. After that I made them with the microwave method. When my son was in the 1st grade I made the eggs for each child in his class and wrote their names on the eggs. I made about 28 eggs that year. They will keep indefinitely as long as they are stored in a dry place away from sunlight and not wrapped in plastic. I also used a "Leggs" egg (the one that pantyhose came in) and shaved off the bottom so it would sit upright. Made a pretty decorated Easter egg too.

SORRY for my tearful thanks for this Honor for my son Chris(his mom died from complications of his birth, my only child) who earned his PURPLE HEART during his 1st of three tours in Iraq with the 1st Cavelry in a Bradley unit. I can't imagine the horrors he had to witness and countless body parts of his fellow soldiers I know he had to help pick up. God bless the USA and God bless you all!
Great friends.....great musicians.
On his arrival, Elway was first-class jerk By Buddy Thomas So John Elway was a first class jerk for not wanting to play for Frank Kush (a sadistic coach who knew nothing about offense) and the Colts? John Elway who gave the Colts a heads-up and told them he'd play for the Yankees if drafted by the Colts. That John Elway? Buddy, you're the first-class jerk. Fyi, the 13th ammendment abolished slavery.
Phenomenal educational experience!
I'm making your recipe this weekend, thanks for sharing !!!
Need to end bird baths

Class of 2000. We were somewhat blessed to be able to experience both old and new having our tenure span the construction of the addition. Great memories from this place. I sometimes forget how beautiful that building truly was. Great presentation!!

What an awesome presentation , expected nothing less, thank you I am sure this will be cherished by many in years to come, many thanks of appreciation for all you have so unselfishly, God Speed. Mrs Del
Phil is the best!!!!! BAAABBAYYYYYYY!!!!!!¡!!!!!!
Oh the memories!! Great job Bob!
This is a stunning docu on a building that has a very special place in my heart and that of my family members. My father, Pierre Paquin, was a faculty member in the foreign language department. He taught at FHS for 27 years. He passed away last year. Every single day, he found a reason to mention his beloved teaching career.
Hi Corinne, He spoke of you often in class when I had him my Sophomore and Junior year. My classroom I had him in is now the hallway to the new addition. I loved having your dad those 2 years. I saw him at the Century House in 2019 for Mr. Dufour's induction. He remembered me as soon as I told him my nick name he gave me lol
I remember the day they raised the roof on the rotunda. The entire class went outside to watch it be raised into place. I figured I would secure my own little place in history by staying back in the classroom and watching out the opened second floor window. Then every picture you saw, there I'd be.. here comes my moment (@6:05 in the documentary) and there I am... blocked by the back of someone's head. Oh well, I tried. Loved the documentary. Great work.
I am a very proud graduate a Class of 1990!
Beautifully done! Brought back some great memories. Thank you to all involved. - Jennifer (Caron) Brady, Class of ‘89
Thank you so much for this documentary Bob!!! I graduated in 1952. The auditorium brought back he memory of my first vocal concert. I was 17 years old and I remember every seat being filled and I can "see" my parents sitting in the front row. Of course, I was thrilled to see my desk in room 7, and the gym where I played basketball.....so many memories....You and our committee did a magnificent job putting this together. I'm sharing it with hundreds of folks who will be amazed and thrilled to know what Henry Huttleston Rogers gave to our beautiful town. Bless you all!
My grandmother made these for all the grandkids. She would pipe our names on the outside. For the inside, she would cut out fugues from Easter cards & that would be rife figurines on the inside. Almost all had a cross in them. She would use cellophane to cover the fronts & do a small straight shell border to cover the edges. She never used the stand. She would cut the bottom flat so they would sit in their own. I do like the stand.
She used the size eggs you used today but laid them lengthwise with a flat bottom & piped the names on the side.
Thank you for your memory….I was trying to find the history of these….I remember seeing them as a kid, never had one, but used to see them at friend’s houses or the store.
I love this ❤
Ok, I'm from defendants of Brava, Cape Verde, now saying this my older brother told me this dish is Manchupa, and not Cachupa. Help?! I'm just learning my culture.
No, I’m from brava, my mom was born there… it is called Cachupa… as a matter fact the national dish of Cape Verde is Cachupa rica…. Which translates to Rich Cachupa and it normally has the addition of lots of meat and vegetables…Manchupa is what the American born kriolu call it…
Great job!

Growing up we lived behind Barbero's on Bridge St in Fairhaven. It was always a special treat to get pizza from them and I remember cutting the coupons off the boxes to save up enough to get a FREE pizza!
Where did you find the salt pork? Market Basket, Shaws, and Stop & Shop have been out recently.
