Приєднався 1 лип 2022
The Manly Saints Project exists to tell the stories of saints who were also icons of manliness. In a time when many young men are searching for role models, the stories of manly saints have never been more important.
From warriors to knights to thinkers to business leaders, every episode will introduce you to a new manly saint.
This channel is the video version of the Manly Saints Podcast. To read these articles or listen to them as audio podcasts, you can follow the Manly Saints Project on Substack: manlysaints.substack.com

I have always admired this Saint but never really knew the whole story. Thank you again Hugh. ❤
I love your videos, especially of these pre schism saints.
Great story about a gentle and brave saint.
My Saint 🥺
Introduction is too long. Too much irrelevant music. There's a lot of mistakes in the narrative. Durham was an Abbey with monks and an Abbot, not Friars with a prior.
Through the prayers of our holy father Saint Phocas the gardener, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy upon us and save us. Amen.
Great concept .
Great video. I'm a retired sailor(USCG), an avid gardener, and about to start Orthodox catechism next month.
Awesome story of the life St Peter of Verona. Thank you
So inspiring. There’s hope for all of us!
Your channel is going places! Keep up the good work and have faith that people will listen. God bless.
Thanks!
😊
Love this
Bless you. I attend St. Thomas the Apostle church and I love your talks.🤗
Would make a great movie.
I like the presentation style.. the saints of the church are many. One thing you can do to better improve story is to keep that background music ever so vaguely and some pictures of cities, the saint, etc
Another remarkable saint story. I enjoy these so much. Thank you Hugh!
St oniphurus Pls help us financially solve our debts to ur of us
St oniphurus pray for us intercede for us hv mercy on us

Hello. Thank you again for this. May St Onuphrius, and you, continue to pray for us! Amen.
He is the patron saint of my son, St Justin is truly a manly saint. Thank you Hugh.
Proverbs.
Wonderful.
❤
Another great bio /story. Thanks
Awesome story of St George.
And so, even you have to rebuttal and admit that he wasn't hiding. They just wished he was hiding, and afraid.
In hiding? He literally died because he walked up and started speaking; that's not very hidden. Nor would it be manly, to hide like a coward. c:
Hello. Thank you for this “Manly” video. May (Bl.) Albert of Bergamo OP, and you, pray for us.
What a beautiful soul
St Longinus, pray to God for us.
Thank you Hugh! Another beautiful and inspiring true story
Another excellent video, and one on a truly, very Manly Saint. I thought I knew quite a bit about Sir Thomas More, but your far more thorough research really enlightened me. One thing that I would like to mention concerns the character of Humanism. It is like a coin with opposing sides. Of course, its emphasis on " the sources" goes hand in hand with the rebirth of the Classical arts, so named, The Renaissance. However, the man known as the Father of Humanism, Francesco Petracca or Petrarch (1304-1374), looked back and refashioned the saying of the ancient Greek, Protagoras, "Man is the measure of all things." This became humanism's trademark. While the Church, albeit, has been plagued by the mistakes made by the men in charge, it has always insisted that "God is the measure of all things." Since nothing that man creates stays the same, we now have a world beset by the ills of Progressive Humanism and the Church has suffered greatly.
There's a lot in what you say. Still, I think we have to remember that concepts like humanism are ways that historians group thinkers who are sort of similar to each other so that we can talk about them more easily. Then when we create these labels we can ask general questions like whether humanism was good or bad on the whole. We all teach history this way, otherwise it would be too complicated. But I do think it is risky to read those big picture trends back into the people you were trying to summarize in the first place. Saint Thomas More may have had a better version of humanism, one that unfortunately did not predominate. Who knows, perhaps if Saint Thomas More had been able to set the movement's tone, perhaps if he had just lived longer, we might have a more positive view of humanism today...
These videos are really important for helping people to not only learn about Manly Saints, but also for learning history itself. I recommend, Hugh, that you might organize your Manly Saints Project videos chronologically. Then you could publish them as a curriculum for Catholic Schools. Many churches might use them for their own educational efforts. Your work, Hugh, should be better known. I have shared some of your videos with the principal of a small Catholic Academy that I know. I hope he introduced them to his faculty. Well done, Hugh Hunter.
Thank you very much for these kind words. A chronological list is a good idea. And thank you for sharing the videos. I am talking to a publisher now to get a hard copy of these posts out... hopefully I'll have good news on that front soon.
Pray for my daughter to have a boy ask my lord Jesus Christ amen 👏👏👏👏👏👏
That was great. My boys and I love listening to these bios!
Enjoying these true stories of our saints. Thank you. What a much needed ministry
HOW WONDERFULLY GOD WORKED.I M SPEECHLESS.
SORRY TO REMIND.DO SOMETHING WITH THE WRITING OF PROPER NAMES. I HAVEN T UNDERSTOOD A CLUE ABOUT THE SO CALLED SAINT MAUGHOLD.
Unfortunately I do not create the subtitles for these videos. UA-cam does this automatically for all videos. You can turn them off by following the instructions here: support.google.com/youtube/answer/100078?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop#zippy=%2Cturn-captions-on-or-off
Really love your commentaries on the Saints ❤🙏
By the looks of where the Catholic church has evolved, it looks like he should had stuck with the Orthodox Church.
Thanks. A beautiful, moving story, well told. And fortunately for me I'm an ignoramus in the matters of correct pronunciation! 😊
Love these stories about our Catholic saints. Thank you
i m sorry toremind you that in the English translation proper names are written incorrectly for example ;DESCARTES. IT IS NOT OK.
Thanks, those are UA-cam's auto generated captions. I don't create or control them, UA-cam listens to the audio and puts in what it thinks sounds right. You can find the properly written version here manlysaints.substack.com/p/saint-benedict-joseph-labre
