The most important factor is the person who takes photo, gadgets are secondary. If you have a good budget choose between Canon or Sony. If the budget is tight you may choose Nikon. All brands are good. I will suggest you mirrorless instead of DSLR

Yes you are right, however I enjoy shooting handheld and being. Carrying a tripod adds to one more work and load. Also by the time I did set the tripod before, the bird flew away.

Hi Supriti, Sunakhari Lodge is one of the best properties of Rishyap in terms of view. If you are going for bird watching try to stay in Passerine Retreat. Also the trek to Tiffindara is a great adventure. The view from the top is breathtaking. Carrying 200-500 will be a difficult task. But if you can manage it then you must take it The ascent is very steep in a few places. You may struggle there with your heavy gear. Also must take a guide along. Thanks

Hi November and December are the best time for bird watching. Also the weather remains excellent. I myself Revisiting in December mid for birds watching to Rishyap
