THE ROAMING STRAYDOG
Canada
Приєднався 7 сер 2014
Adventures by Straydog. I've worked hard, but throughout life, I also have figured out how to play hard hard as well. It's always been in my blood. My parents tought me about the virtues and values of adventure and travel and I've carried that through my 5+ decades on this beautiful planet. There is so much to experience out there, and I plan on spending whatever time I have left, seeing the world and experiencing new things. The best education we will ever get is travelling. Nothing teaches you more than exploring the world and accumulating experiences.
I hope your days come easy and the moments pass slow and that each road leads to where you want to go......

Johnson Lake, BC
A quick ride up to Johnson Lake, in the Thompson-Nicola region of British Columbia. I had seen photos and videos of this lake recently, so I thought I go check it out. The weather wasn't the best enroute, with lots of clouds, so I was expecting to be able to get very good drone footage. But, as luck would have it, shortly after I arrived, the sun peaked out!
Just an incredibly beautiful lake.
Just an incredibly beautiful lake.

Guanajuato to Lake Chapala [S6:EP10]

Tunnel Vision on this one. So I spend a bit of extra time this morning trying to find my way through all of the correct tunnel's in Guanajuata to get out of town. After about 30mins, I'm successful in exiting at the right spot to then do about an hour of some great dirt roads, leading back up the the twisty MX110 highway, then back into Guanajuato, before heading NW, towards Leon, then SW to La...
San Miguel to Guanajuato [S6:EP9]
Переглядів 442 місяці тому
After 2 amazing days in San Miguel de Allende, I take a few backroads, dirt roads, and the incredible twisty MX110 into Guanajuato. The 110 is a very popular road for motorcyclists, and I was fortunate enough to ride this road on a sunny Sunday, where I encountered hundreds of other riders out for their Sunday ride.
Mexico City to San Miguel de Allende [S6:EP8]

Leaving one of the most populated cities in the world proves to be a bit of an exercise in patience....traffic, traffic and more traffic. But, thankfully, it doesn't last all day and I am able to make it to the spectacular city of San Miguel de Allende. San Miguel is a colonial-era city in Mexico’s central highlands, is known for its baroque Spanish architecture, thriving arts scene and cultura...

EPIC, EPIC, EPIC!! In May 2022, I took an amazing trip to Nepal, to ride up into the Upper Mustang region of Nepal. Eleven incredible days of riding through the Anapurna range in this beautiful country, where we explored Tibet's last remaining Forbidden Kingdom, visited the ancient walled-city of Lo Manthang, traverse the trans-Himalaya and Tibetan plateau at 4800m, visited the world's oldest a...
Cordoba to Puebla, Mexico [S6:EP7]

INCREDIBLE!! In this video, I ride from Cordoba to the city of Peubla and discover one of the most amazing Cathedrals in the world. I've toured a lot of churches in the world and this one is definitely top 5. Puebla is the capital and largest city of the state of Puebla, and the fourth largest city in Mexico. The city was founded by the Spanish in 1531 to secure the trade route between Mexico C...
Tuxes, Coats and Waterfalls! [S6:EP6]

In this video, I leave Tuxtla Gutierrez, the Capital city of the state of Chiapas and head northeast and cross into Tabasco for a brief stint and then into the state of Veracruz to the heavy industrial city of Coatzacoalcos on the Gulf of Mexico. The next morning, I leave Coat and venture up into the mountains to check-out some waterfalls. Come along for the ride!
Check out this Canyon [S6:EP5]

I leave the town of Palneque in the Mexican state of Chiapas and head northwest to the town of San Andres Tuxtla where I stay for the night. The next day, I I venture into the Canon del Sumidero, an amazing spectacle with breathtaking views. Come along for the journey to see this incredible natural wonder.
Hopkins to Bacalar, [S6:EP4]
Переглядів 483 місяці тому
In this video, I leave the Caribbean seaside town of Hopkins in Belize and cross into Mexico for the lakeside village of Bacalar. At this point, I wasn't aware that this would be one of my last days on the bike for 2 weeks due to the infected toe. It's May 6-7th during this trip, and then once I leave Bacalar for Puerto Aventuras, my toe is really swollen, which made the trip quite painfull. St...
The Mayan City of Palenque [S6:EP3]
Переглядів 373 місяці тому
The ancient Mayan city of Palenque in Chiapas is one of the most outstanding Classic period sites of the Maya area, known for it's exceptional and well conserved architectural and sculptural remains. Dating back to 500AD, Palenque is a masterpiece, exemplifying the craftmanship and civic planning habits of the mayan civilization.
Merida to Campeche [S6:EP2]

Holy batman it's HOT here....45C in Merida and thankfully, slightly less in Campeche, with it being on the Gulf of Mexico. Today's ride was not a long one, at less than 190km's, which was welcomed due to these extreme temperatures. Upon arriving in Campeche, I ditch the bike and head-out to see the historic city centre and walk the malecon.
Puerto Aventuras to Merida [S6:EP1]

Back on the road, after a month of RnR on the Mayam Riviera. In this short video, I leave Puerto Aventuras and head towards Merida, the Captial of the state of Yucatan.
Belize: [S5:EP16]

In this video, I leave the Mayan ruins in Tikal, Guatemala and ride north east into the only english speaking country in Central America: Belize. Belize really is an incredibly beautiful, yet very small country. With just around 400,000 people, it's not hard to find remoteness here, despite it's small size. From amazing jungle and waterfalls to incredibly gorgeous Caribbean waters and cayes, th...

Don't think the GB racing protection covers are real
That’s not a world Raid….i don’t get the stickers!
Nice to know the cabins are still there and the camping areas are OK. Great fishing lake.
I had friends that had a cabin on Johnson Lake. The lake is so gin clear that it's great for SCUBA diving and underwater photography but not so good for fly fishing.
nice content sir, without the sim card or bluetooth connected to your hanphone, does it have a GPS signal
Bad ass
World raid…. Come on this ain’t no world raid. This is like putting an M badge on a non M car.
¡Wow! amazing Volcano. thanks for the video. 👏👏
It would be helpful to people if you had a list of the addons you used.
Soy Juan del Mallin ahumado, saludos cordiales❤
I looked for the link you said you would add for the slip on but couldn't find it. Can you reply with the link?
That T7 looks sick
Amazing
Que bonitas vistas bendiciones infinitas donde quiera que vallas saludos desde El salvador que cumplas tus sueños ❤
Love the views …why you didn’t take a buddy with u ? 😁
I have this setup, my 2 complaints are 1 that it sticks out pretty far and 2 I worry about it breaking off after many miles.
How were the howler monkeys?
Always amazing to see and hear.
Hope you bought the hat Rob! Hope you had a good time there and climbed the volcano? I was there for a week and really enjoyed it (but that was over the 30 years ago now)!
Nope....didn't buy that hat. No room to carry souvenirs when travelling on a motorcycle. This isn't a bad thing....it prevents me from buying anything:)
I'm picking up a 2024 T7 today. Nice mods! The same whoops happened to me in mud at the Giant Loop Rally last Summer, I was alone and it was a bear to lift in the snotty mud. lol Touratech bars saved my plastics as well. Beautiful area to ride. I'm down in Humboldt County California, nature is awesome!
Awesome
What would you consider hard highway riding? Like 80mph ? Or just smashing the throttle to pass cars? You mention fuel consumption if riding hard on freeway.
Such an awesome ride! Has been a pleasure hanging and riding with you!
love this. you're the good. i'm the bad? and who's ugly?
You’re living the dream, man 🙌🔥
I am! thanks!!
Looks pretty awesome ... hope you spent a couple of extra days there!
I did! Wonderful place to re-charge.
Columbia? I think it refers to Colombia 😂😂. Welcome...
Just started watching your adventure. Curious to what navigation system you're using. Incredible journey
Nice drone shots at the end. 👍👍
Thanks 👍
All the best Pal, good on ya to keep going!
Gotta do it! New opportunities and new friends will be made:)
I'm 68, working on second knee replacement. Time to get the show on the road in next few months after their winter.
I've had 1 knee replacement. The recovery sucks, but once through it, life is great again. Good luck with your 2nd. Hope I don't need that:)
Last 10 minutes are black. Great tour though!
Beautiful man
Thank you kindly
Excellent 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome videos Rob! It has been (and is) great to be able to follow along and see your travels and adventures. I hope the bodies are holding out okay. ¡Espero que sus cuerpos estén aguantando bien y cuídense y tengan buen viaje!
Body is doing great, having a fantastic time.
Where did you get that mounting bracket on the Husky?
I think I got in through Aliexpress.
Great videos man 🙌
Glad you like them!
Brodit is made in Sweden. Awesome products
It’s actually a “motorcycle film festival”. Sorry needed to clarify that. Thank you
This is phenomenal footage. Are you planning on putting it altogether into a movie? Here in Oregon, we have the Portland Film Festival in mid October every year. I bet you guys would be a great success. 👍👊
Oh amazing...thanks for the wonderful feedback:) Maybe I do have a new career ahead of me. But seriously, just doing it for fun, and trying to get better with every video I make. Maybe in 5years, I'll really have some quality stuff!
@@TheRoamingStraydog hope you guys stop in Portland on your way up.
those tunnels are wild
While I respect guys who are into modification, the T7 doesn't really need any work unless you are in some professional field like racing.
It def needs suspension work and most of all the other mods I've done are for personal reasons of course. However, I would say a few others are necessary: ie: The Anti-bobble, the higher windscreen, the one-finger Camel ADV clutch lever and the heated grips if you're riding in any kind of cool weather.
Hello Rob. Thank you for doing this. A few of us will be doing Portland to Ushuaia in a couple years. I look forward to following you guys along your trip.
How much lighter is the tank compared to stock hardware. Wihtout fuel of course.
I would say it's about 30% of the weight of the OEM tank.
Just installed this tank on my T7, did not remove yamaha crash bars either.. no worries. Also no interference from new tank with Zumo gps mounted to handle bar mount..
Nice build on your t7, I just got my 2024 t7 a month ago and am building it like crazy
Nice 👍
The scenery is AMAZING, but the clouds are the COOLEST!
Cyd and Cam are watching from Canada!!!
So glad to have found your channel!! Looking forward to videos of your adventure. 🎉
Welcome aboard!
you must have made it into an algorithm. I wasn't looking for this content but it was suggested to me haha. I'd be taking my DR650 on a trip like that. I think the T7 a beautiful bike but I'm not pro enough to fix everything on a more complex bike or off road a heavy bike. Have a great trip.
The T7 is as reliable as your DR, that's why I chose a Yamaha:)
Great meeting you guys at the restaurant on Aconcagua. I will be following you guys along the way. Best of luck.
