Love this!!! Happy music!!
Ive been hurt
At last, a live performance of this amazing group! Many hits in Brazil, in the early 70's. Thank you!
increíble nada que ver con la basura de música de estos tiempos.
Really, is a great song!
Hippo 1980.
The best of beach that will ever be, ''I promise'' none could be finer, RIP Bill.
This song...(this version) was very popular in Argentina in the 60's...great song...
I think the girl in this clip is Karen Lynn Gorney an actress whos most notable movie role was John Travoltas dance partner in 'Saturday Night Fever'.
I love William and the Rhondels. I also love Bill Deal and The Big Deals, Big Toe. (Big Toe in the Wind). Tremendous sound. Mario D.
Quiz was the bass player and is the guy with the girl at the bar in Rhoges, we played there many times, I was a member of the group in the 70's
Some of thoes clips was taker in va beach at Rhoges Gallery
I've loved Bill Deal's music ever since I heard the Rhondels at Rogue's Gallery sometime around 1969 or 70. Your dad would be proud of what you've done.
Bubba, I rented an apartment from your grandfather, Noah, in Portsmouth many years ago. I think it was on Ann (?) Anne St. (a very short walk from where he lived at the time) I used to go to VA Beach to see your dad's band. They would come in and smoke the place. It would usually be so crowded that if you wanted to dance you basically had to jump up and down in the spot you were standing in. He was a great musician and from things I've read and heard, he also was one hell of a guy.

What a treat for us Bill Deal fans, singing LIVE. Ammon Tharp's vocals were great, along with the others. I didnt see a guitar there, was it a pre recorded track?...or were the other players off stage...no matter what, it was fantastic!!!!
1969, summer,chicago, 18 yrs.old.
These songs bring back so many great memories, wish I could have seen these guys in person!
Brings back such great memories...Peppermint at VA Beach. The Rhondells will never be forgotten & rest in peace Bill Deal...you are missed!!
I love the dichotomy. A happy, swinging, upbeat melody with a sorrowful, bluesy lyric. I loved this song from the first time I heard it as an eighteen year old kid in 1969.
John Aragona produced the 1989 Beach Music Awards. This was televised and recorded from that show.
I love this song !!! One of my favorites !!!!!
This are my kind of songs, I'l never get tired of listen to this wonderful music.
¡Excelente! No hay palabras solo sé decir ¡¡¡Bravooo!!! por Bill Deal una gran canción. Felicitaciones a bubdeal1 por haberla compartido con todos aquellos que amamos a Bill Deal. ¡Ciao! Trasiano
No mention of Michelle Phillips singing with Bill Deal & The Rhondels in her Wikipedia bio.

Good regional band my ass. I have sat in bars all across America and Canada. Well, along with a hand full in Mexico and Southeast Asia, but I digress. I have heard Bill Deal all over the world. They have a sound that is just to great to be regional.

I'm from Portsmouth, VA, home of Bill Deal. They played at our prom and some of our homecoming games at Churchland High School in 66-67. Always great. They recently named a 'Bill Deal Street" here in his honor. Ammon Tharp is still playing in the area with his band.
bill deal was the greatest

EN 1968 YO TENIA 8 AÑOS Y LAS MAESTRAS NORMALISTAS DE LA ESCUELA VENUSTIANO CARRANZA UNIDAD PRIMARIA GANARON UN CONCURSO DE GIMNASIA EN EL PARQUE DE BESIBOLL NIÑOS HEROES CON NOSOTROS...GRACIAS A ESTA ROLA
Fantastic Tunes. Lot's of memories. Thanks for sharing
Great tune!!!
Actually, they didn't get swamped by the British invasion at all. Bill Deal & the Rhondels had three national hits in 1969--well after the Brits showed up on this side of the Atlantic. They had their own national tour in 1970. Bill Deal said this about touring: “You travel from town to town, different room every night. When you have children back home, that’s something that’s important. We decided to pull off the road and stay home. It worked out well.” So they chose to be a good regional band.
between the Rhondels and the Showmen.Va. SHOULD get much more credit for the popularity of BEACH MUSIC today.
thats not michelle phillips,i willing to bet on it.
lost a great artist in Bill.
@JamesPortland James they were always popular in the Southeast because of the popularity of "Beach Music" but I think nationally they were swamped by the British Invasion.
I remember the Peppermint Beach Club in Virginia Beach as the home of Bill Deal & the Rhondels, featuring Roy Hines. They were THE premier band in the entire Tidewater area in the 60s, when Rhythm & Blues became Soul Music. Always had a tight brass section, excellent musicians, excellent performances! They often shared the stage with Buddy & the Pop Tops. On the Peninsula (my side), it was The Fugitives (Hampton), and The Sheepherders (Newport News). Great memories!
great music,,,, the third musician at 1:05 looks a lot like a young Abe Lincoln,,,,,LOL
