Mental health hair styles and processes are so important! Mini twists are my mental health hair style…whether it’s stress so i leave my hair alone, or stress and i have limited time…or stress all i can do when i get home is fall in bed…or stress i need to force myself to slow down and care for myself and take a day or two to love on myself…mini twists! I hope all of yall have a mental health hairstyle bc looking confident and presentable when ur miserable is the ground floor of getting better. And when u need to do ur mental health hairstyle make it an EVENT, make it self care, pick the food you eat, clean up the space u do ur hair, pick a music/audiobook/movie playlist…whatever. I want to add mini braids with human hair ends to my mental health hair list.

I love your thick hair, but definitely if you do want to get your hair straight, how it looked after you flat ironed it is how is should’ve looked after blow drying. And there’s usually a simple fix for that. Make sure you are using minimal product (all you need is a professional grade leave-in conditioner, and you can use a light serum on top) and then use your blowdryer on high heat, high speed (regular blow dryers don’t get hot enough to give heat damage unless you’re literally holding it in one place for a long time, which you don’t do when blow drying), use either a comb attachment or paddle brush (I prefer a paddle brush because it catches all the individual hairs), and make sure your hair completely dry and straightened as much as possible by the blow dryer (if the blow dry isn’t good, the flat ironing won’t be good either). Then use a heat protectant spray after your hair is dry, and then flat iron based on your porosity level (low porosity can use around 380 degrees, high/medium porosity can use between 400-450. Then wrap it and wala 😅 silky straight hair ❤

Looks beautiful, but I wouldn't call that a silk press, more like a soft press! I think if you went JUST a little higher, to 370F or so, you'd get a sleeker result while still minimizing the possibility of heat damage. Also, glamfam hair & beauty has a technique he demos on his channel where you kinda lock the wrist going down, which helps to make it smoother yet. Your ends seem to be resistant to smoothing out - are you planning a trim before reverting back to curly? Girl, you HAVE to try the revair. It'll make your blowout look like the press in this vid, with WAY less heat than from a traditional blowdryer. Can you imagine what the silk press would look like AFTER that1??? Right now I'm pressing out my hair once a year, but blowdrying 4-5 times year.
