About me: I'm a meteorologist and graduate student researching hail and dual-pol radar at PSU. Storm chasing is one of my favorite activities, but when I'm not obsessing about weather or my research, I'm always working on one of my passion projects. I love pushing myself past the point of pain, to become the best I can at what I do! I'm currently grinding NES Tetris, so I can compete in CTWC 2021, and I'm always working to optimize the few world records I have in Marble Blast. I'm also a huge fantasy buff, who's obsessed with dragons, so I'm also writing my first novel. Honestly, I physically can't be doing nothing at any time. I'd go insane. So, here's a collection of my greatest work!

Lightning Strikes Transformer at Baseball Game
Переглядів 1,3 тис.5 місяців тому
Lightning strike is at 0:18 Everyone seemed to love my last storm video, so it's encouraged me to finally start editing some of the other old ones! This was filmed over a decade ago at PSU Weather Camp (before my voice dropped hahahaha). I had made a bet with my friend Matt that we'd lose power from the storm at the baseball game, so I was a little too excited when not only was I right, but I a...
Snow Microburst - State College, PA 2-19-22
Переглядів 305 тис.6 місяців тому
Finally uploading this insane snow squall from PSU last year! We went to the top of the west deck parking garage to get a better view. I've never seen such a defined wall of snow on the leading edge of a squall before! Looking back at the footage, we all believe this was a cold convection microburst. You can see very clearly at 0:48 that the snow is fanning out both right and left, and there is...

PSU defeats GVSU 3-2 and goes 3-0 in matches at JMU Beast XI. Sorry this took so long to post! The past 4 months of my life have been horrendous and my motivation is non-existent, but dodgeball makes me happy :) @ncdadodgeball
13th Maxout & PB "First 1.1 and 2nd ever qual max!" - 7/1/22
Переглядів 50Рік тому
Did this qual after a very exhausting two weeks and a terrible day. I wasn't expecting much and was never really nervous, so that must be why I got this hahaha. I made it to the semis of the Hopeful bracket, ensuring that I get into the bracket for August CTM as well!

Very high stack for the first half of 18. Add it to the list of 1.1 chokes. This one was funny though
10th Maxout & PB! - 3/29/22 (1st)

Yes I'm shirtless lol. It's about 85° in our room and we can't turn down the heat, because our dorm is so old that the pipes just pump out heat completely out of our control :/ MJ and I were playing our usual competition to see who could get a higher score within an hour and 30 minutes. To make it more fair, he uses a modifier to each of his scores equal to my PB divided by his PB. Any start le...

Learning SM64 16-Star - Day 4: BitS in 56 Seconds!
Переглядів 122 роки тому
Pretty bad run still, but I'm happy with it atm considering that I only have roughly 14 hours of total play time for the game, and I did both of the tough triple jump strats! I finally got my sum of best to a sub-20. I'm shooting for a sub-18 SoB by practice hour 30, so the grind continues! :D
Dodgeball 3-21-22 Practice Highlights and Fun Moments
Переглядів 1172 роки тому
Here's some skillful and entertaining clips from tonight's practice (there's probably too much of me, but I'm biased since the camera's on my head lol). I really liked putting this together, so I might make some more of these in the future :) And yeah, next practice, I will aim the camera a bit lower...
8th Maxout and First Tetris Effect Max! - 2/20/22
Переглядів 252 роки тому
I hosted a Tetris social event at my dorm and played a few games just to put up a score. I was only shooting for an easy 700k or 800k if I was lucky... I never thought I'd get a maxout in front of everyone! I'm still sad I don't have the whole game on video, but thanks to MJ, I at least have the ending!

Another small PB and yet another 1.1 choke :/ That's okay, I want the 1.1 skip anyways :)

I was talking to a friend in VC this whole game, mostly not paying any attention to what I was doing lol. (The first thing we were talking about is how it's funny that one of the best NES Tetris players (Chez) has the same name as one of the best SM64 speedrunners (Cheese), in case you were curious.)

NES Tetris 678,902 - My 2nd Best Score
The fact that its not time lapse is absolutely amazing. Damn.
It’s definitely a snow squall and could be considered a microburst. I’ve seen similar things accompanied by lightning before with snow. It’s just relatively warm air and cold air. I would consider it a snow microburst too.
Guy from youtube here i also practice as a recreational gynecologist, i can also concur that it is indeed a microburst
W.O.W...
Would have loved to be in Buffalo New York November 2014 to experience 6 inch an hour lake effect snow squalls. Accumulations totaled around 7 feet after the 4 day event. Absolutely incredible!!!
que nevasca é essa parece a tempestade ártica
the xtreme storm usa/bra tempestade extrema
That is so cool. Wish i could have been there for that.
Run TORNADO 🌪️🌪️🌪️🌪️
We see these a lot here in AZ. Mostly however because thunderstorms during the winter time tend to move west to east. And into the mountains. And you can see the rain changing to snow once they reach the higher elevations in the distance from places like eastern Phoenix and Tucson. It's quite a sight to see. It's just a giant white wall.
That was so incredibly impressive. Thank you.
Literally looked like The Mist movie.
That, my friends, is a snow squall! Haven't seen one of those in years! WOO HOO!!
I got to experience one of these in the Charlotte, NC area in February 2013. 3.5” of snow fell in about an hour and fifteen minutes. It literally was like a line of spring thunderstorms going through, only with snow
Too flippin awesome! You'll remember that one forever.
Nah who turned off the render distance
Just remember, 90 mph winds are enough to throw a 150 lb man across that parking lot. We had a microburst with about that windspeed and it took down 200 plus trees in a 2 mile radias. It was at night but one kid was getting home and tried to run in the house but the wind picked him up and flung him into the house wall. He's fine but that could have easily not been the case. This looked fun. But knowing what could go down. I'm not going to risk it on a roof top.
You get the sound of the wind @3:00.
i would imagine that being enveloped in this while driving would give one some fear at the sudden loss of visibility.
Pretty sure you just witnessed the army of the dead arriving
Awww.. this is Gorgeous!!!!!!!
In Massachusetts we get hit with thunder snow, it produced 5 inches in about an hour
We had a winter storm like this last year in Northern Minnesota. I was outside working when it hit and I counted 2 lightning strikes. It was crazy.
I had a similar situation back in 1995, I used to live west of Cleveland and I remember it was right after Thanksgiving...a very potent lake effect storm was going on and though most of the snow was going to my east, one lone cell rode the lakeshore and became particularly convective for a snow squall. I grabbed my VHS-c camera and headed out to film the encounter and it looked somewhat similar to this. Just a wall of white and though it only lasted maybe 10 minutes easily 3 inches of heavy wet snow fell so it fell at a rate of 18 inches per hour! I've seen a lot of lake effect snow storms and snow in general but that one stands out as one of thee most intense snowfalls I've ever seen. I still have the video somewhere. It's just this video reminded me so much of that! Thank you for sharing this! Excellent work! 😊
NaICe
That's some Game of Thrones shit right there holy cow
Thats amazing I've never seen any weather like that!
Waiting for the white walkers to roll through.
lol @ the mask wearer... outside... smh
nerds lol
A snow shower rather than microburst
I saw something almost like that. Not so much "fog", but the snow deposited in 5 minutes was amazing
What an awesome experience 🌬❄️🌨
That is so fucking COOL.
Обычный день в России зимой 🙂
I was in Bellefont PA when this exact event happened. My ex and I were out for a walk that morning and were completely baffled by how quick this came and went. The locals there referred to it as a squall, never heard them say microburst
Ok, that’s a new one on me. That’s so cool; pun accepted.
Nice catch, guys.
You gay kids never learn
Looks like a blizzard.🥶 🙄
Looks like the Night King and the white walkers are approaching, better get tf inside 💀
Looks like a snownato.
Good video young man i hope you get your degree in meteorology soon keep thirsting for knowledge maybe someday ill see you on TV or storm chasing!
I'd LOVE to experience something like this in person. I love harsh, snowy weather.
You really need to get out more often😂
Breath of the Wild.
King night go
This is just the beginning, the end is coming folks
this is INCREDIBLE!!! ive never seen anything like it! :)
Sir, it was not "literally" a wall. It was simply the front of a weather event. Visit the tropics and you'll see the same thing with rain storms, in the span of a few meters it can go from bone dry to heavy rain.
Man everywhere but here in edmonton alberta getting snow. First Christmas and most of December where there hasn't been snow that has stuck around. Very weird winter so far! And no Temps anywhere near -30c
