Processing ECN-2 Super-8 with the Filmomat
Can you do ECN-2 with the Filmomat? Yes you can!
In this video we process a 15m Super-8 roll of Kodak Vision 50D in the real ECN-2 process, using the Bellini ECN-2 Kit and the Filmomat. A few adaptions are made to the process, in order to fit it to the Filmomat.
Of course, the exact same procedure can also be used to process 35mm films with the Filmomat.

    Ay caramba. I just checked the price- I'm out. But that could be more easily justified for a small lab that doesn't (or can't) invest in a Noritsu or Frontier. Nice to see the innovation. That's how this should be done in the computer age!

    Im trying to rig my AGO processor to my sous vide water bath some how. I like the AGO because it automatically adjusts the time to according to the temp of the chems so I’d love to find a way to add temperature control. I know it’s not really necessary but I want to develop for fellow photographers in my community and this would be great

    That is a really cool machine, but the process barely looks easier than processing film without it. I used to process film with a Unicolor drum and motor and the only real difference is pouring the chemicals in and out. For $5000, I'd really like a machine that would take my cartridge in one end and spit dry film out the other. And did I mention? I was processing E6!

    Stimmt nicht mit der aktuellen Version überein. Unter Anderem wird die Messung nicht automatisch beendet, es entsteht bei Öffnung des Verschlusses ein Ausschlag nach oben und bei Schließen ein Ausschlag nach unten, dazwischen eine schwer interpretierbare Erholungskurve. Auch misst der Plug Seitenlicht, wodurch die Zeitangaben der Beleuchtungsdauer des Erfassungswinkel der Plugs entsprechen und nicht der tatsächlichen Belichtungsdauer.

    A nice compromise on one of the fully automatic machines. However, at Eu 500, it is hugely overpriced for what is a water box, roller base and a timed friction roller to spin the tank. No tank, no sequence program timer; no regulated heater. This thing takes about $75 to make and box for delivery on its low sales volume basis.

    • @filmomat_official
      @filmomat_official Рік тому

      All Filmomat products are handcrafted from high quality materials. Everything is made in Germany and every product is thoroughly hand-tested before shipping. This quality reflects in the price. Still, Filmomat Light is the most affordable film processor currently on the market. You won’t find any comparable product for near this price. Building this for $75? Good luck ;)

    • @miracleyacht__1538
      @miracleyacht__1538 Рік тому

      @@filmomat_official Im sorry but this product just like the original filmomat benefits nobody. It really is just a plastic tub and a motor. The price is too expensive for any hobbyists to justify. And the fact that you have to pour the chemicals yourself makes it unjustifiable for any lab. Analog photography will not profit from this. This is only a toy for over ambitious rich photographers.

    • @krizzlec
      @krizzlec Рік тому

      @miracleyacht Sorry but your comment makes no sense. I have been pouring and dumping chemicals since my black and white days back in highschool. It's not very difficult. Anyone shooting color film and paying for lab development will easily make their money back very quickly with this machine.

    • @randallstewart1224
      @randallstewart1224 Рік тому

      @@krizzlec True enough. Folks have been pouring their chemicals in and out of tanks, as you would with this machine. They have also held their tank in a tempered water bath as here at practically no cost. And they have agitated their tanks manually, at no cost. So, when asked to spend more than $500 for a water bath which also spins your tank for agitation, you might expect a bit more for your money, like a programed timer and/or a heater. The maker could have added both of those functions for less than $50. What remains is, even at today's somewhat overpriced market, a $250 device being offered for $500. And, that it is German and "quality controlled" is ridiculous as a price justification. Does that means that they'd sell you a defective unit for $200? Just for a comparison, I have a water bath tank with built in regulated heater and a tank spinning system very much like a Jobo or this unit, made in the 1970-80s by Western here in the US. It was designed to take film or paper tanks. New, it was probably $125, and I bought it used (but new condition) for about $50. Like the Filmomat, this is marketed to those few darkroom practitioners who like "techy" stuff and are willing to pay for toys no one really needs. It's their itch to scratch and their money, and with lifetime sales which probably won't exceed 300 units, I can understand the price charged. I'm just saying that the price does not reflect its useful value.

    • @technos12

      Guys, you have to imagine that this machine is not produced in volume. Try to contact a provider to cut plexiglass and rods the size you need, add 3d printing, a motor, a controller with a home made pcb with 7 segment display… until you produce batches of 100s of parts the price is fair. Filmomat is offering a full automatic solution, here they have the semi automatic, something in between would make no sense for them.
