Great video, but he failed to mention the use of Keith Jarrett's pipe organ music from the ECM album "Hymns Spheres" used throughout the film along with Tangerine Dream's music. I think it added an element to the film that worked very well adding a lot of tension and an otherworldly quality. Music from an old German pipe organ built in 1775 mixed with modern synthesizers and Mellotrons worked brilliantly.

De wereld is toch al kapot
Dank Mike, mooi eerbetoon. Ik zag de film voor het eerst op mijn kleine zwart-wit Tv-tje in mijn studentenkamer toen een van de Duitse stations hem (nagesynchroniseerd!) uitzond. Jaren later gelukkig in 35-mm projectie tijdens een van de filmweekends van de Vlaamse Dienst voor Filmcultuur. Uitstekende film, maar het origineel van Clouzot is nog beter! 😊
Zelfs nooit van gehoord, maar nu een "must see". Dank je Mike!

Dit is wel een trip down memory lane… Of ik de film bij verschijnen gezien heb weet ik niet meer. Wel is-tie een keertje op ARTE geweest & dat heb ik wel gezien. Andy kende ik omdat zijn broer en ik op de kunstacademie samen filmpjes enzo maakten; ben ook wel eens met hem op stap geweest in Enschede. Dat is minstens een keer uitgedraaid in een kloppartij in Mario’s snackbar, omdat drie eikels opmerkingen maakten over mijn bril. Andy pikte dat niet, en ging ze te lijf. Uiteindelijk kwam de politie eraan te pas. Andy deed aangifte, wat ik weer heel grappig vond. Heel sneu dat hij zo jong overleden is.
Bedankt voor het delen van deze mooie herinnering!
