it looks great!
Looks great! and a very handy sew this time of year! :)
Woooooot im ready im ready!!!!
It's been so so long since i heard someone pronounce Norfolk like a local. Brings me back.
@@tattooedmomma Born and raised here! 😊
So for the front panel for clarity, you applied sf101 to the vinyl which would prevent stretch but also provides some stiffening and structure itself, then fused foam over that, then applied wawak profuse stiff over that which is like a decovil light and provided more stiffening and structure behind the body of the foam, then applied sewfuse plus over that which provided more stiffening and structure? Vinyl + sf101 + fuseable foam+ profuse stiff + sewfuse plus Why so much? Are you applying the sewfuse for stiffening or for helping holding all the other interfacing layers underneath it on better? Just trying to understand because I’ve never heard of having that much used at once like that.
@@chfman4912 I used the same interfacing for the entire exterior - front, back, zipper gusset, and bottom gusset. Each bag is different in what I need from my materials, so I utilize multiple products to build my fabrics to the exact body and structure I desire. As I was privileged to be on the testing team, I knew this was intended to be a structured bag. My vinyl was a dream to sew with, but it's very soft, has a bit of stretch, and has no structure, so I started with Goldstar Tool's 101 equivalent which helped to reduce the stretch. The pattern calls for stabilizer, and as I was stitching the face on I knew I wanted to use foam to give the face depth. However, foam alone doesn't provide much structure, so I added Profuse Stiff. At this point I was almost there with the structure, and I didn't want to add anymore bulk. Rather than another layer of Profuse Stiff, I added a layer of SewFuse Plus and it was perfect. My vinyl had a bit more body at the seams which made it easier to sew and provided additional durability, but no extra bulk. And, voila! A fantastical Nixie doppelgänger bag was created! lol I hope that helps explain the choices I made. 😊
@ actually I was on the testing team too 😉. I just never used that many or varied layers of interfacing and stabilizers and certainly not in my version which I made from safiano style marine vinyl that is also kind of thin and a little give. I just used sf101 and pellon foam on mine which was enough for the appliqué stitching to have depth and made it structured enough for me anyway especially after the binding was added in the interior which gave it bones. I did two layers of lining material on the back panel instead of a zipper pocket lining so that the zipper pocket actually spans the entire back panel. That also coupled with the sf101 and foam on the back panel gave enough for that panel to be structured enough. I guess it comes down to how hard or stiff someone’s preference is. Mine is firm. Not very squishy. But not rock hard either. Bagmakers are like mad scientists tinkering with their personal formulas I think 🧐
It's awesome!
Cute 😍
Thank you!
