Through the Roof is a Christian disability charity, with the vision of a world where all people live interdependently, mutually giving and receiving, as God intended. We exist to transform lives through Jesus with disabled people.
The charity’s name comes from the Bible account where some men break through the roof to help their disabled friend meet Jesus (Luke 5). We recognise that every person is made in the image of God and has inherent value and worth.
Many of our dedicated trustees, staff team, volunteers and donors have personal experience of disability and seek to make a positive difference to the lives of disabled people and their families by:
Providing life-changing opportunities for disabled people
Equipping the Christian community to fully involve disabled people
We achieve these aims by delivering three activity programmes:
International Mission
Church Support
Holidays and Groups

How can a wheelchair can bring hope and a future? #wheelchair #WheelsForTheWorld #disabilityrights
Many disabled people in developing nations have to endure the indignity of crawling or being carried - or remain house-bound. We can change that.
Over 80 million disabled people worldwide need a wheelchair but don’t have the money or opportunity to buy one (WHO). That's why our Wheels for the World team in the UK refurbish wheelchairs, making them as-new. The chairs are then transported to Africa and Asia where volunteer therapists fit them.
Buy an Alternative Gift for a friend or family member and transform a disabled person's life forever. Visit our online shop at: throughtheroof.org/product-category/alternative-gifts/

Such a beautiful couple ❤️ So awesome to see God working through them.
This is brilliant. Thank you so so much for doing this!!
🫂👩❤️👩💕💕💕 xxx
God bless you and your friends ❤
I find this an amazing story, thank you very much for sharing. I think you are amazing.
<3 :D
Those are amazing friends
Indeed! One for all and all for one… Thanks for watching and catching the vision for a better world where no one gets left watching from the side, and everyone has access, knows they belong and is commissioned to use their skills and talents in God’s world.
Aye. When I was in middle school, one of my mates, Stuart, had palsy and between periods there was a group of us that would carry Stu's chair between floors of our school building, and piggy-back him to follow his chair. Stu moved with us and we with Stu. Stu ran past us decades ago, but Stu's Team lives on. I can't count the number of chairs I've hauled since school days... around less--updated buildings in town or in/out of hard places with tight ramps... you'll spot the ones having trouble. Once on Team Stu, always Team Stu. Stu moves, we move. Let's all move together. Thanks for sharing this. Good on ye.
Thanks so much for sharing your friend Stu’s wheelbarrow moments - and for making them happen! Bring on the days when they aren’t needed so often because accessibility gets built in. Bless you and Stu’s Team.
Your wheelbarrow moment reminds me of the story one of the gentlemen on the channel 60 Symbols tells about he and other friends of Stephen Hawking getting a beer after a talk in Newcastle, featuring some very steep stone steps and a determination to not accept that the route was inaccessible. It's a lovely story told by someone who clearly thought the world of his friend. The video is A Beer with Stephen Hawking and the actual story starts at 10min 10sec.
Thank you for sharing that - and for the details so we can look it up. It sounds like it captures that same vision for disability inclusion that Through the Roof (@TTRChangesLives) is praying will spread around the world. Bless you for catching the vision and sharing it.
My young married Sunday School class was forced to move upstairs and there was no elevator. Two men, with another as backup spotter, carried me in a fireman's carry up the stairs while a fourth helped my husband bring my wheelchair and belongings upstairs. They did this every week for six months until we moved, after my husband finished his degree and started a new job.
Thanks so much for sharing your wheelbarrow moment! That sounds like a great demo of church disability inclusion, which is fantastic. So glad your church friends really ‘got it’ and saw the need to make sure you were included. Praying for churches to think ahead and make all meetings and groups accessible.
Amen. So true. Many thanks for reminding us of these wonderful truths. Looking forward to seeing you at the other side of the storm ... or maybe during it, God's will be done 🙋⛵
Praise God for this ministry.
Wonderful. That touched my heart. God bless everyone in the video and everyone behind the scenes and everyone you seek to minister to. I'll ask the Lord to make a way so that I can share all about your ministry in my church. Shalom. xx
Thank you sister, You are a living testimony that we can ALL be used for God, no matter what our abilities 🙌🙏💙
Very helpful video for churches and youth/children's ministry groups. Easy to listen to, straightforward and practical advice. Thank you, Triona, and Through The Roof!
I so like this. I not called to minister but felt pushed to do something more and stepping out a comfortable zone is hard in the end I did. I feel called to help support those with autism and comorbid issues with that. And other disabilities. I 50 odd stepping out from a social anxiety to speaking about my disabilities and my children! Even granchild! God works in mistirus ways! Very! Not just for churches or my church but also in co production groups for none christain organizations too! Thanks for sharing anything possible I say! 😉
Lord show that boy your love for him
