@AtanSol-ro4ss When playing US DDs you have to understand their role. US DDs are knife fighters. They excell at close combat and killing other DDs. Having said that, they are also jacks of all trades. You can do almost everything with them but you need to set your priorities when in game. The way I approach them is this: First thing I take a look at the team rosters before the match starts. I identify any major threats starting from enemy DDs and work my way up. When the match starts I know what my role is. I am not there for the kills. I am there to spot, to cap to kill the enemy DD without dying if possible and lastly I act as a deterrent for the enemy pushing in. When up against a CV I try to avoid contact with enemy planes. My strongest weapon is my stealth, so I try to keep that as long as possible. I deactivate my AA and keep my Air detection circle active and try to approach the cap using terrain. If the enemy don't know where I am it is easier for me to ambush the enemy DD and kill it. I do not deploy smoke unless it is for my survival. Remember, smokes are a clear indicator that you are in the area and are huge torpedo magnets. The team that usually loses its DD first is the one that tends to abandon the flank as they are scared shitless of being detected and not being able to see you. So you have a responsibility to your team to stay alive so you can keep doing your job and win the match. You have the right attitude. You have the necessary aggression to play this class but you need to remember it should be controlled aggression and you have to be smart about it. Also, zoom your gun camera out 2 clicks and you'll get more hits.

no SE indeed, it is very heavy torp build with RPF, CE and Swift in silence, with 20 point commander no room for SE. I may change it eventually once I get to 21 points

I see. Double-checked from my Gaming PC and it shows 1440p60HDR. Go figure...

@@AtanSol-ro4ss It wasn't. You always expose your side, stand still surrounded by enemies and get more damage than inflict because of it. Nothing bad about it, just play as you need to enjoy. This is just my comment

Akatsuki is 10 km torps actually, Mutsuki is 8km :)

There is an icon with a gearbox at the top left corner of the battle screen. You ctrl+click left mouse button on the gearbox and deselect "% hit point" or something like this in the list of options. Hopefully it helps.

Well, first battle went well. I am generally skeptical about torp. dd influence on the battle outcome, but we shall see. ;)

Well, with 3km minimum distance for a max damage they are easy to chase in a destroyer and kill. I do it all the time now without any fear :)

Yes, indeed, Lightning is my favorite DD right now. I even hesitate to move my captain to Daring and play Daring instead. :) World of Warships is a game after all - it should be fun and playing Lightning is fun! :)
