❤❤❤
About the Middle East, i 'd like to add sth. , in Egypt under the Mamluk rule (the 13th century), at the time there was an "almeh" who was an Egyptian woman who was skilled in poetry, singing, and dancing. They were present at festivals and entertainments, and even hired as mourners at funerals. And they had a huge part in the Egyptian Belly dance. There is a book called tarab in the era of mamaluk Sultans. And we know some of their names (almehs), like "Haifa" she was mentioned in this book and another one called "Khoba Al Awada". By the way your video was amazing ❤
Thank you for sharing the info. I would love to read more about it. Do you know English translations or sources about it ? I would love to promote this kind of knowledge more ❤️
@@beedancecompany - Wikipedia: Almah (Egyptian dancer) - UA-cam: almeh dance ( tamer aziz channel I really recommend this channel) - Google Scholar: Painting in the Fatimid period: a reconstruction Unfortunately most of the sources that I know are in arabic. - Youm7 article: العالمة مهنة عرفها المصريون منذ عهد المماليك انحصرت فى النوادى in this articles when you translate it, you will notice word "scientist", it was meant to be "almeh" but was not translated accurately. There a book called الطرب في عصر المماليك (Tarab in the Mamluk Era by “Muhammad Qandil Al-Baqli”) Unfortunately it didn't translate into English yet.
The chhau u showed isn't puruliya chhau... it's Mayurbhanj chhau from Odisha
Dear Sabita. Thank you for your comment. The Mayurbhanj Chhau has similarities to the style from Purulia. However, there are few distinct differences between those two. The biggest difference is that Mayurbhanj Chhau is performed without any masks. The crown masks that you see in our video are the most recognizable feature of Purulia Chhau. If you wish to see a beautiful example of Mayurbhanj Chhau please see this link: ua-cam.com/video/JQFMS-d-AKs/v-deo.htmlsi=tZovLhYfnVIXsnvn
@@beedancecompany the video clip u showed in ur video is from my town Jeypore!! They recited that as Odisha Chhau so I considered it as Mayurbhanj chhau ! Thanks for your info!
Chau isn't a classical dance!!
Dear Sabita the Chhau dance is included in the list of Indian classical dances by the Indian Ministry of Culture. However, it is not regonized by many classical tractates as one.
@@beedancecompany please check your resources... According to Sangeet Natak Academy there are only 8 classical forms in India.. Being from The Field Of Odissi the classical dance of Odisha.. I know for sure that Chau isn't classical!! The recognised classical dances are Odissi Bharatnatyam Kathak Kuchipudi Kathakali Mohiniattam Sattriya Manipuri
Odissi is the oldest!! As well Bharatnatyam
Bharatanatyam is considered the oldest by researchers because of the archaeological evidence. However, all mentioned styles have a very long tradition.
@@beedancecompany you are wrong in this factor.. Odissi is considered as the oldest even by the archeological researchers! Because Bharatnatyam looks a lot like Natya shastra dance style but it was developed by Sadhilzh(Sadirs) Devadasis in Tamilnad in accordance with natya Shastra... but Odissi has its roots directly from the 1 century BCE because Odissi sculptures were found in Khandagiri and Udaygiri caves of Odisha which were built in 1 century BC..We can even sum up as Odissi and Bharatnatyam are of the same age! Because Both have their citation in Bharat munis natya Shastra which was written in 500 BCE! But in the current style of dances Odissi is the oldest because of its lineage to land! Bharatnatyam changes its form from Devadasi style or Sadirattam same as Odissi because Odissi was performed by Devadasis in Odisha temples!
Combining history of dance and history as taught about royalty, wars, empires adds the element of humanity of over time. Thank you.

We are very happy this video is helpful :) I hope your presentation was a success.
I was hoping to learn about theShemakhinskaya dance. Say a video but description was in a foreign language
If Azerbaijani dance groups are of your interest I would recommend a research of Farima Berenji. You can see one of her dances in our video. She is dance ethnologist recognised by the UNESCO. Her TED talk is in English so is many of her materials. You can find her details on a website -> farimadance.com/. I hope it helps :).
