i need to know the music track name
I understand every part of this clip. The only change you can expect is to change yourself and get out.
Walking from the bathroom to bedroom, after a shower ( I was wrapped in a towel ) he’s in a room making Vomiting noises (4 years ago)
Oh, boy. I wasn't even the one in the abusive relationship, just witness to my mother's, and this is so real. Creeping around in your own home, so frightened to even be there that when my mother picked me up from my grandmother's at night, she'd take us to get food to eat in the car or go to a movie. I was about eight, staying up past midnight away from home with my mom just to avoid him. And I'd stay at friend's houses when I could. The sound of the garage door opening was the cue for me to run to my room and lock the door. All the while, I was deeply worried for my pets stuck in the house. The house that my mother was paying the rent for, by the way, and that he never contributed a dime to. And I know that these abusive partners can and do horrifically warp your mind, but I still have to say, when you're in the superior financial position, your own child doesn't want to be at home and resents you, your home is no longer a home, just ... why? Why are you still there? I just don't understand. I know there are many circumstances where due to money or fears over child custody women can't easily escape, but my mother's mindset during that time will always be baffling and, yes, infuriating to me.
I found myself getting tense just watching this. I know exactly what she feels like. You have to tell yourself to "breathe."
As a child I saw my mother go through a million times worse than this.
You CANNOT get the help you need in northeast Wisconsin. You might be called a liar like I was, and refused any and all resources from the Rainbow House. I didn't have these specific abuses except the getting called pig regularly. I was spit on, my money was taken, my car forced in his name. I was useless, stupid, crazy, fat. If I left "his" car would be reported stolen and I would go to jail. There was no getting away. When he decided he wanted another woman to move in and was done with me, he alleged abuse & violence and was believed without question. He was able to get a restraining order and an eviction (even though I was moved out for 3 weeks) to make sure I couldn't get an apartment. Funny the things a violent rich man can do.
This has been my life for nearly 30 years. Please Lord give me strength.
This is why every woman needs to make her own money, to have the power to leave.
The wife is not a clown !! She is some human😫😫🤬🤬💢💢
God help me. Please.
He's a bit ornery, but this is NOT abuse 😒
Damn, this short film focused on couples and relationships. But for some reason, I could relate to this lady. I'm 18. And my mom treats me like this 😢 and what's worse is that my father knows everything but doesn't even care. He doesn't care about what I do unless it disappoints my mom. And she's disappointed at almost everything I do. So, I just get double torture from him. Whenever I try to talk back to my mom, she blackmails me. Saying things like they're the ones who give me everything and I have no existence without them. And then she tells my father these, and then he's on me, questioning me why I treated my mother like that. When I was the actual victim
Damn dog, I despise men like this
If anyone reading this is perpetrating this bs. Stop. Just stop it, you lame excuse for a human.
Im glad this film was made to show abuse in the older generation. Its not always the young lovesick adults. Sometimes people are stuck in abuse cycles for decades
This looks so familiar I lived it many years ago, but no more and will never live like this again.
I really want to send this to my mom... she deserves so much better than dad...
Now let's leave blue-eyed people un-bullied for today and show who actually commits most DV
🙌
I believe the emotional/verbal abuse is even worse. No one can see the marks left behind.
This is so powerful. Wow. I could really feel her fear.
My brother-in-law emotionally abuses me when my husband is not around. My mother-in-law and father-in-law cover for him. I don't know what to do except move far away
This is more like gaslighting.
All anyone cares about is couple abuse. The rest of us can just shut up.
I get it, men aren’t always the protagonist
Anyone in an abusive relationship, please : 1) try to speak to someone and share what you're going through. It is so important to COME OUT OF ISOLATION and speak the whole truth to another SAFE person (a priest, social worker, therapist, family member, colleague, nurse, doctor, policeman etc). It is important to put the blame where it belongs: on the perpertrator, not on yourself, even if the abuser makes you think it's your fault. So do not feel ashamed, because THAT is the vicious circle, you believe it's your fault, which makes you feel shame, which lowers your self-esteem even more, so you stay. YOU have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. Resist feeling sorry for the perpetrator, start feeling sorry for yourself, and your children if you have them, they see everything. 2) get help in SAFELY escaping the situation, stay with someone safe if possible, avoid being alone with the abuser as much as possible. 3) please educate yourself, watch videos on youtube, google DV, educate yourself on abusive relationships, coercion, trauma bonding, learned helplessness, the repetition compulsion, the toxic shame cycle, brainwashing, love-bombing, narcissism, pyschopaths, sociopaths, relationship red flags, and complex PTSD. Learning about the problem will help you not go back to it, you will better understand the dynamics compelling you to return to the abuser. Knowledge is power. Take your power back. 4) I would advise any adult or child victim of domestic violence to get therapy as soon as you can to start the healing process. You have complex PTSD. Your soul has been murdered. Women everywhere, GET OUT at the first red flag. We can work today, we can be independent, autonomous, we don't need abusive men. Say NO to abuse. Never ever allow yourself to be abused by ANYONE. Get out at the first sign. And don't look back.
remember, isolation is their favorite tactic. they will manipulate you into turning on your family + friends, or lie to your family + friends to keep you isolated.
they exhume fake confidence off of your energy to mask how they truly feel about themself by bringing you down! they don’t think they’re that great! they just want you dumb enough to believe the illusion!
these demons ONLY do that to bring your confidence down to their level, because within they know they are not worthy of you at all & their confidence is nonexistent, but want to control you to mask it!
if you never feel comfortable around your partner, they’re not the one for you! that’s my testimony! because i feel on cloud 9 with my fiancée & i’ve never felt that around anyone before! true comfort & safety!
i actually didn’t think about elderly abuse in narcissistic relationships, that’s something for grown up children to really acknowledge about their parents. they hide so much from you, you’d think they were both saints!
These are the type of relationships that make you sick. God forbid.
I think, abuse also isn't always that "explicit". The jokes can be backhanded and not directly mean, but still degrading. They might question you, your opinions and choices a lot (covering it as just being curious or well-meaning). The comments aren't necesseraly considered generally bad, but they hit you exactly at your weak spot (that people outside your relationship might not even know about). The actions might be small, but making you feel like you're less than them. They decide things over your head (maybe about essential things like money). They make fun of you when you're with other people and don't get why you can't just take a "joke". You're also missing the small signs of tenderness and love in your everyday life and might tell yourself that you're partner just "isn't the type" for such things (while secretly you believe that you're just not lovable enough to receive such affection). On the other hand you have learned to mistrust the grand gestures, because you know there's a price attached to them - and you'll be called out ungrateful for not being happy about the effort. You wonder when you lost your selfworth, you once thought you're a strong person who wouldn't let anyone treat you badly... but the "shrinking" happened in small steps and suddenly you find yourself not half the person you once used to be.
He behaves like a monster because she allows it. Standing up to a monster is difficult but with practice you'll see they are just little boys who are afraid of women. Don't be afraid of calling the police each and every time he bullies you.
This is my life now. Help me
Please reach out to your friends and family, therapist. Talk to a therapist, so you would be more confident to leave the abuser. You need someone on your side.
This is precisely why l've told women to have a career, some way to make money, and have a "run fund." Add to it, have bank statements sent to a trusted friend or relative, and SHUT UP about it. I don't care how nice the man seems at first. Keep adding to it. If things go bad, you, your kids, if you have them, will have apartment rent. Could buy a car, and go to a new place. Would you rather wait til you're trapped, broke, and abused? Start that "run fund." NOW. And SHUT UP about it.
He went to prison ❤
My mom is married to a man like this, I wish she could see that my father is making her live a hell, I just want the to divorce ..
I’m a man I think, she starts talking before she walks into the room and expects me to know what she’s talking about. She asked me to help her do things and they’re done. She finds reason to tell me I don’t listen to her. I asked for reassurance I get none just silence Everything I have done for her she has complaints afterwards always Caught her having lunch with a stranger Saw a text from a lover I’m being used But I have a good heart I did everything without expecting to get anything in return; and that’s exactly what I got Doesn’t matter I know God I’ve done the best I could do
Five minutes of this felt like hours--seeing some of your situation play out is hard.
He’s an evil monster
These men and women are leeches. At first you might not notice them and start very little. With things you're strong enough to brush off. Until they drain and drain little by little, they grow fat amd meaner and you grow weak and weary. And they'll still crave more and more from you. Blame you for no longer filling them like before. Protect your peace, protect your joy. It can already be so hard to find in this life. ❤ Please stay safe everyone.
This reminds me of my grandma except that she never left my grandpa 😥 My grandpa was extremely emotionally abusive and angry to my grandma and physically abusive to my dad and uncles Im so glad my dad didn't follow suit, my Grandpa ended up dying in a nursing home alone
And JD Vance opposes divorce for women who are married to their abusers, saying it’s “better for the children” FFS vote 💙
Poor men are always trying to assert control because they did f**k all with their lives. It isn’t our fault y’all nothing but a bunch of mediocre, average at best l0sers.
That was so painful to watch, poor lady.
"Walking on ego-shells."
What people don’t talk about and give just become aware of is sexual coercive control, it’s so dark I don’t think many people could handle a video on it. I have suffered for 10 long years and I hate him for it
I just wept for myself, thank you
