No, you will need a router. A switch only transports traffic from one port to another port. If you are connecting multiple hosts (computers, game console, camera, smart phones, etc), you need something that assigns an IP address to each of those hosts. This is what a router (via the DHCP protocol) will do for you. This is also why only use ONE router connected to your fiber converter, but if you need more ports than your router has, THEN use a switch. For example, my entertainment center in my living room and bedroom each have 3 hosts (Xbox, Smart TV and AppleTV), so that's 6 ports right there. I have only 4 on my router. So I run a single run from each port, to four rooms (for me 3 bedrooms, 1 living room), and then put a switch in each of those 4 locations. So I have 28 ports (4 X 8 port gigabit switches: 1 port goes to router/ 7 ports available for network devices). Without a router, every device assigns itself an IP. Now, if you're really motivated you could go to every device and hard-configure them to an IP address within a single network (e.g. 192.168.1.x) but this is a really bad idea for network security reasons. Your router also acts as a firewall between your internal network and the outside internet using NAT and other things.

403 forbidden is normally the error when you haven't logged in correctly (username, password). I'd go back and rewatch the part where you use the markings on your PVS6 to A) make sure you're logging into YOUR solar system (e.g. you're in a home with other neighbors who also have a PVS6) and then B) use the Serial number to figure out YOUR password (this keeps your neighbor out of your system). The logic being, they won't have access to your SN to guess the password.

To be more specific, do the last 3 digits of your WIFI network name and the last 3 of your Seriel Number match? If not, you're on the wrong PVS6. If so, go to @04:26 in the video and make sure the password is entered correctly.

Awesome. Yes, if you're running the newer Wifi protocol (WIFI 6 or higher) you can hit the 500M up and down. The drawback might be your home devices might still be older (e.g. I have an Apple TV that ironically will hit it Wifi, but when I switch it over to ethernet/wired it's a 100M cap, because it's a 100M network card) for wifi or the network wired interface.

Yes, I did. I'm the type of person who reads the directions before I even pull anything out of the box. And, I'll likely read it more than once if there's any sort of complexity. I'm sensing your implication is the instructions were not referenced or followed. Neither is the case.

That was my experience. As you can see I got some "shade" from people saying "You didn't calibrate," "You didn't wait for GPS," and my personal favorite, "You're not a good drone pilot." However, I fly DJI mini 2, Air2, FPV, and home built FPVs just fine. You tell them to pitch, they pitch. You tell it to ascend, it ascends. This Vivitar would pick and choose what commands to do (or not) and then do it in erratic amounts. Sorry to hear your experience was the same as mine. I swapped out the props after the first incident, made sure the props were now good (power up, ascend to 2 feet, land) and then never flew it again.

So what I explain in about 2-3 minutes he shows you 6-7 variations and explains over about 10 minutes. You then go back to the beginning to get the basic configuration. I was planning on making a members only video to show the EXACT configuration I did.. but IDK... this video's only got a handful of views so not sure it's worth it to make it members only

Capacity is the main downside. Fiber is going to have nearly zero interference, low loss and higher speeds. Is there a specific reason for coax?

@@SchubertTech I think majority of residential fiber installs convert to coax since homes already have coax. I guess its easier and more convenient for the installers too.

@@arao888 I guess you could, but I've been in structured wiring since 1988, and we've been advocating for pre-wire to include CAT5E/6 for decades now. Older construction, yes, will be coax but most installers will have a spool of Cat5E on their truck and run it for you. In my case the home developer ran fiber into the home, the ISP installer installed fiber to ethernet converter, and finally ran Cat5E into my house. I had him run it across the garage into my central hallway. There is my WIFI router and then I ran my own cat5E throughout the house.

I can't argue. I also have this nagging feeling the box might be wrong. Gigabit is so common now, as mentioned, in 2024. It even says, "New for 2024". Why make a router "new for 2024" that's got features common in 2014? If no one enters the giveaway, I might break the plastic and push a gig to it and see what happens.

​I looked up that model of router online and every where I looked said it has 100Mbps Ethernet ports. My gut tells me that router will have at best some sort of a dual core CPU. I upgraded my broadband internet connection to 1Gbps couple days ago and had to upgrade the router to take better advantage of it. Reason being the router I was using had features that was common for routers 7 years ago. The router I was using had a dual core processor and the processor usage would go really high once you reached 600Mbps mark. At that point the there was no consistent speeds to be had it was all over the place and would not even hit 940Mbps. Even though the router I was using before was a Wi-Fi 5 router with 1Gbps WAN port & in fact had 1Gbps Ethernet ports. I believe it's down fall was it only had a dual core processor and it could not just handle the 1Gbps broadband connection. I guess 1Gbps broadband connection was not common thing for people to have at home 7 years ago.

I bought mine on Amazon and in the photos you see that there is a logo on the display and the front of the tank brace but there is just "Rowing Machine" on the tank brace and no logo on the display on mine.

@@petrbohacek 14 liters, or about 3.7 gallons. If you fill half to 2/3 full, then you're about 7 liters - 10 liters. I ended up having mine around "level 4" which is about 10 liters for moderate resistance training. I'm looking more for strength and less for cardio. If you're just trying to burn calories you MIGHT want lighter resistance (around 7 liters of water, or 1/2 filled).

I added the music with UA-cam's editor, so yes. However, I did just go back and edit it lower the volume. It will take it about an hour (I believe) to re-master the audio. If it's easier to hear, I'll see if it's better for you. If it's not, I'll go ahead and just remove it. To be honest, like most people I don't like hearing my own voice so I thought others would like not hearing me *drone on* :) (Pun intended)

You are right. Sometimes I switch the word and usually in my editing I catch it. The wire is NOT coax, but is Cat5E 4-pair twisted wire. So if I'm following, the installed came in fiber into your home, it goes into the fiber converter, and then comes out RJ45 and RG6 (Cat5e and coax), which both go to your wifi/router? Does your router have a coax OUT (marked TV, or something similar)? TBH, I can't think of a reason you'd need coax when having a fiber into your home, and a network cable (RJ45) except for legacy TV (e.g. pay per view shows, satellite TV, etc).

Yes, I consider it exceptionally bad form to mention my stream on someone else's stream (in chat). IDK, but it's just not respectful. I've seen streamers do it on others stream, and it's just cringe IMHO. Now if the streamer brings it up, as Dibble did here, then I will mention it 100%. I am slowly building. Interesting points. Trump mentioned going often after China, but I hadn't heard he directed FAA to leave drone's alone. Is there a specific source or article that you saw this? Agree with your point that banning DJI severely hinders STEM. My entry into drones was STEM related, as I wanted to give my son-in-law (10 years old at the time) an alternative, positive hobby and I thought a DJI Tello was a good possibility. You could write software programs to make the Tello fly a specific pattern, and flying is fun. 2 for 1!! Well, he ended up not being interested and later I started thinking, "I actually like this but I want a bigger, more stable drone with more range."

@@SchubertTech I’d highly doubt the “directive” was on record anywhere. The truth be told, one of my daughter’s patients is one of the Trump family. Believe me or not, my Wife and I were invited by my daughter to attend a dinner event that she was invited to. It was a very boring musical performance, but it WAS at the family gold course in Bedminster (NJ). I felt it necessary to complain (in a NICE way 🙂) about the TFRs being issued whenever the President was in town and the harm it was causing to my flying time. Seriously! Obviously, I was just kidding and even asked for permission to fly the premises during the weekend. He’s worried his job is in jeopardy as the (NEVER A FIREFIGHTER) commissioner, Laura Kavanagh, is “hunting down” the members of service who boo’d the AG. @@PowderMill No, no need to send pics. I believed you, I just am a prior military, intel and ops related background. "Trust but verify" is big to me. So many times I'm told something, but when I go back to an authoritative source I find things are out of context or "misleading" (to put it nicely). In this case, "Congress bans DJI drones," is an example. It's just in subcommittee at this point, so it's the equivalent to "the good idea fairy," suggestion status, and they've been kicking this can down the road for years. I understand your alignment and support for the former POTUS. However for me, having a Top Secret/SCI clearance with a Poly for Counter-Intelligence, I know (precisely) what those specific cover sheets go over. And to know that type of material left a SCIF, got hidden, and given excuses (e.g. "I used my mind to declass") to so far over the line, you should never be trusted with TS SCI material, and ESPECIALLY caveated programs. There are certain types of information that are segmented because of how damaging they are to human life (HUMINT) or to intelligence gathering (trade craft), or our capabilities. Those types are in the mix. There is zero material from those programs a civilian should ever have no matter your prior affiliation (POTUS, SecDef, Dir of NSA/FBI/DEA/etc). I didn't vote for Hillary because of the way she handled classified and Benghazi. If I'm a fair, unbiased, objective judge of a candidate's viability, I have to disqualify Trump the same as Hillary when they both did the same. Albeit, Trump's case is 100X worse than Hillary. Hillary did not have Nuclear Command and Control (NC3) classified, as there's no reason for the State Dept to have it and she has no "need to know." OK, enough on that... As far as cameras, the logic is that you're extremely limited to the field of view. If something is coming up from behind, you'll never see it. If you watch a fair number of drone crash videos, it's extremely common that drones hit objects when flying backwards and sideways (relative to the camera position). It's much less common to fly straight forward into something unless it's a pilot skill issue. For the Cessna or manned flight, I do know when you go for instrument rating certification they black out the windows purposely so you're 100% relying on instruments. Your question is a good one. My father in law is a pilot instructor, so I'll have to ask him. If I were to make a guess, the reason it's ok is that pilots announce their position, and intent (e.g. "landing on runway", "Taking off", etc) over Aviation Radio. So you get a sense of who is where and what they're doing. Drone pilots aren't allowed on AR, nor would probably use them anyway.

I flew it a few times, calibrated a few times, and it was always as you see in the video: fairly unstable. I've had countless people say "calibrate it," etc, but I did. Other's "Oh you're not a good pilot." Ummm, well I have a brand new DJI FPV, 2 year old Air 2 and 3 year old Mini 2 that I've never crashed (ok, except the one time I thought it might be cool to take off inside a 30" by 30" by 30" hole and the prop wash instantly flipped the mini2).
