Colorado State Representative and HCLC member Elizabeth Velasco represents a district in a rural resort community where 60% of the land is public. She wants to ensure that the oil and gas industry is properly regulated and held accountable, as it disproportionately affects low-income and minority communities due to the proximity of drilling operations to their neighborhoods.

Curt Shannon: "My Love for Oak Flat Comes from Rock Climbing there."
Supporting "Protect the Dolores" sounds appealing, but we must consider the implications for our wildlife and public lands. The expansion of public campgrounds to accommodate increasing tourist numbers threatens to commercialize untouched wilderness along the Dolores River. This change could lead to habitat destruction, ecosystem disruption, infrastructure development and a loss of solitude for visitors who cherish nature. Wildlife could be displaced due to human activities. When considering any National Monument, one might envision vibrant wildlife thriving in their natural habitats. However, this image is often overshadowed by human activity. Don't be fooled into thinking that designating these lands as protected will inherently preserve them. #ProtectTheDolores #nooneismining #keepthewild #ptotectourwildlife #protectrivers #letlocalsdecide #notmeninsuits #dontbefooled #dolorescanyon #doloresriver #rafting #nationalconseravation #grandjunction #gateway #telluride #dolores #cortez #localsbeingsilenced #beworried #colorado #keepcoloradowild #coloradowillbethenewcalifornia
How sad!!!!
Whah whah whah. The United States has paid these people for too long leaving them dependant. You have the land you were given plus you can go out and get a job and buy any other land you want just like everyone else lady. Go ahead and raise another generation of victims by crying, "give me more free sh!t"! When Europeans came here these tribes were killing each other and taking each others possessions. Make something happen in your lives instead of dwelling on how you are victimized as a group of government leaches.
❤
You go girl!❤
Love and blessings from Safford Az. I stand with you all! 💯

This fake “indians” migrated here from Mongolia 🇲🇳, you are not indigenous to this land ~ X.Saint
You know a person is far from oppressed, if a 13 year old is the fighter… lol
Naelyn Pike, you are a true worrier born out of your ancestors' blood and spirits. Your voice is so powerful, concise and precise. It makes me so sad to hear your words of anguish. I wish you the VERY BEST to resolve this unwarranted matter once in for all. US Government congress officials please listen to this young lady's words and give what she and her people need. After all it is their land.❣❣❣🙏🙏🙏
Mi amor ❤❤❤❤❤para mis hermanos aborígenes indígenas de América del Norte es su tierra y no es de los invasores extranjeros
Creat water. Make shelters. Creat farms ornges aples strawberry potato. Buy buffalo s farm
It is an honor to know that there are some rare young women who think of others feelings, prides and troubles today. Native Americans have been treated with prejudice for far too long. I've always been an Allie of these people because right is right, and evil is evil.
Glad to see that their are Human Beings that care about our environment , because government and industry couldn't care less . The vast devastation they have inflicted on the planet and continue to do so is so evil . You have a huge job ahead of yourselves . Keep up the good fight , Humanity and the planet needs you .
Oklahoma:FORTSILL INDIAN SCHOOL Lawton,Okla. ❤*Class of 71*❤ One of our teachers was born a POW,from GERNIMOS Band.
What a beautiful person, a true warrior. How much better the earth was when Europeans stayed in Europe.
Hold your line woman❤
Laura the Dolores Canyon is not your community to worry about..
amareohopa. I WAS hoping i could hear her speaking apache. i love languages and am fascinated by how they all sounds so unique.
A lot of what she said was very true. But native hypocrisy is still hypocrisy. I grew up surrounded by native people and reservations. The native people polluted the land, the air and water with waste, trash and burning garbage. The mess the native protesters left in North Dakota after the oil pipeline protest was horrendous. If you want to lecture us, you had best clean up your own act.
Victim Hood 😂
And people still doubt a God in Heaven. This child makes more sense than anyone I have heard and listened to in decades. I am slight but still blooded in what she says. The country should take note here..... Thank you young one speaking truth. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⛩️
While I can't say I agree with everything said here, I do believe that Oak Flat should not be mined, and all that it holds should be kept safe. Good luck in your fight.
Absolutely agree ! I live in N. Dakota where the governor is bought and payed for by the gas and oil industry . He also allows chemical spraying in the skies which has had detrimental effects . He is going to serve in the incoming government administration and drill , drill , drill the hell out of this state that already has a great number of drill sites and is going to cover the entire state with the carbon pipeline which will finish off turning this state into a wasteland and a environmental disaster .
John Dutton Owns That Land Now Get Lost!
Fight for what is in your heart 💜❤️.....
What a shame! I hope they dont!
The stories and traditions she talks about, was destroyed by alcohol. The desire and ability to be useful was totally removed by crack and meth
As A Din'e I stand with you,you told the Truth now get together and work no more setting around I been told waking up early and pray The holy one walk around Jesus.
STFU. Your people didnt grow from the earth on the land you claim was stolen from you. Your ancestors fought for it and subjugated the tribe that was there prior, just as my ancestors fought and subjugated yours. Conquest is a human condition. I guess your ancestors shouldve fought harder. Get a job and do something with your life, rather than talking like you walked the trail of tears.
You are a Smart Lady !
You are right little sister. Look at what is happening in North Carolina and Tennessee!!!
she doesn't look like a black woman like kurimeo and others claim they all are?
God bless this Apache young woman and the rest of the Native peoples. They all were wronged by the government then and now. It is a horrible thing that was done to the Native peoples across the United States, done through greed and senseless hate.
From sherwood forest uk robinhood and maid marian.best wishes
Nice videos you make.our family.all
Every reservation, plot of land that is currently, and hopefully in the future need signs erected as you enter and leave, " Resilience We are still here" maybe the colonizers will see that they are humans created in the images of Our Creator too. And have unalianable privrledges snd rights too.
Truth !! Pure truth!!! I love you you
Mining ⛏️ They are mining the petrified root systems from the giant, biblical trees that the Creator ordered to have cut down before the flood,so the Nephilim giants could not climb them to escape the deluge. Quartz; we've been taught is nothing but stone. That might be but it was once sap, the life blood of the these spectacular trees. Just like our blood contains minerals, like copper and small traces of gold, so did the biblical cedars; on a much larger scale. For more info: Search - hangman1128
Suck it up babe, big business always wins.
Ilegal mexicas are a criminal just for came to work in the land the was stolen the same way they did to your people it hurts
All AMERICAS= INDIOLAND. LONG LIVE Wuwuwuti.
“American” society still dwells on slavery, but we do not recognize the genocide that took place on the grounds where we have our homes smh
You are so brave
What a great speaker, a clear channel of truth that Americans need to hear. Thanks you!
Ya think? She sounds like every Indian caricature we've ever heard. Why can't any of these people communicate in something other than a dull, monotone, droll? I was half expecting her to smoke a peacepipe.
Mexicans are also native……their land was taken and are treated badly. Apaches are originals to this land. Geronimo spoke Spanish.
Apaches HATED Mexicans more than Anglos, Geronimo himself hunted Mexicans
Never were enemies. Our tribe the strongest 💪🏽
They will have a beautiful reservoir is what they will have. Ridiculous video.
Well said keep up the fight.
Listen up America.. 🙏👊🪶🦌🦅🐎🌲✨✨✨
The problem is Washington is filled with nothing but greedy and corrupt people, few if any are different there . The ones in power . And unfortunately they will stop at nothing to achieve their goals, which is to fill their pockets. Even if it means destroying the aboriginal people land , and ecosystem, or the whole wide world for that Mather. Again the problem is greed and corruption and it’s not going away . 😢
