    Easier way is to spin both together then fold it back on itsself and whenyou let go it twists and spins together. Done. Easy

    I use quilting cotton for coasters. It's not batik fabric, so it has a pale side and a bright side. Every time I wind it, it ONLY keeps the pale side out, so my colors just don't work right. It looks like your cotton twine is bright. How do you do that??

    It's so obvious!! You are amazing! I make rag rugs as well but I've never made them with twined fabric. And just using that spot of glue? Pure genius! I've been making rugs for years and connecting using the larks head method. I've been trying to twine heavy duty plastic bags that contain wood pellets that heat our house. And now you've given my more thoughts!! Yay! Thank you!

    This is a great idea! I'm adding this to my DIY list so I can watch it again if I forget the method Be careful using the glue because it may go through the fabric and burn your fingers, so I would recommend using...maybe a thimble or something to protect your finger tips.

    You do some beautiful rugs. So time intensive. I hope you charge a pretty penny for them. The direct warp fascinates me. I'm a weaver. I don't generally do rugs, so that style of warping is new to me. Good way to cut down time warping and cost in rug yarn. What loom are you working on? I wasn't able to see the make. BTW, It is a great video. No one should complain about your video skills. Jill, Oregon

    Just had a thought. Anything that turns can do this. Mayvbe use a crank of something mounted on a block of wood. It just came to mind I saw people making rope like this in ancient ways but they used mules walking to turn the thing that twisted the rope. First samll twines then larger and larger.

    I have a lot of scraps now starting from making masks and then people learned I sewed and gave me their quilt scraps which again appreciated for masks. My thing is upcycling thrift clothing and making jean bags so I didnt have a lot of cotton scraps. Do have a ton of tshirt scraps as I make boleros and do things like make longer sleeves from lace on tshirts etc. I found a good twisting video but dont think my old hands can take that plus the time. Im a fast sewist. Why I dont quilt although I have borrowed some ideas for like front of my jean totes.

    I’ve always used a hand mixer - easier to tie the fabric to the beater.

    • @MyMiaArabella
      @MyMiaArabella Рік тому

      I like this idea! A hand mixer is perfect. Plus you could twist two strips of fabric at once.

    • @colly1952
      @colly1952 Рік тому

      The hand mixer is a great idea, but I no longer have one. But I do have a gadget used to twist hair and I'm thinking if trying it. That thing can twist both ways at the same time if I remember well. I'll come back and edit my comment afer I've tried.

    Oh my gosh, I was just thinking that there was probably a faster way to make fabric twine (that was also easy on the hands and wrist) and I remembered a Barbie I had as a kid that came with a tool to twist her hair... genius hack, will definitely try this! Thanks a million!

    I love Herc’s harlequin markings! As to ticks - I think Redmond offers something with garlic. If you check with Kevin at Hidden Heights Farm - they have lots of goats - he’s talked about what they use. Years ago we used brewers yeast and garlic. 🤷🏻‍♀️ The shed looks good! Moving right along! Thank you JR and Mrs JR! Blessings and Abundance ❤

    Does your clear ruler have slots in it for your rotary cutter? Do you have a regular sewing machine or a heavy-duty one for sewing your hems/ headers?

    • @Wanderingweaver80
      @Wanderingweaver80 Рік тому

      The clear ruler does have slots every half inch. I have several sewing machines and nothing heavy duty. The hems sew pretty easy. I still use my cheap first sewing machine I got from Walmart. It’s simple but a work horse.
