Hey
When looking at brokerage account statements I do not see Individual - TOD. Do all brokerage accounts print that TOD part on the mailed printed statements?
@tedlofland3446 I don't think they send it on a printed statement at M1. I had to ask the chat bot for a copy to fill out and scan and send to the official M1 email address.

I've earned 29 dollars in dividends since Aug 2023. I recently rebalanced my portfolio to weigh heavier with SCHD & DGRO. Q2 Dividends should be good this month!

I'd rather hold my money in a cash reserve/holding account with a more established investment bank like Fidelity or Vanguard, which also pay a comparable interest rate.
Exactly, great point. I am short of the 10k min balance for zero fees starting in May. I think I will transfer to cash and utilize smart transfers to invest on my weekly schedule out of the M1 Cash account.
Wait I thought they discontinued the high yield savings account? They canceled mine. I got an email and everything.
This new account is a Cash account. Think of it as a holding account to park capital before investing. But it does earn APY similar to HYSA. More to come!

Yea, that’s really odd. No real clarity on what type of account this is. It’s neither a checking or savings account. What the hell is it and what’s it use case?
That's exactly what i was thinking... It looks like it is "insured" for 3.75M, but it is vague, and they mention that to utilize this account for funding your invest account with M1. More to come, I am sure.
@@MindsetMoney2 So I’ve heard this account is supposed to mimic the cash sweep function like other brokerages (Fidelity) offer with un-invested cash. What’s goofy about it is that it’s a completely separate account. Other brokerages has this feature built into the brokerage account itself. To be fair, Charles Schwab doesn’t have the feature, you have to manually invest the cash your not using into a Money Market Fund to get interest, like SWVXX. It’s like 5.16 percent as of today. Funny enough, M1 doesn’t offer Money Market Funds. I guess this is their answer to it.
From what I understand any money that is loaned out of this account will not be covered under the insurance, very vague which makes it scary 😱
