This is very cool, GenerateBlocks is a great product
Thank you.. 2024.
Is this the Premium version of Generateblocks or the free one?
Great video - but for most people these applied on many websites would be seen as pretty annoying! I need to see some applications in the real world.
Hi Leo, will you implement animations?
7:45 Create first h2 in page, select, turn on global style, select global style ; Go to next container, create second h2, select, turn on global style, select global style … → Many repetitive steps! 👉 Is it possible to simply copy the first h2 with the already assigned style, and then paste it into the second and third block each, and this pastes an h2 with the global style assigned? That would be my preferred workflow.
4:20 UX feedback: 1) Add container 2) Toggle on [√] Global style 3) Dropdown [ Choose... ▾ ] 👉 You could simplify the interaction design of this by combining 2+3 into just 1 UI element/step. Simply rename the dropdown to [ Choose global style … ] and get rid of the toggle. ℹ Only advantage of separating toggle + style-selector: You could keep the style and temporarily toggle off, and then on again without needing to select the style again. Analogy in code: Commented CSS class which you outcomment again, instead of completely deleting the CSS class and retyping again later. 👍 Toggling but keeping the class is a big flexibility advantage indeed. Is this use case supported in GenerateBlocks? Then this UX is justified. 👉 Still improvable: Make the dropdown a combobox. When toggling on, focus is already in combobox, ready for typing and autocompletion and selecting with ENTER. 👉 As long as you want/have to stay with the dropdown-menu: There's still one possible improvement: As there are possibly anyhow only few classes per block-element-type, maybe the better design is to just preselect the last used one. Then in many cases you are done already. If you want something else then you need to click. Which in the current UX you need to do each time (cumbersome!).
Is it possible to bulk import from a library? Say the Bootstrap icons. The same import group option didn't work for me.
Lov these tutorials! Thanks
horrible background bass on the audio of this video. great video though.
how to start effect after page load, maybe rotating infinity element? (in expl. you've shown only hover )
transitions don't seem to work after page load... only on hover events :/
@@PaulHigginbottom-uh6kp I think that it need to be scale on any types of events not only hover
On Fontawesome there's a copy SVG button now next to the download button.
Hey Leo, can I change the size of the icon?
It has something with the last step. If I paste the code without the last step, size of the icon is good. If I paste the code with the last step, I cannot change the icon size, even if I change height and width. It is really small.
@@nenadmilunov2065 @Leo Hsiang even if to me! It's all correct but when i optimize it with the last step on my block i can't change the size. Is it correct? Nenad did you find the solution then? Thanks
The sales page said this stuff was "pre-built" and can be imported with a "few clicks" Why the hell are we trying to "replicate", and why isn't there any real tutorials on how to use the plugin? This is so frustrating.
Nice!
Don't forget to add the license key in GenerateBlocks->Settings in the WP backend
Leo is my favorite
Why is this all? Where is the animation on scroll? Who needs hover effects now?
wow,. very interesting. How do I change the size and color?
Leo!! It is your new UA-cam channel!????
Nope this is the GB channel. We have a separate one for GP :)
Oh sorry my mistake 🤦♂️ Leo I have a question, generateBlock is different plugin or it's default items in generatpress premium....!?
Great!!!!🎉
Great video! I have a little problem creating the footer with GenerateBlocks. I have tried all possible configurations, width options and hooks types but when I publish the footer 2 vertical blank bands appear on both sides of the footer. Have you had this problem before?
Thanks for the tuto. We very much miss the hover effect demo on the images.
Why don't you use UL for the list? I'm cringing on multiple Hs for that task. Makes no sense semantically.
How do you make this a homepage without the title of the post showing up? Thanks!
You would follow the exact steps in the video and assign to the home page. The "Stay connected..." text isn't the page title.
@@leohsiang7887 Thanks, when I do this, the title "home" shows up
how to make home slider need Video
You'll need a slider plugin if you want one for your site. GenerateBlocks is mainly for styling layouts.
@@elvinabquina7853 without plugin ,, Need mainly make.
You will need a custom solution without a plugin. Features like sliders are best handled by a specific plugin.
@@leohsiang7887 yes.
It would be good to be able to save a global asset library somewhere in the cloud for global access. Just an idea for a future version?
Not sure if that's possible without making things complicated. I think the import/export option mentioned at the end of the video is the best solution for now.
This idea sounds similar to what Kadence will be releasing in the next month or so.
If you maintain a starter site, you can build your own global asset library as part of that. When you clone the site for a new build, you have all your assets.
Yessss I needed to know this! Thank you!
Thanks, Leo, that's very helpful. I hadn't come across Bootstrap Icons before so that's another useful resource I have learned from you.
Glad to hear! I just discovered that last week as well...
When I add a paragraph at the 8:20 second mark, I do not get the spacing options on the right side menu
That is using a headline block from GenerateBlocks with P selected: docs.generateblocks.com/article/headline-overview/ docs.generateblocks.com/article/headline-overview/#element
@@leohsiang7887 thanks for replying! I figured that out finally, but at least it is documented here for others to see.
Thank you for this great video! Any chance you can add the links for the sites you used in this video?
Sorry about that! Links added :)
Hi, I think you forgot to put the links to the websites in... Great resources, thanks Leo
Sorry about that! Links added :)
This would be useful for buttons.
Thank you very much for the content, is there a way to apply effects, transitions or transformations to an image that is inside a container?
I could already solve it, I had a problem with the class to select the image! I appreciate your time for the content of the video * Self-translated text
Thanks Leo, great info on this one! One thing I noticed, after 8 minutes in, you had trouble grabbing the slider control to adjust the color opacity - I find this sometimes too - is this a known issue? I find I have to click somewhere in the middle of the slider, then I can control it! Dave
Hey Dave! Honestly not sure why it happened. Haven't noticed it before. I'll try to see if I replicate it somehow. Let me know if you know how :)
Wow that's impressive. I can already tell once I get used to this it's gonna be painful to not have this available across any non-GB blocks :(
well done
Hi, what's the difference between blocks and pro blocks? Thanks.
Thanks!
Why create two plugins to do one thing? I don't get this logic. If you have a free version, have a free version. But if you have a pro version, it should not be dependent on another plugin or the free version ...
I do like the idea of the Pro plugin including the features or framework or whatever that is in the free version. Then I could just install the pro plugin and have one less plugin on the site. But it seems that the two plugin way of doing things is rather common. For example, SEOPress Pro involve installing two plugins - both the free edition and the pro edition. But why?
@@brentwilson5 I agree .. but why? Too many plugins create bloat and slow your site down. There is no need for that and there are many Pro plugins out there that don't do the "two plugin" model.
@@zensukai It doesn't matter how many plugins you have or activated, It would not slow your site, it depend on how the plugin works.. merging it into one doesn't make your site faster than 2 plugin
Good show Leo. I expect lot more videos in coming time. Please add more ready to use templates also at Library. All the best.
Very interesting video Leo! Thank you.
You are welcome :)
Awesome! I wonder if transforms can be part of Global Styles.
Excellent video Thanks!
I belive that this kind of materials is what sells the product in the first place. Not even what can I do, but how can I do it...
Amazing i love it
The images also have a hover effect in the Gp premium site how to create that with Generateblocks
It's awesome! where and when I can get the GenerateBlocks pro? and there will be a lifetime price?
These videos are absolute gold, Leo.
Thanks! Glad you like them :)
