A canzuna ru scieccu (The donkey's lament)
Переглядів 65Рік тому
When I was a small child, around 1960, I would occasionally ride my grandfather's donkey ("scieccu" in Sicilian). When the donkey died, in the early 60s, my grandfather asked a brother-in-law to write a song to mark the event. The song is both a celebration of the donkey's "singing" abilities and an opportunity to poke gentle fun at various neighbors and family members. With the help of my aunt...

Sto mi e milo (dance)

This is a choreography to the Macedonian folk song "Što mi e milo" as perfomed by Kitka. Often a simple Lesnoto step is done to this music. Here I have tried to render the richer texture of Kitka's beatiful arrangement.

This simple choreography tries to capture the light-hearted character of the this humorous Serbian song from the Vlasin area. The title translates as "I have a husband like a snail..."
Or, nevesto Stojanice (dance)

This is a choreography to the Macedonian song "Or, nevesto Stojanice" in the interpretation of Vaska Ilieva and Aleksandar Sarievski. One extra measure of music at the end of Vaska's first entry was removed, to maintain a consistent 13 measure pattern for all entries of the duet.
When this video came up on my youtube, I thought, "That fellow looks vaguely familiar"--I couldn't see your face clearly!! Didn't know you had a youtube site, Maurizio!
which version of the song is this? I love it! It's the best one I've heard but I can't find it in the net. Can anyone help please?
Hello Maria, this was danced to a live performance of the song with the musicians being able to "respond" to the dancers. I don't believe there is an equivalent studio recording, although people in earlier comments mention Bendeniz with Group Edessa.
@@MaurizioMondello I see, thanks for your reply
