Sorry for another throwback; the camera decided to die and we didn't have time to finish a whole video. We will have new content next week about what we do for fun. Thanks for watching as always!

Beginning to wrap things up outside for the year. Potatoes were a bust because I (a) didn't chit them properly and (b) the ones that did come up got overtaken by the weeds. For sweet potatoes (and the carrots and radishes) you'll have to wait for the next episode :) We are a couple living in northern Japan producing 4K videos and trying to grow and preserve our own food. Planting zha cai, yellow onions, and radishes on my rural Japanese homestead
Переглядів 10Місяць тому
Sorry for the delay in upload I just totally lost track of time. In this episode, I get some stackable planters for my birthday and throw some radish seeds in and chives on top of one. We also plant some zha cai since my wife loves the pickled roots. We are a couple living in northern Japan producing 4K videos and trying to grow and preserve our own food. Rural Japan Autumn Fireworks - Farm Field Trips
Переглядів 1902 місяці тому
Sorry there was no video last week; I was trying to deliver more timely content and was not far enough ahead to handle some other things in life getting in the way. This is an autumn fireworks festival for a few small villages near where we live. Sorry for the abrupt start of filming, but there was no notification at all; no one knew it was starting and you can tell a few times people thought i...

Field Trip! I had to run errands in a bigger city so off the farm by motorbike on a lovely day.

You may want to just mute and put music over this, but I left the audio in case anyone wants to hear some portion of it. I needed to run errands in a bigger city. I cut out an unspecified amount of time and distance on both ends of the journey for privacy reasons. Regular video will return next week, but I wasn't feeling well enough today to edit it all. Please support us on Patreon if you have the means! patreon.com/HomesteadJapan This week, I had to spend a couple of hours running around to figure out what each breaker does. The reason was that I wanted to have my battery-powered doorbell switched to wired (it supports both). But there w...

Are the small ones spicy peppers and the big ones behind the basket sweet peppers ? Sorry I don't know much about spicy peppers/chilli's but thinking of growing some as we've recently become addicted to Tabasco sauce. Mrs Nouka did dry some one year by threading them on a string and hanging them under the eaves of our house during winter for a week or two. You're a braver man than me doing it without gloves 🤣😂

The ones in the basket are habaneros. The rest of them, the longer types of peppers, are a combination of jalapenos and seranos. We did grow some sweet peppers pi-man and bell peppers, though those mostly got used as soon as we picked them except at the end of the year when I froze a bunch. I definitely sometimes pay for not doing it with gloves. Some of them will leave my hands tingling for hours after. I would recommend everyone where gloves and definitely be careful around the eyes and other sensitive parts, hah.

I just found your channel thanks to the UA-cam algorithm :) I have been following Benton Homestead for a while and they are growing peppers... Possible networking opportunity?
