DIY Portable Bluetooth Boombox Build Sound Test
Here is another home-built boombox I made with Bluetooth using Skar Audio TX525 | 5.25" 160-watt elite coaxial speakers. It is not completely finished, I will make another video of the speaker coving the components used. In the meantime, enjoy this sound test at max volume.
and as always...
***NOTE: I was able to get a good recording, I recommend using headphones or other high-quality speakers with your EQs set to flat***

Dayton Audio ND140-PR 5-1/4" Aluminum Cone Passive Radiator Sound Test After Tune
Переглядів 3,2 тис.3 роки тому
I accidentally destroyed the subwoofer box of an old 2.1channel speaker system I used in my garage, so I decided to just make a custom all-in-one setup with the three speakers in an internally divided enclosure. All three speakers are 4" from some old unknown brand but were still in good shape. Reused speakers and the original amplifier board but decided to go with a Dayton Audio ND140-PR 5-1/4...
DIY Portable Boombox Bluetooth Speaker Build - First Sound Test at 20Hz Max Volume
Переглядів 2003 роки тому
Testing out the custom Bluetooth speaker I recently completed using parts from Amazon as well as parts-express.com sound at 20Hz, specifically listening for any mechanical noise from 6.5" component woofers or any air leaks in the box. Everything sounded great, additional speaker tests coming soon. CAUTION this recording will play 20Hz through your speakers, I suggest you play on speakers meant ...

i cracked my audio pro addon t3 bt speaker when i was drunk, so i thought that i will build box with one 5 1/4" nd140-4 and two 5 1/4" nd140-pr, just use the audio pros amp that has left and right channel with the tweetters (which im going to change to dayton audio ND25TA-4) and mid is mono. cant wait when i get to order some stuff and get to building :D i might upload yt short from the speaker when i get it ready but i think i will not get it fully done till end of next month or so

I’ve seen a video of some Brit kids getting one of these little trampolines kicking pretty good in a car. He had it in a massive enclosure though

Nice job, looks like you cut the wood mostly by hand instead of using expensive tools still smooth result And iam wondering what colour paint the front wil get or is it just gonna be clear coat of lacquer? Btw the volume of your recording is a little low, i think the volume was to high and your cameras microphone software compressed the audio to a lower volume

I used mostly a jig saw and hand sanding. I only stained the darker part but still am not sure what I want to do with the face of it to be honest.lol I have to still sand the face of it and clear the darker parts. I am going to make another "walk around" video and talk about the parts I used once it is all finished.

Looks like old 2.1 computer speaker with 150hz crossover on the satelite speakers , the midrange/tweeter/fullrangers look like they are from a 2.0 computer speakerset from the 90s (i had many of those as a kid since iam from 88 and opend each one of them, so they are probly around 5watt/10watts and 6 or 8ohms the amp you are using is probly 7watt/10watts on the satelites and like 15watt for the sub-woofer Still sounds very good for such cheap speakers and amplifier full bass but still small box, thats why i love passive radiators

Thanks for checking out the channel! These speakers were from an old 2.1 channel speaker system I bought around 2013. The brand was AVOL series AS350 the satellites were 11.5W and the subwoofer was 12.5W. All three speakers were from this same system 4" each and I added the 5.25" passive radiator and was able to tune it much lower than it was originally. I have recently started using passive radiators and have really enjoyed them. I have another build video coming later this week check back for it!

Nice build, looks like the same radiators i bought at aliexpress. sounds like good air pressure to me and very low tuning thats impressive for such cheap car audio high QTS speakers i bet you get much better results with these high qts car speakers and passive radiators than with a port

Hifonics is a decent brand, but i had a couple of 6.5inch vulcan series from them that had coil rub, but the one that didnt had coil rub sounded good although a bit bright on the tweeter good strong bass tho compared to Focal Auditor 6.5 inch they lose i had both and the Focal Auditor sound alot better (still the midrange is a bit weak almost same V shape crossover as the Hifonics tweeter and woofer sound

Hi i also orderd this woofer, iam gonna combine it with a passive radiator in an old 4inch subwoofer box i have, the box is ported right now so iam also gonna test it ported first Iam wondering what you think about the 4inch woofer, is the mid range anygood? imean midrange not midbass :P gonna combine it with a tweeter from the graphs i read that this thing needs a 2way 1k crossover for tweeter iam just wondering if this woofer sounds better with a midrange crossover at 700hz from what i have hear and see in youtube videos i come to conclusion that this woofer sounds a bit muddy with the midrange but has strong bass and midbass anyway goodday

Hello! Thanks for watching! The setup in this video was using the low pass side of a two-way crossover that came with a set of Cerwin Vega component speaker. I was not able to obtain the exact crossover frequency from Cerwin Vega(I even sent them an email asking). I found that this speaker does very well with mids and lows in a two way setup for something like bookshelf speakers or desktop speakers. At first I was skeptical but after a couple of hours of break-in this thing really did surprise me at how effortlessly it would reach its xmax and still sound clear. I have another build sound test coming later this week, so check back when you can! Thanks again!

Thanks! I did too. those hifonics really surprised me given their price. I used the DAMGOO bluetooth amplifier. It is awesome. the model is ZK-1002T it has 100W per channel. I have two small 12v batteries wired in series to make it 24v. they are what would be typically used for a kids power wheels replacement batteries. I built a few garage boomboxes with old car head units i had around but this was way easier, they are smaller than the palm of your hand and sound really good.

@@emiliog1985 Awesome! Thanks! I’m gonna have to try them out. Its cool to see another person using Hifonics speakers. I wanted to try something different so I went with those. Also, clever idea using those radiators on the side. I think those are getting more popular now days. Thanks for replying.

Would you recommend the PR for a bookshelf speaker, sitting on your desk?

I have noticed that having the back toward a wall does help fill my work space with clearer and deeper bass even in my garage, compared to when I move it to my patio table in the open. It does sound great though. Actually reduced distortion from the 4" sub. I would 100% pick the PR over sealed and ported. I don't like having ported speakers only because of moisture intrusion, I have had bad luck with that in the past. Just make sure the PR is larger by at least one size. In this instance I used a 5.25 inch PR with a 4 inch subwoofer and had great results.
