Slag also should be taken out of the BF. Usually tap hole is used to take out the slag and molten pig iron respectively. if salamander hole is used as pig tapping hole , slag should be tapped upper level of BF.
Place should close down it does nothing for the town apart from polute and shit everywhere over people cars windows and over the natural mountains of the town

So he said this tap is at the very bottom of the furnace, and the normal routine tapping is done a floor above. I wonder why they don't tap at the bottom level during production as well? Why leave so much molten iron in the furnace during normal operation?
pretty much gives more stable operation. also preserver way better temperature for prolonged (48/72hr) outages. plus the normal operation produces graphite wich can settle at the bottom of the furnace. graphite is a pain in the a to deal with on the cast floor
the liquid also protects the carbon blocks that make up the hearth bottom and walls from the extreme corrosion that the flow of bf gas can cause.
Slag also should be taken out of the BF. Usually tap hole is used to take out the slag and molten pig iron respectively. if salamander hole is used as pig tapping hole , slag should be tapped upper level of BF.
@@TheSeralp They probably did. Possibly a role reversal in that the normal iron tap hole was used for outstanding slag. Or, the slag was removed in the conventional way through the slag tap hole of the last furnace batch, leaving only whats to come out of the salamander to be removed.
