The spillway is designed to keep the water level in the lake under control to prevent flooding.

That's not a waterfall. It's an overflow spillway. It likely drains to a nearby waterway. An hour's research would probably answer your questions as to the why and where. Check with the town or county department of public works.

Magic was such an amazing station in its prime, especially the mid 90s. Now it sounds just like every other copycat top 40.

its mindblowing to me, how a cook, cant constantly entertain a stupid crowd like that, with such silly jokes, cooking skills a+ crowd stuid factor unmeasurable... for me this childisch behaviour of the crowd is so american simple people.

Ugh I miss this magic 106.7...it started going downhill sometime in 2013

I'd missed the news, somehow, despite being one of the few people I know who still listens to terrestrial radio with some regularity these days. Realized tonight when I popped my boom box on for the first time in a while that it wasn't his voice and headed for Google...thanks for recording this. Been listening on and off since I was a child, and fell asleep to his show many a night. Gonna miss him.

Magic should just start replaying all his old shows in chronological order. No need for a replacement

My parents always had Magic 106.7 locked onto their car radio, so I always heard this man putting me to sleep whenever we went out for the night. Thank you for all the memories, and so long local legend.

There will never be another David Allan Boucher. I hope he enjoys his retirement. He deserves it.

Seriously, thank you for filming this and even moreso uploading it. I only found out he retired after his final show. So glad that I get to hear his final sign off with Summer Madness by Kool and the Gang playing. We'll *NEVER* hear that song on Magic again too. Happy retirement David. Thank you.

I was about 6 when my father first introduced me to Bedtime Magic and for the next decade, I would be privileged to fall asleep every night to David Allen Boucher. He's been an idol for me and the sole reason I want to go into the radio business with a goal to be the next host of Bedtime Magic. It was upsetting to hear his retiring and upsetting to be asleep once the final "good night my love, sweet dreams" was said, but I am grateful for him to be the nighttime voice of Boston for forty years!

Now that His Show Ended, Delilah is on Sunday Through Friday at 7PM to Midnight on Magic 106.7

I was on the Joy that week. Show is good as always but the food in Teppanyaki has gone downhill though.

It took me years, but I finally discovered that the trippy sounding instrumental music that plays during David Allan Boucher’s sign-off is called “Summer Madness” by Kool and the Gang. This music had been used as the sign-off theme for David Allan Boucher since May 2013, when Magic 106.7 dropped the “soft rock” genre after 30 years. Which in my opinion is the exact point in time when the station started to go downhill :(

He is being replaced by the syndicated Delilah show. Boston is one of the few (maybe the only?) large cities where the Delilah show hasn't been broadcast. Ironically Delilah developed her love songs show at the old WVBF in Boston before moving to Rochester, New York, then to Seattle, and for nearly 25 years, national syndication. I only wish WMJX could have found a locally-produced replacement.
