    You need to add a little more water than the volume of coffee you want. It's called "for the pot". It prevents overheating the glass. See manufacturer's recommendation for the amount.

    A commemorative gold watch given to the captain of the rescue ship Carpathia was recently sold at auction for nearly $2 million, a record for a Titanic related object. Seems a lot for something that was never on the ship! What would watches belonging to passengers and crew go for?

      @Nostalgicleigh 16 годин тому

      Wow thats a LOT of money! According to Artnet News.com "The gold watch worn by the Titanic's richest passenger, John Jacob Astor, has set an auction record as the most expensive item of Titanic memorabilia. A private collector in the U.S. paid $1.5 million for the 14-carat gold Waltham pocket watch engraved with the initials J.J.A."

      She was born in the 1920s, wonem weren't legally allowed to open a bank account in America until the 1960s. The husbands controlled the money, women were expected to be home makers and didn't have the choices that we have now. By our standards she lived as a woman but that wasn't her experience in her adulthood

    I wish women would realize that while this is equally valid and meaningful, it is for a specific personality type,a cery strong one and this is what feminism is attenpting to make womanhood. Womanhood should be about veing who you are uniquely within a feminine framed existence, NOT becoming a man in all ways except biologically. It doesn't esrn uou greater respect, but for most it gains you more misery and ends in being unfulfilled. Katherine Hepburn was a vesutiful u ique soul, not an archetype.

      Women are not a monolith. She has a clear idea about what made men men and women women based on her time. Women being able to make enough money to support themselves and subsequently choose to live on their own terms is a basic human right. It isn’t about striving to be a man- she frames it like that because basic rights for all women during a large portion of her life did not include the things she had the opportunity to build for herself. You’re right- feminism isn’t about being a man. It is about being a person that can make their own choices. Her mother would have been raised during a period where coverture still dictated women’s lives. Knowing context and history really goes a long way in understanding the present. Please don’t take for granted what the women before us have done for us

    The women (and men) of the 20th century did all the work, even the rather backward USA it was all done before the 21st century. The current generation pretending to be in the same struggle or claiming their successes as theirs is not a testament to the strength of women, on the contrary. Children growing up without one the parents is not a success, abortions are also a failure to use the wide availabilty of birth control. I'm all in favour of equal rights but the practicality of it is the product of human innovation and technological progress. Before the 20th century running a household was a serious full time job for most women, while the men had a far harder job to do. Mining, harpooning whales in the freezing cold, not jobs women really wanted to do but weren't allowed to. But I'm sure those women would have done better than the spoiled whiners with their emotional and mental problems of Gen Z. At least in the late 20th century a family could still be raised on one income, and the wife working was a luxury of extra income. Women's liberation has resulted in the woman's part of the family income mostly ending up in the pockets of a very few rich men. So of course the corporatocracy is behind this divide and rule propaganda. Men and women should not let themselves be divided and fight them together, as equals.
