Why would you risk having the crew on deck in rough conditions, no logic? What's the point of having a self-righting boat where the crew is supposed to be safe and secure in the cabin ?
@@MisterLongShot_Official Your absolutely right, but you cant rescue anyone if your crew has been washed overboard before you even get to the casualty. That's the whole point of having a self-righting boat so you can protect the crew and the patients once rescued.
@@Elfin4 they're belted in with safety lines, and they're highly trained and dedicated professionals. There's only a few hundred people in the world qualified to do this job.

I believe in an interview with a crewman I watched, he said the inside pilot location is very rarely used.
