Amazing devotional read for today. So thankful the Gospel is not only for the Jews but to all who call upon the Name of the Lord ... that's us :)

I loved today's reading and what's recorded in Acts 8:39 -- "When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing." The other is the account of Saul's powerful conversion. Can you imagine the chaos with the Jewish leaders when one of their own, Saul, is now teaching boldly and fearlessly of this Jesus, The Christ? Thanks for today's inspiring reading of Steven. Such a powerful account he gave to the leaders that brought, as in times past, reactions of anger and rejection against the works of God and His Holy Spirit. They once again missed their day of visitation, however, we know this began to prepare Saul for a mighty conversion experience on the road to Damascus.

It’s so wonderful how the people shared the message of Jesus just after becoming new believers themselves. God’s Church is being built on a very strong foundation. Thank you Mel for sharing His Word with us. Love and Blessings 🩷🙏

Another great reading from the Word for today. Love how, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, the Early Church multiplied daily through the preaching of Jesus with confirmation through signs and wonders being performed. The religious leaders of the day were blinded to the Truth through their jealousy, etc. while the common people responded with joy and praises to God.

I love how the Lord made them understand who Jesus was, what they did to him, and how they could be forgiven! What a great God we have! Thank you Mel. I love how Indy checks on you and then keeps walking, doing his little cat things. 😻 Love and Blessings 🩷🙏

An amazing reading today. It seems to get more and more exciting each day.

Love today's reading of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the Church. Peeking ahead a little, can you imagine the chaos in the Jewish leaders' Camp. They thought they put an end to Jesus and His teaching, but instead, there is an explosion of new converts to The Way, empowered by His Spirit. Hey God!!!

A very powerful read. How blessed we are to have these events recorded and preserved about what Jesus, The Christ, has done for us, i.e., His Life, Death, and Resurrection!

When you were reading about the women being near Jesus my thoughts went to women being present at birth and in death. I think in some American Indian tribes women sang songs at your birth and at your death. This is so moving to me. Thank you Mel. Love and Blessings 🩷🙏

What a powerful read for today, Mel. This verse was particularly highlighted to me, "Now as for the centurion and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the other things that were happening, they became extremely frightened and said, 'Truly this was the Son of God!'" Matthew 27:54

Any movie that has the crucifixion of Christ in it makes me cry. Even though I know the outcome was good I still can’t help myself! Glad you had a blessed time at your daughter’s. Thanks for sharing your testimony. The movie, The Passion of the Christ, took me some time to recover from to see what my Savior endured to satisfy God's Holiness and Justice in order to redeem me and the whole world. -- In your reading today, Mel, this portion of Scripture always leaps off the page of the account where some Jews, out of envy and jealousy, falsify accusations to frame Jesus and condemn Him to the most torturous death imaginable at the hands of the Romans to keep their places of authority, etc. Such hypocrisy of wanting to be self-righteous that it is recorded, "... and to avoid ceremonial uncleanness, the Jews did not enter the palace; they wanted to be able to eat the Passover." It's very sobering to contemplate on Judgment Day to have the charge of 'guilty' for deliberately sending to death, The Christ. Eternity is a long time to seal one's fate for rejecting the very Son of God :(

A powerful read for today. Jesus freely gave His life, no one can take it as this verse shows He is in command of the situation. -- "Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied. “I am he,” Jesus said. (And Judas the traitor was standing there with them.) When Jesus said, “I am he,” they drew back and fell to the ground. John 18:5-6

God gave us His word so people could get to know Him and believe in His Son. I think when anyone gives their heart to Jesus they are no longer totally of this world. A part of them resides in Heaven with Jesus. Thank you Mel. Love and Blessings 🩷🙏

Wonderful reading for today's devotional. I'm so thankful we have a recorded account of Jesus' last hours with His disciples. Even though He knows the cup of suffering He is about to endure, He continues to minister to and love them.

The commentary does a good job of laying out the last days of Jesus' life. Tradition doesn't align with some events recorded in Scripture. Events all fall into their proper place when we see the parallel of Jesus as 'The Passover Lamb' fulfilling what occurred during the great Exodus with the Israelites. What an Awesome God we serve!

People still try to predict the second coming of our Lord even though the Bible tells us we will not know when it is. I know I’m not worried and will welcome it! To think of the love that radiates from the Face of Jesus just melts my heart. Love and Blessings my dear friend. 🩷🙏

Amen. For those who place their trust in Jesus, we get to spend our time now with His abiding Spirit ... and later for all eternity with God and all His saints. Thank you, Jesus!

Amazing read for today's devotional, Mel. Jesus sure didn't hold back any punches against the religious leaders for their hypocrisy. I enjoyed the testimonies you shared. The verse of the day, Psalms 25:4-5 is particularly special to my wife and me. When the Lord called us to leave our home in Maine of 38 years to move to Tulsa, Oklahoma to both attend Bible school, we stood on this Scripture as He guided us to make such a move and navigate through all the details it entailed. There's no greater joy than discovering the path and destiny the Lord has for each one of us. -- "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Amen. So many prophetic words coming to their moment as Jesus approaches the end of His Ministry. So sad that many would not acknowledge Him even with the many miracles confirming all He said about the Kingdom of God. -- "... because you did not know the time of your visitation.” Luke 19:44

Amen. I appreciate you sharing part of your testimony as well. -- 2 Corinthians 3:18, "And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit."

Such a powerful account of the raising of Lazarus. Despite this miraculous sign, the Chief Priests, the Pharisees, and the Sanhedrin Council refused to acknowledge the obvious, that the Christ was among them and instead plot to kill Jesus. So sad ... they missed the day of their visitation. But even today, all who call upon the Lord shall be saved.

Jesus is the good shepherd! Someday I will count how many times Jesus says “ I tell you the truth! “ People can be so stubborn! They could believe in Moses and Abraham but not in Jesus. Thank you Mel! Love and Blessings 🩷🙏

So many great truths were shared in the discourse of the people with Jesus in today's reading. One that I liked in particular for this morning was, "I tell you the truth, Jesus answered, before Abraham was born, I AM."

Blessings on your day, Mel. I never tire of hearing the account of the woman brought to Jesus by the teachers of the Law and Pharisees to try and trap him in His words. Here we see Jesus pausing until He hears from His Father how to respond ... and then replies with such wisdom that, what could have turned this situation into tragedy and loss, resulted instead with a rebuke to their own sin and hypocrisy, and deliverance and restoration to this precious woman.

Yes, loving God and loving one another are most important! When we learn to do that we truly do want to live a righteous life. Thank you Mel! God loves you and so do I! Love and Blessings🩷🙏

Great devotional scripture reading for today. Thanks for sharing with us, Mel. I'm reminded of the passage in Luke 7:47, "Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven-for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.”

I was just thinking about how Jesus told the people He healed not to talk with others about it. The people who didn’t listen and told everyone about it are the ones mentioned in the Bible. Think about how many other people He must have healed who listened and didn’t tell anyone! My guess is that the number of the ones no one heard about is much greater. What a wonderful Savior we have! Another great read, Mel, with lots of miracles showing the great love of Messiah to the people. The verse from Matthew 15:27-28 has always been particularly one of my favorites. -- “Yes, Lord,” she said, “ even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” “O woman,” Jesus answered, “your faith is great! Let it be done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.…"

Looks like you’re going to get some rain. Your weather is the same as it is here in Michigan. I hope heaven is like my dream of it. I saw myself walking in a park and everywhere I turned I saw some more wonderful and beautiful it made me cry. The colors were so vivid and the flowers so large. The hand carved benches were so ornate and wonderful. I started hearing some voices singing and instruments playing but it was all jumbled together. I asked a passerby what that noice was and she said isn’t it wonderful? It’s the heavenly choir. I said I couldn’t hear music just jumbled sound. She told me it’s because it wasn’t my time to be there and I had to go back. I woke up crying because I had wanted to stay. Thank you Mel! Love and Blessings 🩷🙏

Thanks for sharing today's devotional commentary and Scripture readings on the life and ministry of Jesus. I was reminded of the Scripture in Luke 24:27 which says, "And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them what was written in all the Scriptures about Himself."

Another great read. I found it of interest what the commentary stated, "Interestingly, Jesus does not appear to place particular emphasis on organization, methods of evangelization, or academic religious training. The twelve Apostles are mostly of simple education but the power of Christ is with them." -- I think too often the enemy tries and to some extent succeeds in keeping us from sharing our faith because we do not believe we are qualified or have formal training when the truth is what we need is the power of the Holy Spirit.
