I hacked this one out last night while arranging music for a middle school drumline. The Problem The tempo needs to drop from 120 BPM to 85 BPM after nine measures. The App will do that, BUT... it will want to push the tempo down another 35 BPM to 50, which is painfully slow. The Hack? Set the "Minimum BPM" setting to 85 BPM. From here, the Nome will remain at 85 until I change the Nome setting...

Great FEATURE of the MBA... This is a great feature to use at band rehearsals when the tempo of a song is in question. Simply tap on the drum icon and MBA will start keeping the tempo once it latches onto your consistent tempo. Upfront... my execution of the ideas with the bass is not very good today. That tells me I need to spend more time on the Nome in Seven. The ability to subdivide odd time signatures is a nice luxury you get with this app. There is no reason a musician cannot get comfortable playing in odd times... except that we do not spend time playing and training in odd time signatures. This one is short because there is not a lot to this feature. Consistently tap on the drum icon and the Nome will show you the tempo of your taps. It is that simple! Pick any tempo and see how long it takes to lock onto the tempo. As you can see... I need to play that game a lot more. That is it... More coming... Get out there and play your butt off! I have been using that part of the Beats to put together drum tracks for some music ideas I am toying around with. I am very impressed with this feature!!!
Very nice tutorial, thank you! I have been having trouble with keeping track of my strumming over multiple repeats chords.....tapping the dots to emphasise beats really helps. 'Preferences' has some very useful settings too, such as setting the audio tones and preset sounds.

Hey! This is an old video, so you might not see this comment anymore, but i payed the full version of the app to have a better drum backing track to play along, but it doesn't let me extract in mp3, do you have any solutions? Thank you!
Unfortunately, I do not. I tried the paid version a few years ago and was not impressed. I returned to the free version when I upgraded my phone. I certainly did not want to pay additional money for an app that offered so little when compared to its free version

@@basstriads4448 Looking for a specific example 'mission impossible theme' where there is 5/4 time signature. Here the first two notes are dotted notes and the remaining two are quarter notes. So how can a metronome help in a single measure with a combination of dotted & non-dotted notes. See, if such a topic can be included. Thanks for a positive response.

This was a helpful tutorial, but the "tap tempo" button doesn't work. I've deleted and reinstalled app and the same thing. For example, it may go to 23 and 6 and then 45 and then 75 say, but never really locks on to the tempo. Thoughts?
I agree that the tap tempo function can be a bit iffy at times. I've noticed that I need to focus on tapping right on top of the "tap tempo" icon. Once my tempo is consistent enough, the Nome actually starts clicking out the tempo for me. It can be frustrating for sure. Thank you very much for bringing this issue up. I appreciate it!
