This breaks my heart. These people have made a toxic piece of land their home because it's the only place they can go where the darn police won't harass them. This is absolutely disgusting, even more so than what the recycling plant did, if you ask me. And the one lady saying the biggest concern ISN'T the human beings actively being forced to live in this toxic dump. The human beings being exposed to high levels of toxins on a daily basis CURRENTLY is NOT the biggest concern? What? Because they are homeless, they don't count. Kira, ma'am. You can probably afford to buy yourself some bottled water or move somewhere else if you're so worried about the water. Like yes, the water is concerning. Yes, contaminated ground water can kill people. Yes, you should fight to do something about that. But to say that it's more important than finding a safe place for human beings where they can at LEAST be at the same risk level as everyone else in the area is less important is just.... I don't know how the camera man resisted slapping her. Excellent impulse control, I'm sure. Seriously, they'll be affected by contaminated water too, on top of living on top of the contaminated land, and they really don't have to be. And no, throwing them out isn't a solution. It's a bandaid. Give them a place to go that isn't toxic. Sorry for the rant, but that woman makes me sick to my stomach.... more than Halaco does.

Old superfund documentaries like love canal and stories like atlas tack are all so interesting and educational but the new ones like this one are just a bunch of whiney complaining sissies. Every single person in this video looks like they never had a real job. Easy to see why this channel only has 200 subscribers with tripe like this.

Same thing is happening today at Quemetco (rebranded recently as EcoBat), a lead acid battery smelter in Avocado Heights, LA. They are one of the largest EPA violators left operating in SoCal. The Exide plant near the LA River was shut down and the effects on soil in backyards years later is not yet fully understood, so Quemetco/EcoBat could be just as bad

There is a silver lining here. This polluting company ended up moving into a red state, into a county so red it voted for trump by a margin of 78.1% to 21.1%. So at least the toxic hazards won't have any negative effect on the cognitive functions of the people living there. They're already dumber than toxic dirt. It's good to see people getting the results of what they vote for. But we all know that eventually, it'll be blue state tax dollars that are used to clean up the mess that will be left in Tennessee, same as it's blue state tax money being used to clean up the mess in California.

Same. A lot I've dealt with don't want housing when offered, nor care to get off drugs. The bleeding heart people who think "we should help them all" have not worked with the homeless population before. "All" don't want your help. But yeah, these two guys, you could tell if they just had the right chance, they might totally turn their situations around. Wish I could help them. It's heart breaking.
