Gotta love that gospel goodness. Here's my quick break down of an awesome gospel tune, Mitch's Moves by the late Parris Bowens. Not only is it a beautiful tune, it's also a great practice tool for playing in different keys since the song is essentially a melody and chord progression that gets transposed 4 times. Oh, and there's also a really cool, gospel dominant 7th chord voicing that is recur...

Learn some ways to voice a minor 11th chord and some ideas on how to apply it in a tune.
That voicing at 10:26 is so lovely. It jumped out at me as Keith Jarrett uses the exact chord in bar 2 of his version of Londonderry Air (Danny Boy). I've been calling it the "Jarrett voicing" all this time haha
Me love it . Watching you from Germany
Buenisimo
Looking forward to more!!!
One of the best jazz theory channels I’ve come across. Keep up the good work brother

Thanks so much for using our software 👍🏽
Thank you for creating it!!
Underrated info. ¡Thanks!
I would add a D (the 4th) in the last A7 chord 😊
The rub of the fourth and major third on a dominant 7 chord just sounds so bittersweet to me. It sounds so good but it’s so slept on
great and clear. subscribed
This was amazing
Awesome stuff!
It’d be great if you had a course going through how to play from beginner to advanced. You a great teacher, I’d acc pay for this!

Nice! What software do you use to project piano keys? I gotta get myself one of those programs.
Hey there! I use an app called midiculous
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for the past few days
Awesome that you landed here!
Killer, Charlie. You make it look easy! Great presentation style and pace. Thank you! - Benjamin
I really appreciate that!
Beautiful walk-through, Charlie. Really appreciate it. That progression reminds me of "Hymn to Freedom" by Oscar Peterson. Cheers, Benjamin
Love your tutorial. In the beginning, it reminds me of Hymn to Freedom by Oscar Peterson until it changed key!
Anybody else here from TikTok ??
Yeah me
What's up?
insaneeeeeee
😁👊
Such a great video man. I can’t wait to sit down and start drilling this. Thank you!
Have fun with it!
Great tutorials! These are beautiful voicings. I knew the Kenny Barren voicing but never knew Herbie had a min11 voicing. Perfect song choice for this. I like the variations that are not the melody note
Yep - gotta know the min11 with different melody notes!
thank you for your insightful sharing of this knowledge. It's very helpful indeed! :)
Glad to hear!
Beautiful brotha. Subscribed in your first video.
