3 Pkg and Queen install with follow up
Set this hive up on May 7, 2021. On August 2, 2021 I harvested a Hogg Half Comb Super from this hive. In 9 weeks time the bees built their hive and completely built and filled a super. There is a video of my harvesting the Hogg Half Comb Super dated August 2.

Just finished the assembly and a few crow hops. Some fine tuning still remains to be done but for all practical purposes it is finished.
Sport 2S Practice Take Offs and Landings - Rick Sukey

Did a few take offs and landings to get the feel of the plane. This was the 5th one since completing the assembly.
When you transfer germs from your pants to your hands to you product is kinda gross. But maybe you freeze them and kill germs, and the hive beetles u mentioned. Food jandling is very precise.
If you noticed in the video, I never touched the product, just the case exterior.
Are you selling the honeycomb?
How much do you sell each for ?
👍👍👍🖐 sub
How can buy this kind of box?
I got them from Better Bee. www.betterbee.com
Is it air tight after the lid is put on? Also, why do you have to put it in the freezer?
The lid fits on the package just like it does on a regular medium. The bees will seal it up if they need to. It's good to put it in the freezer for 24 hours just to kill any parasites that might be in the package. It's just a pre-caution.

I am going to try to find any follow ups to this good video but it seems to me very labour intensive and if there were a lot of uncapped squares they could be placed back in with the next batch. Again a bit more fluffing about.
it really isn't that labor intensive. No harvesting of frames, no un-capping frames, filtering, or cleaning up buckets, filters, spinner etc... Take out the cassettes, put a lid and a label on it and your done. Couldn't be easier. I order my refills as a complete batch. couldn't put incomplete cassettes in. Having a few open cells in a cassette doesn't really hurt anything as long as it's not a bunch of them. Just have to be more observant and patient the next time.
Upon reflection and reading your reply I have changed my opinion on these. Thanks so much.
I'm about to put mine on next week !!
Awesome 👍👍 just make sure your hive is super strong Good luck 🤞
Well I did get a bit cross with you coughing over the honey, I ha e not checked when the video was made I am watching it during covid so haha yeah guess I do have reason for my anger or annoyance, anyhoo Just a heads up I ha e not attempt any Ross rounds or Hogg half so far only bottle system. Umm you mentioned that the Ross rounds does not, 'presentate' haha according to uncle Google talk, it's not a real world I could not figure out the spelling for it so correct word is presentation haha my bad anyhoo, umm yes you said presentation on a Ross round is not the best however you still need your labels as you said earlier in the video so my question is which label you going to go with one for the finished product? Back label Side label Front label Either way if you want the best presentation it would ha e to be a label for the back wear the foundation wax is if I remember correctly you had to put in or does it already come with that in can't recall or you did not mention it, also a heads up beat to check what your side of the world says regarding labels and or packaging. The Ross rounds from one of the videos I saw on youtu.be the guy used a label that covers that plastic round pipe object. The presentation depends on the labels you going to go with could very much cover what you dissing about the Ross rounds system, so let's wait for your labels first? Did you do an installation first video on receiving the items and how to install onto super then to hive, I shall check after watching this video you made, thanks shall continue watching now... Re-edit: I did check says video was made 7 months ago.. Ummm yeah in covid period maybe beat to wear one of those plastic shields just to be on safest. Oh you did mention the label now, okay yes that does sound cool with the whole hinge idea presentation is still there so that's cool... Umm so wild flower so it's shelf or maybe correct word is crystal shelf is less I'm in South Africa I learnt that different flower can also prolong the crystallization process, the guy I went to last year to rent his honey extractor his honey I traded 340ml for 340ml of mine kept both and within less than 6 months his has already crystallized where as mine is still liquid form it has umm let me go check quickly before I say anything.... Okay it's not yes a complete year yet last year harvesting and spinning was 25 March 2021 its now the 19 March 2022 so just a few more days till 1 full year. I have for experimental purposes last year put 1kg honey away to check how many well now years it takes to crystallize also I've found that different areas ha e different tastes the guy I went to his has a more lemon there was another tasted to it I could not make out it was also sweet type taste mine is very sweet compared to what my family use to buy at the shops before I got the bees, his was a bit lighter not as light as yours is mine is quite darker in colour compared to the guy I went to extract honey from frames... So yeah that's also pretty interesting. So from what I see online Ross rounds super system costs way more that the Hogg half super system
how come no more flying? Lets see more flying years between flights
Hi Grady. I can't tell you how much I miss flying it. Moved to Florida, trailered the Sport 2S down here and it hasn't been out of the trailer. Will be putting a new fuel tank on it and then sell the plane and trailer.
Too much plastic. It would be good if they were made from a recyclable or organic material. Nice video.
Hi, how much do people pay for one cassette full of combed honey?
I got $17.00 each.
That's a great idea, letting the bees fill in the containers.
Indeed. Just put the super on the hive, they do all the work, you take out the cassettes and put the lids on. totally awesome.
@@richardsukey7703 Here's a random question about beekeeping, can a hive be moved at night and the bees adapt to their new location in the morning and find their way home? For instance, if someone who was travelling around the country, and they had a hive attached to their camper, and travelled at night, would the bees still be able to function?
@@yowgyrl No. the bees need a couple of days to re-orientate themselves to the new hive location. There is always the chance that if you leave the location too early you would loose quite a few bees.
@@richardsukey7703 Thank you for answering this odd question. I appreciate your time.
you're evil... eating it front of us
I knw, but it was only the first two bites.....YUMMY !!!
on average how much did each cassette weigh?
The net weight was 12 oz.
Great video. Which airport in Houston is this?
Did you use a queen excluder?? Also did you only have 1 super on the hive?
Yes I did use a excluder and it was the only super on the hive so that the entire population would work the cassettes.
Thanks for the video. Did you put in the foundation? And how do the bees get in between the compartments?
The cassettes came with a light coat of bees wax in the bottom. The foundation is actually the bottom of the cassette with a comb pattern already on it. There is a gap between each cassette that the bees move thru the package.
Hi Richard ,where are you buy this plastic kit? God bless you.
I got them from Betterbee. www.betterbee.com. Hogg Halfcomb system
This is really cool, I wanna try this with my bees next year
Thank you Jacob. I was in awe when I saw just how fast the bees were able to fill it up. Good luck with yours. Only suggestion I have is to make sure you have a very strong hive to be successful with it.
Every since these first came out, I’ve always wanted one. Best I could do was hang gliding for awhile. Still alive so who knows? I like the two place so I could take camping gear or my heavy electric unicycle to make it to a motel after landing.
Thinking about buying one of these. I live in Livingston. Tx.....would love to come down and aw yours. If you would be for that, give me an email at pastor@flcworship.com and copy to cmbllc@yahoo.com Thanks
whats with the right rudder the whole flight? Rookie or what? and the key blowing around would be bad day for ya! prop!

And to heck with the Peanut Gallery on the key. That goes, last place it'll go is the prop.
Oh, BTW, I'm rated in the 737, UH-1, AH-1, AH-64 (3 flavors), C-182 (Army 90264 and 90265), C-12 Huron (Beech King Air 350), owner PA22/20-160 N2453P, and a Quicksillver. Nice Job on the Pattern! Oscar Bravo (OB)
Thank you.
@@richardsukey7703 do you still have your quicksilver?
Yes I do. Have a new fuel tank to put on it and the rocket for the BRS needs too be replaced. Want to sell it when finished. I transported it from Texas too Florida so I bought a custom trailer to do so. Had to remove the wings to transport but ordered all new bolts and hardware to put back together.
Hi Charlie, yes I do. I trailered it from Houston to Florida which is where I live now. It is inside a custom trailer that I bought just for that purpose. I have a new fuel tank to put on it because the fuel that was in the original went bad. Has not been stored with fuel in the engine. The wings are off of it and strapped to the inside walls of the trailer. The horizontal stab is also off. I bought all new fasteners to put it back together rather than use the old hardware, The rocket on the BRS needs to be replaced to remain certified. Other than that it is in perfect condition with only about 12 hours flying time.
beautiful little 🐦
Great video. Nearly done with my QS 2s.
Awesome Bert, I know you will enjoy it. There is another video where I do a walkaround showing the details of options I added.
Thanks. I have 3 hrs of instruction on my sport license and your videos help with my build and flying!
Very cool!!!
How to install rear brakes for 84 mx quicksilver
I have em on my mx, bought it that way though. They do sell the kit. Looks really simple.
Does this quick silver have flaps?
No it does not.
How fast do you cruise, and what is your top speed?
at 100% power it will cruise just at 60mph. 75% will get you along at about 55.
Too fast on Final....& touch down.
since stall speed is about 38 and I touched down at 40, I have to disagree with you. Look at the shadow of the nosewheel and you will see a very smooth landing and nose wheel down.
This is the best POV of a final and landing a Quicksilver. I even got that little fear I get in the last 15-20 seconds watching it. A good practice video- thanks.
Rick, I live in Liberty,Tx. just East of Houston I'd love to fly with you one day, my email is tpal0312@gmail.com
Tim Allison hi Tim. I would enjoy a flying partner. I had to move to Florida in late 2015 and have not flown since. My plane is still hangered in Houston and I hope to bring it down here soon unless I can sell it there.
LOL I asked where you were located in a previous video and now I see it's Houston. I visit Spring TX once in a while to visit with my Step daughters and grandchildren. Next time I come that way I'll let you know. i'd love to see you fly
I've enjoyed watching your flights. I'm at the very beginning stages of learning now. I have visited and EEA chapter meeting last weekend and happy I did. where are you located?
Joe Comet the plane is hangered in Houston Tx. I have moved to Florida and am considering selling the one in the video and building a new one down here.
Nice job 👍 I miss flying but will be doing it again soon. Had almost 400 hrs in my sprint when I had to sell my plane after a tough personal situation I went through. 😞
Hi. thanks for sharing. What's your logic behind the choice for a 4-blade prop? I'm on the learning curve...
Thanks for sharing. How do you find the Sport 2S in winds? Curious as i'm thinking of buying one myself. Happy to hear any info on performance and handling... Thanks
How many hours did it take you to build this Sport 2S?
It took about 160 hours over 1 year. I was overseas every other month

Awesome awesome plane my friend. Top 3, probably 1st, on my list of 2-seaters' I'd like to have. Years ago I had a COBRA, made by Advanced Aviation, single place. But I trained in a 2-place QUICKSILVER, and always wanted one. I still want one., more than ever now. I'm going to watch your takeoff and landings next. What is stall speed, w/just pilot? 28-35?
treylem3 thank you for the compliments, it is a great plane. You ate correct in the stall speed, about 38.
Stall speed with me and full fuel is about 40.
I suggest you separate your keys 🔑 before you loose them or you get a premature shut down
Sailer12121 already done, that same day
Hey can you please message me I have a question for you about your ultralight svisbeck409@gmail.com
that thing is awesome, what 50k ?
Brian Pfaff don't understand the " 50k" ???
He is asking the cost of it; $50,000....very high guess...
Total investments with all the upgrades and instruments was about 32K

Shes beautiful! Nice job! How common is a clutch on these? this is the first one I've seen with it.
AV8R Tom HI Tom, don't know how frequent they are used but I am glad I put one on my plane. Engine can be warming up while I do my pre flight
Sorry for the late reply. I do not know how common the clutch is but it makes it nice to be able to have the engine running during the pre-flight so that it warms up and you do not chance having a cold seizure when you take off.
