Eureka Ensemble
Eureka Ensemble nurtures social change through music. We identify an issue facing our community, partner with civic and social organizations, and then come together in chamber groups and as an orchestra to use music to address that issue.
Our current work focuses on empowering people experiencing homelessness, refugee and immigrant youth, and navigating the story around the local impacts from the changing climate together with musicians and environmental scientists. Although we are primarily a classical music organization, we perform across a wide range of genres and settings in order to increase our impact and that of our partner organizations.

One wonders had Beach been exposed more to musical currents beyond the conservative McDowell set, how far might she have expanded (this was written around the same time as Mahler's 2nd symphony and Nielsen's 1st Sym, and at the same time Ives is starting to burn conservative music to the ground). But then I think even if she been temperamentally drawn to more rule breaking, being a woman at the time had she trotted out something as pushy as a Nielsen, might not the establishment thrown their hands up and dismiss it as mere feminine excess.
Bravo!
beach
Bravo! I am constantly searching about music from my country since it's being forgotten, thanks for performing this beautiful work! I am currently looking for one of her works titled Saludo a Caracas, but I haven't found anything.
2:33 that solo tho
Really brilliant! So happy to hear this!
100% perfect!!

Pleasant enough to listen to, and worth performing, but very derivative and without a personal voice.
Why be so negative. You could have left it at "Pleasant enough to listen to, and worth performing."
@@danielmkubacki I think that I agree with @jgesselberty; good listening but it doesn't have the umph of some other symphonies. Not to be critical Ms. Beach, since I'm only a listener; some symphonies rise to the top more than others, but this is good work, no doubt about it.
Fantastic performance! I really enjoyed watching it.

Thank you so much for this video. Amy Beach had a wonderful gift for melody and harmony, fully brought out in this symphony, and beautifully played here. It's so rewarding to listen to, and watch, such talented musicians at work. Bravo!

Where can I find this version of Messiah? I would love to perform the Spanish translation in Texas, where I live.
This is an effective expression of environmental concerns and artistic energies in a creative, productive way. Keep on going!
Muy bueno!!!
Muchas gracias!
This music is so beautiful!
Rock On, Y'all
Rather Brahmsian, but so were practically all symphonic works of this time.
Certainly similarities in the late Romantic style! Would also recommend Farrenc's symphonies (especially #3), which live somewhere between Beach/Brahms and Beethoven in style.
This is amazing! Yes!! ♫♫
GREAT!!!!Ulf Korman from Sweden
Hey! Narrorator and singer here! Had so much fun! Beautiful!!
