the only thing i hate about the last ps2 slim 9000 series is it has a stupid glossy finish, it looks ugly and scratches will get on it over time, the early ps2 slims models did not have gloss, sony, or consoles in general need to stop with the ugly glossy shit, all electronic need to stop with the glossy finish and stick to ABS plasic matte
that version of the ps2 slim is the last of the 90000 series, it's very common in PAL regions, the PSU is inside the console, unlike the 7000 series there is no PSU inside the console, but you need a PSU brick in the older models.
Awesome pick up! I love the Eevee plushies, also that 3ds looks so cool.
I love your videos
Don’t click bait
They are more common than the FAT models
That persona 3ds was a huge find
Great video!!! An inspiration to me. Cool video idea.
Thanks!
2 days ago someone was clearing out their garage and basement. I asked if they had any games and they said yes we do. they wanted $750 for everything I seen complete in box chrono trigger, super mario rpg, super metroid, sunset riders and 20+ more cib snes games also a bunch of genesis, 32x, and sega cd games. I gave them $900 and they were happy with clearing everything out. I found gameboy play it loud black version and 20 gameboy games in the tote. I sat on price charting for a bit and the total value of the haul was $7,000+ and I got everything for $900 which is crazy.
Awesome man! Congratulations on the awesome lot!
I just started recollecting my entire collection that was destroyed/stolen. In my area there is literally nothing aside from the typical retro stores. Is there a place I can look online and find great deals? Again, this is not me trying to resell, I'm collecting specific games from my youth.
If you’re only looking to collect specific games and not buy lots and partially sell, it kind of limits your options as far as getting deals go. I will say, facebook marketplace still can have good deals locally for specific games, you just have to check it every day or so, eBay auctions sometimes can get you a decent deal as well. Gamestop started selling retro recently too but availability is store by store so I’m not too sure how good your local one would be.
@@retroshinobii thanks for the reply, I will start looking
I bought it for $19.99 used at GameStop your being charged $69.99 didn’t know they increased the price of Godzilla I no longer play it sucked
Enjoyed the video man! I liked the PS2 without the power brick, think I've seen them in the wild but they've been so beaten up I didn't even pick one up to look at it :(
Let's see some live garage sale footage.
Coming soon!
I just got into collecting old video game stuff myself any tips and tricks
Awesome man! Some tips from me, not knowing the extent of your knowledge, is to watch a good bit of content about collecting to learn more about what things are worth (can also go to game stores and see what they’re listing stuff for), go to garage sales and ask if they have games, even if they say no at first list a few systems you’re interested in, sometimes they aren’t thinking about certain stuff when you say video games generally. Make sure games are in cases at the sale, make sure everything works if you can before you buy, i’ve been burned so many times on that last one haha, there’s a lot more - maybe I’ll make a dedicated video about this! Thanks for your comment :)
Great channel!
Dude! Last video I watched of yours was probably 10 years ago! That’s funny.
Haha welcome back!
Man, you were just a kid when I remember running into you and your dad at the Midwest Gaming Classic. Back when games were cheap or at least cheaper. Good to see you’re still passionate about the hobby.
Hey man! Long time no see! Retro games are definitely more expensive nowadays, but you can still find good deals if you keep at it long enough. Thanks for checking out some of my new content, time flies haha
DUDE! How did you find Godzilla. I’ve been searching for it for about a month now. I may just drop the 150 (from a source)
Just got lucky!! I feel sorry for the guy who traded it into gamestop 😂
150 is for the ps3 vers, the ps4 is now at 195 at cex
you should adjust your audio a little, volume up on you talking, the difference between the intro and you talking is too big, otherwise a interesting video, greetings martin -norway
Thank you for the comment! I’m currently saving up for a lav mic so that the audio is better quality and volume. I appreciate the feedback :)
i regret selling mine for $100 just to get a shitty ps4 lol
PS3 Don’t clean it keep it like as it is , I cleaned mine and it died 😢
😩
Actually ,you have to clean and put a new thermal paste to rsx and gpu. It means that you didn,t clean or did take care of it very well if this happens to you, a week a ago, my backwards compatibility ps3 was louad as fuck until I decided to cleaned it and put a new thermal paste mx-4 and after I did that,my ps3 was even silenced than my ps4 pro,no joke
@@sebisimpsons6043 exactly that what happened to me , I disassembled it cleaned every part and put it back together, it’s only giving me a red light with now sound, maybe I’ll check it later.
@@khalafalhameli3579 yea ,probaly something really happen, again probaly you didn,t cleaned very well ,or you put to much thermal paste or to less, you gotta be very carefull with these old ps3 models cause if you don,t pay attention, is not gonna end very well
@@sebisimpsons6043 maybe, thanks for your advice, I’ll do my best.
Saturn score was the most interesting to me and I noticed its the original model and the way I can tell is the oval shaped buttons. Wipeout is one of my favorite games also. I have both models but the model 1 is my favorite. The 2600 is a nice score too. Alot of great classic 2600 games is to be had there.
Nice haul,That Dino is HUGE!
tough vid 🔥🔥
Love the name. Definitely subscribing 😊
Subscribed! Also what are the small cabinet looking things to the right of you? The orange and green little things
Thanks! I appreciate it :) They’re old tabletop arcade machines (1980-1983) of frogger (green) donkey kong junior (orange) and pacman (probably covered by me in frame). I’ll show them off for a bit in the video I upload next monday! Thanks for the comment :)
Got a ps2 9000 yesterday! ps2’s sell fast at my local pawn shop I was lucky to finally find one after months 🎉
Congrats!
I would keep silent hill 2 it’s a legendary game!
Need to get one of these
Even though they’re the final batch produced, the PS2 in general sold well enough to have lasted longer than anticipated, and finding a 90k isn’t at all difficult.
Damn I had one but had to sell it a few years back to pay some rent
70000 slim is much rarer they only made a few of them. it's the only slim model with the original IO processor so it doesn't have compatibility issues with certain games(like Revenge of the flying dutchman iirc) even if it's still a crappy model
Worked at video game stores for decades and during this systems release its not what id call rare but its the more rare model the original fat ps2 is becoming rare to find a working model I've bought and sold thousands of PS2 systems and this system was seen far less than the others so hes not wrong exactly not rare but more rare than some
Is it rare? I don't think so? I have one still sealed in the box when walmart was dumping them for $50 (canadian) as the PS3 was on store shelves. I bought one because .. hey - fiddy bux for a PS2 console was less than you could buy PS3 games for, so I thought why not.
In my opinion it’s definitely more rare than the standard ps2 slim or a ps2 fat… I’ve seen plenty of both of those but this is the first 900xx model that i’ve found. That’s pretty cool, awesome pick up!
I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but this is not rare at all, these are the FINAL run / production models of the PS2 Slim and actually had the longest production run of any PS2/PS2 Slim variant of >6-years (the 900xx model was introduced late 2007 and was in production through to 2013 when the PS2 production ended)
A lot of people have been commenting this! I made the assumption it was rare because i’ve never seen one in my ~9 years of video game buying/selling/collecting. Maybe they’re just rare in my area 😅 Thank you for teaching me about it!
this guy has the worst ps2 his roomate got the better one
those are pretty common in latin america at least, i have like 3 of them around my house haha also pretty cheap
I live in Brazil and these are pretty common here. I actually have two: the 90006 and the 90010.
SHCP 9000 series is pretty common, tf
nah its not rare dude...very common model
Not rare but not common to find a working one that doesn't look like it's been skipped across a parking lot
I was about to comment that
what's the date code on the back?
9C
I still have mine
This variant is very common in Brazil, since the longevity of PS2 here were expanded due to economics for the majority of the people.
have 4 of these at my job, I work at a gamestore we have all the variants of the PS2 Slim there
no
I see this model come in for repair a lot.. I got one in my queue right now. Its not a very good model.. turning it into a mini makes it way better.
I got one of these and want to turn it into a ps2 mini really bad. Just haven't got around to it yet. The buttons suck on this version. I prefer the slim to the fat and this is the worst one.
I would say my biggest issue with this model is how hard it is to push in the buttons haha
I just got me one a week ago
this variant is pretty common in europe, plus, its one of the worst models for two things: first: the power supply is inside the console, leading it to some overheat, and its the final model with fully emulated PS1 games (vs partially, previously).
emulation is better in this case because it can play every ps1 game and donesn't have any of the errors the previous slims had. Never had problems with overheating either. Just keep it flat and free of dust. maybe the euro ones are worse 🤷♂️ mine has been going strong for 20 years and I have been playing it every day lately
mine never overheated, it has the best lasers out of all the models too so i wouldn't say it's the worst
i just checked the date code on mine its actually from 2010 so its pretty new relatively speaking 😆
The 90001 model I had ran cooler than the 75001 model I have now. I opened both of them and cleaned the dust out too.
@@SevenCompleted It can't play every PS1 game though, there is a list of incompatible games because it uses emulation.
those are super common in europe
In Brazil too.
