Preparing For Exposure- 5:17 Exposure For The First Time- 6:26 Challenge Catastrophic Belief- 9:44 Testing Catastrophic Belief- 10:38 Two Months After Treatment: 11:37
I have fear of snakes and spiders. I have bought some tarantulas spiderlings and even let one walk on my hand without freaking out. Now I want to overcome snake phobia. Not sure I want one as a pet though.
I have the same fear by in terms of speed , if i drive 120 KM per hour a car or bike i feel ok but if someone else is driving just on 60 I feel heart attack
For anyone who’s scared of snakes, but wants to try to get over it, I recommend ball pythons. They’re probably the most friendly snakes. Very cute and sweet.
Ok, this is pushing the rational concept of Fear way too far. I think most of us are afraid of snakes; we do not usually live with snakes, we do not go to the stores having to interact with snakes all over the ramen aisles. We do not need to learn how to eliminate this kind of fear; something pragmatic, please!
This is a very intrepid woman. Many snake-phobics would state categorically that there is no way they could ever overcome their fear of snakes. As long as they have that attitude, they are probably right.
Being both an addiction counselor and a snake handler I find this interesting. How can I get a job doing this? My albino ball python "Snowball" is an amazing ambassador animal to introduce to people who don't like snakes.
Give me a snake any day.. what I fear is Palmetto bugs. And they fly too! They don't bite or hurt you so I think the main fear is #1 they are absolutely disgusting looking #2 they tend to pop up out of nowhere and run and they run and hide FAST. and if they don't run they will fly right at you!!!!!!! making a sound no less. So how in the Hell do I get over this.
Great progress!!! I’d suggest a follow up alone with the snake without the therapist in the room.
Mariam!!! So proud of you!!

Great therapy. I am one of those who need it for snakes and mice. I was lifting up my feet and squeezing myself to one corner while watching this.
Oh man, I started crying. This is so beautiful.

I love the simple yet effective idea from the doctor
Once held one when I was drunk and then after that had nightmares for weeks so one day exposure is not enough
When do Jake The Snake and Damien come in?

i can’t look at them for too long or i’ll start itching

what makes me so sad watching this is knowing this is from like 2002/7 and it looks like another century. I don't want to feel aging

That's what I did to get over my fear. Went from intense fear to no fear within 4 months. I have 4 ball pythons now.
I like snakes, I just get a little nervous around them. Same with sharks and spiders.
