    Loved this series back in the day; wish they would've continued with it. Always fun finding these books on shelves while thrifting!

      I was obsessed with this series as a kid, but they weren't available in stores at that point, so some of them took over a decade to track down, but I was committed!! Honestly though... I understand why they ended it, especially since they were supposed to be inspired by real people, but the books were keeping them at that same age. They couldn't do that forever, and there was a need to grow up. And the other series that followed was good to. But I don't think the ending was handled well, I definitely believe it could've been done better. Like some kind of warning or closing plot... Definitely expecting too much for the type of series it was, but I think the way it was just abruptly cut off was a disservice to the fans

    Thank you very much I was looking for a gift for a dear friend of mines' birthday. We've got similar taste in art and as soon as I heard the songs of the musical portrayal I thought of her, but I really needed to know if the novel was good as much or even more, and I'm happy to know you think It's beautifully written. Thank you very much! I really enjoyed your review!

      I'm so glad to hear it was helpful! I really enjoyed the book, the writing was very pretty and poetic a lot of the time, and there were a few references to her work early in the book I think. It is very dark, but definitely worth it for the right audience. I hope (if you get it) your friend enjoys it!

      figuring this stuff out can be a long and complicated journey, and sometimes we are never fully sure... but it is good to have words and reassurance and acknowledgement that others share similar experiences I still (at 26) initially struggle to determine if I have a crush on someone, or if it is simply a combination of something different... (and outside people charging in with their opinions does not help)

    I love your hoodie!!! Also I've really been meaning to read Mercury and Me. Have you read The Darkness Outside Us? It's more romance-centered than I usually like, but the fact that it also really leaned into sci-fi and just some more speculative elements really saved it for me

    this makes me so happy, I feel like greyromantic is something that people don't like to acknowledge and is something that a lot of people erase in their vocabulary and replace it with something more well know such as demiromantic or aromantic. I'm so proud of you, I just realized I was greyromantic not long before this, still kind of trying to accept it but I'm happy with myself🤪🖤💚

    I'm the "Attracted to only one person at a time" type. I've only had 5 crushes throughout my entire life and I've never had multiple crushes at one time. I'm also Gyneromantic on top of that (so I've only been attracted to feminine Identifying/appearing people on top of it)

    • @laurenvandenbosch4051
      @laurenvandenbosch4051 2 роки тому

      Same! I thought I was alloromantic but maybe I’m greyromantic…

    • @WillowLemmons
      @WillowLemmons 2 роки тому

      @@laurenvandenbosch4051 Yeah my attraction has changed a little bit since then I wouldn't really describe it as "one person at a time" anymore but it's still super infrequent to the point of practically being that. I also don't Identify what I'm calling my "Secondary orientation" for lack of a better term as Gyneromantic, instead I now identify as Finromantic as it's not really the gender identity of woman that I'm attracted to more so the presentation of a woman (So like now I'd be willing to be with both women and enbies as long as said enbies are woman presenting.) I've been doing some introspection recently and maybe sometime in the future I might not Identify as greyromantic and instead Identify as something else on the aro spectrum but right now the label of grayromantic seems to fit best to describe this weird nebulous blob of romantic attraction I experience.

  • @alinanymus6830

    I have crushes but when I ask them out or they ask me I loose feelings. And I was never in love and can’t imagine being but sometimes I like the idea of romantic. Is this grey romantic?

    • @jakegreyxx
      @jakegreyxx 3 роки тому

      Hey! Sorry for the late response. That sounds a bit like you could be Lithromantic. That's another term under the aromantic label/umbrella. Someone who is lithromantic may experience romantic attraction and enjoy the idea of being in a relationship, but only in theory. They often don't need their romantic feelings towards someone to be reciprocated, and can even lose those feelings if they are reciprocated or once they find themselves in a relationship. There are a few different sub-labels on the aromantic spectrum, but from what you've described it sounds like this might be one to look into. Either way, it definitely sounds like you're on the aromantic spectrum! Hope this helps!

    • @alinanymus6830
      @alinanymus6830 3 роки тому

      @@jakegreyxx yes, thank you! I’ll think about it but I don’t need an exact label 🙃 it is enough for me to know that I’m on the aro spectrum. But I’ll definitely read about Lithoromantic 👍🏻

    I've had a few crushes in my life but it was always so hard for me to get romantically flustered by my own thoughts or reading x readers (don't judge me ._.). I can see the emotional importance of relationships, but find it difficult the draw the line between romantic and platonic sometimes. I've about come to the acceptance that I'm grayromantic. I have also never had a crush on someone I actually know as a person or physically, as there's never been a moment to spark anything :\

Just because we fall into the group doesn't mean our content has to be focused on that. We all have other things to us than just that. I kind of stopped. I do not support gay pride month. If humans don't support straight pride then why should we support gay pride?

    • @jakegreyxx
      @jakegreyxx 6 років тому

      It's an entirely different situation. If the queer community already had the same rights that cishet people do, then there wouldn't be a need for it. The problem is that cishet people have rights and privileges that many queer people do not. And you know what? It's totally fine if you don't support pride month, but that doesn't mean you have to go and tell off those that do. (Not saying you are one of those people, but as a general point)

      Jake Grey I am not judging gay people, in fact, my sister Chloe has a girlfriend and also does not support gay pride because of this. And can you elaborate on some privelages that straights have that gays don't get?

      Jake Grey You do know that straight people can go through all these things as well? Except the coming out thing. That is because the majoroty is straight so people assume you're straight at birth unless you come out.

      Jake Grey btw please don't bring trans people in this, that's off topic rambling.

      Jake Grey and colour. Don't bring in colour. I just spotted that. If you think it's so important to mention race just to say you respect everyone makes you -in a way- racist.

    Hey Jake! So a few weeks ago I was talking to a friend about the romantic spectrum and I was telling her about my romantic experiences and we've both figured out that I am a Greyromantic.I never knew how to describe it or that what I was feeling ever had a name so I am so glad I was able to find your video about this.I would really like to talk to you about this because I am sort of new to this so I hope we can message each other! Thank you!

    Sports teams. Sports teams should not be forced into children. Especially in families where the parents have different teams. I had a very confused early childhood because my dad would tell me I was a Geelong supporter. And then my mum would get upset, and tell me I was an Essendon supporter. Which would then upset my dad. And so the cycle continued, and I will never know which team I originally supported. I realise of course that this is nowhere near as bad as the stuff you mentioned though.

      I was actually thinking about that at one point. I know relative groups where every person will support a different team and joke about it, but I also know some that get pretty aggressive and defensive about it. Like... it's sport, not the end of the world

    It’s funny you mention professional huggers. Not a thing exactly. But there are people who organise “hug parties” or “cuddle parties” which is all about helping people overcome their fear of being touched, if they want to overcome that fear of course. It’s also a way for people to learn about consent. So I guess running those things is kinda close to being a professional hugger.
