Hi Guys! This was my experience, good & bad, working for A&F Stores. The main thing I forgot to mention in my video was that although I love the aspiration-themed 90's brand, I was hugely disappointed at how employees were treated. Young adults and high school aged kids were expected to spend their entire paycheck on ever-changing uniforms. While I love the uniform standard look, these things s...

    Good video - I can't believe so many fragrances are being discontinued from there. Really miss the old style and product.

    Have just started watching this video, kind of defeated with the new brand/Abercrombie as it is woke as others said - no more Iconic builds. Really I guess part of my dream is bringing that back, as when I looked at the new website earlier this week, I saw someone wearing black sunglasses and immediately clicked away. Before the babes wore aviators very Preppy smh. Getting reported a ton by the woke mobs on other platforms - they hate everything Preppy. I don't like the Versace mainstream world, but That World Iconic - can only imagine what Mike went through with them - I never want to give up on that. I said The Brand has lost It's S--L as We have nothing left of Old Brand today. Good video - it is not very relevant to me, but you were an outstanding manager for The Brand I am sure. Brand is so bad now, We have bowed down to the woke not run The Industry - I can't get onboard with it at all anything of it.

    Jeffries did not build this company from the ground up. It had a history prior to his remaking of it. He turned it into a quite sexy young brand to financial success for a time, but creepy. And the music and vibe in those stores back in the heyday? So overwhelmingly annoying.

  • @Sy1mmxxiv
    @Sy1mmxxiv Місяць тому

    ‘It’s not who they market to.’ I am sure you’re a nice guy simply by the sincerity of your post. However, that one line in your post is the very reason for the claims of discrimination. I Ioved the marketing and the stores during the 2000’s. It was incredible and it was exciting. The store on 5Th Avenue NYC 2006 was the first one I visited and the overly patronised store in London, Mayfair was my last 2009. It was marketed at a certain… everything! Age, size, gender niche, even race was the focus! The quality in the clothing was evident. Like every fun night club… it has its’s day… because that is exactly how one felt going into the stores… the lighting, the music, the fragrance… the ‘models’! Even their website at the time… I could be anywhere in the world and able to listen to the music being played at the store in NYC. Purchasing online… the logo Moose would run across the top of the screen and let you know it had dropped off your item in the basket. As shallow as they wish to claim it to be… we all bought into it because it was new and exciting… it’s time was then… thanks for posting… cheers Steve

    Good video and nice house - guessing you have a really good career. You don't seem like a Versace guy like me - I am not into blazers or the forbidden color, really just like The Old Hollister Style. Miss when we were just our own Brand; yes agreed, Apple is own brand like arrogant and high-end; you look like you are doing really well in life with your place; agreed, see other brands that only have stick-figures today in their fashion shows, everyone wants curves today or will hate you. Good video.

    • @phillyblaze777
      @phillyblaze777 Місяць тому

      - Thanks! I rarely wear the forbidden color, hardly ever. Only this time because I happen to like that shirt - it's actually from A&F (the new boring version for woke people) !!! And I don't have a problem with curves or plus-size models, I just don't think they should be mandatory or else you get cancelled. Brands have $h*t to sell and there is space for everyone somewhere.

    • @curtschannel4

      @@phillyblaze777 Yes, agreed. That is very us with only dark navy blue - yes, now it is fast fashion or nothing, so I will have to buy the FF stuff as I don't wear other brands and don't get fragrances because of severe health issues. Yeah, they aren't throwing out their playbook as it is working - that is what they said a few months ago, but have really lost who we are with everything; 1 ex fashion designer there always calls them out on it being like thrift stores Primark I think, she knows fashion really well and she calls the product not environmentally friendly at all; really miss that particular look we had, I mean some models are pretty/attractive today but it is more mainstream, there is a certain Look we had/very us, wish they would have done/kept Waspy Model for Website Magazines etc..., then diverse more in stores like 2013-2012 and the website was outstanding both of those years 0 Personality with that coloring scheme; with A&F, I hate business-like as in general probably not a bad business move (think Fran says people 30as 40s want business as can't wear preppy to work etc...), but yeah not us at all (Preppy), should make A&F preppy more sweaters and Hollister more preppyish not IVY but OC. I don't like the style today - it is not us. Like Apple, other branded phones are nice, but Apple far prettier stands out exclusive more expensive; our Brand before was like this that 'Look', today in general at least some models attractive, but really missing that/our superficial look. Mike was/is very creative: jocks mixed with (someone who worked predominantly at A&F said this not me) signature ga-/ga- nightclub undertone as yeah guys-heavy, loved it.

    Good video, really sad what The Brand is today as complete opposite - forbidden color, friends with everyone, the whole Persona of The Brand. Just take The Lifestyle - the foods at Home Office very mainstream today as kind of average. I am really sold on The Old Abercrombie - Very Pricate Only Us, very me. I liked being a model because the customers would ask me to try clothes/shirts on as wanted for their son. Miss Mike J - His Brand. Really want to cry hearing you talk about The Old Abercrombie - very 'everyone' as before very preppyish & preppy. I wanted to be a VM Manager as could learn everything about The Store Design & Layout (today mainstream structure like everywhere else). We are not Plastic anymore - Mike made himself for The Brand (Toned Plastic Build), liked The Brand. Yeah people at work would go to amusement parks and I wouldn't but loved working with them, very no personality no hobbies etc... I just loved being there The Lighting & Style. Wish That World would become Reality again - I am not onboard with the new A&F at all, We have lost Our So-l as a Brand as everything very mainstream foods eaten at Home Office just everything is. @@NJRangerGeorge- whenever I was the closing manager, I would "BOMB" the store with that spray. I would tell everyone to take a bottle and spray everything, almost to the point it was too much! And then close the doors so it was perfect the next morning ☺

      I had a great experience as well! It's very interesting to see and hear from others how polarizing it can be for many.

      @@phillyblaze777 it is my friend glad we got to experience something that we enjoyed and will cherish for the rest of our lives. At times I think back at the memories and it puts a smile on my face great friends co workers and family and we are part of the A&F community always.

      @@NJRangerGeorge- YES! I love that! I still have closets full of A&F clothes (Hollister too when it used to be high quality, their merch is garbage now). It definitely was a badge of honor to be one of the Abercrombie uniformed staff members and walk through the mall with co-workers knowing that we were all "special" and chosen for being awesome. Today's "woke" culture really sucks in my eyes and people need to relax and live and let live. If you don't like something, don't engage in it is my opinion. I miss the old A&F - it was so unique and such a fun experience as an employee and as a customer!

      @@phillyblaze777 definitely quality is not the same the feel of material the thickness of material is different now and where its made . yes you are right we got chosen for a reason and appreciated also. Yes defiantly this society we live in is getting worse but only thing we can do is focus on our life and goals and live life doing what we love and spreading love to the people we care about. Glad I found your channel and glad to meet another Abercrombie family member.

    It’s interesting . No offense but from an objective stand point , you’re an average looking white male but since you’re white , you’re already seen as attractive especially compared to all the minorities so it was easy for you to stay at your job and get hired. Without even knowing it , you fed into the racism that was A&F through validation of being attractive when really you were being validated for being white

    Having worked at A&F ; does it feel weird having minorities work there or do you think it’s lost it’s edge since it’s not only white people working there?

      I definitely don't mind that they are more inclusive now in their hiring practices. I just don't like how boring they have made their stores and clothes look and feel - all the branding is gone. It's like stepping into an H&M.
