Opening The Fallout Shelter
Переглядів 1973 роки тому
This is the opening of the 1961 steel fallout shelter I discovered beneath my front lawn in May 2020. Neither I nor the previous owners had any idea it existed until some dead shrubbery was removed that spring. This is what we found.

After 41 years, the family-owned and operated McCabe's Pub will welcome guests for its final dining services in January 2024. Opened in 1982 by John and Jo Dean, McCabe's was named after the nearby city-owned golf course, a moniker that was recognizable to most locals outside of the Sylvan Park neighborhood.
❤
We went to see Teddy, live, at Connolly’s of Leap. Absolutely brilliant! A lovely night.
I'll listen to anything that has Teddy Thompson singing....
Superb… such a fine memory
Loved Richard's music forever. Zara has such a lovely voice!
The world is missing out on one of the best vocalists in the past 20 years. Teddy's great!
love this show. Just saw Teddy in Bath UK. Love his new country album and all his music!
Live music trumps the recordings sometimes
😊
such a beautiful singer - what a voice
Love it, Rachelle. Regards from Norway, and a fellow accordion-player <3
I love Just Between You and Me, and just keep playing it over and over again. I love how it's DRENCHED in steel guitar...and I love everything else about it, too.
Beautiful!
Jenni's an old friend. So good to hear her singing again after so many years, and Teddy's just great as well. What a great combo!! And David Mansfield and the band....just captures the ambience and feels of those old country records! Thanks everyone for a lovely session! Dig, DmGrk
Love it! I always loved her voice, saw her many times when living in NYC. Thank you..
Makes the prospect of The Apocalypse a little more liveable.
I just heard that I am related to Teddy. I play guitar also but camera shy. Great job family. We have lots of music in the family. Dominic Lali of Big Gigantic who plays sax is my cousin
Pete from Blackpool UK - nice to here you Teddy.
Catherine has been my favorite singer for the last few years (and there's still no new one in sight). UA-cam clearly knows me too well, but I'm grateful nonetheless.

Lovely harmony, roots folk.
Think Richard's quirky British humour is completely lost on the slightly bewilded host!
Bewildered and annoying. Great player, though, even if he overplays.
Definitely.....this was a very good Covid tonic!!!! Quite literally. A great blessing!
Stellar!
I love this so much!
This is really great, fantastic even. Love it! Only two songs in as I type this.
Well....this is fun as Hell! Excellent job you all. I love what one chord can do.
I thought I would check this out before making my final decision about whether to attend one of their upcoming concerts. I saw Teddy Thompson and just bought the ticket and just recently discovered it would be country covers. Any other hearing-impaired listeners out there keep "swearing" they are repeatedly hearing a profane word?
Have been listening in rapt awe to Laura Cantrell for two decades and it is incandescently fabulous to hear her back on such superlative form. Real talent, like sorrow, floats.
I'd like him to gather these girls he wrote about and see them talk about him and vice versa. this seems like the perfect show.
Marvelous, wonderful, stunning, awesome, breathtaking !
Got obsessed with 80s alternative as a kid, only to find that a third of my favorite artists were dead. Which really affects their performance. So I’m thrilled to see Crenshaw alive, well, and making music.
He’s as great as ever however, it seems his daughter’s voice is kind of flat.😳
🤣Probably she'd be flattered, he might think 'do I look old enough to have a 60-year old daughter?' She's his partner.
His daughter sings kind of flat…😳
There's nothing wrong with her pitch. And it's his partner, not his daughter.
No she doesn't
A million thanks to Rolling Stones and New Noices. They introduced me to many hidden gems, Teddy Thompson is one of them. Gosh, damn it - I love his voice so, so much. Ben Howard and he are my go-to-singers whenever I read a good book.
Teddy is criminally underrated
Teddy Thompson one of the most underrated singers ever .What a voice . WOW.!!!
Love this!
Have been a fan of Teddy's since I first heard In My Arms and was blown away by the music, the lyrics and his magical voice.....this is just brilliant...
Maria Muldaur’s (Midnight at the Oasis) daughter I believe …………..
Would Jenni Muldaur be any relation to Maria Muldaur? 'Cause Maria's sure got great pipes! [Edit: sure enough, I just looked it up, and she's the daughter of Geoff and Maria Muldaur.] I have a book of quotes from rock musicians where Maria is quoted as saying "I'll still want to be a singer long after I'm not so hot to look at anymore". I like her attitude. Her daughter can sing too; the apple definitely didn't fall far from the tree!
Yes, only child.
@@mannyvision , I've seen Maria sing 3 or 4 times in past decades; have fond memories of those shows. The first time, she was headlining an outdoor show that drew 10K people, the second time was a few years later in a small club and there were maybe 30 people in the audience. The public is fickle, and sometimes downright dumb, always ready to move on to the next thing ---- which unfortunately was shallow pop music and MTV eye-candy. I mostly hated the Eighties! On the plus side, the 80's was when I discovered people like Ry Cooder, David Lindley, John Hiatt and Richard Thompson, so even a dark-cloud decade has an occasional silver lining!
A new direction for two offspring of folk-rock royalty.
I Love this! David Mansfield is so talented!
Thank you for your channel. My kid Zack Byrd is in a band, Badger Creek. On FB too. I know great guitar players. We played music our whole lives. So impressed by your mucianship on so many instruments%. Zack is in DC working as a CPA for the VA. Zack wrote John Crow, Also love Darryl Scott. God bless the passing of Tony Rice and John Prine.
Small world - Jenni and David- this is great!
"I'm part of the problem, I acknowledge that." Oh, Teddy.
gorgeous stuff
It was cool seeing Marshall on a 12 string!
excellent .. pity about the covid dialogue.
excellent channel, top content.
