How to install Counteract tire balancing beads in a Harley Davidson wheel. We show you three installation methods. These are similar in concept to ceramic beads, the most common ceramic brand name is Dynabeads. The Counteract brand is made of glass rather than ceramic and we feel they have some advantages. Among those are that there isn't any internal tire wear that can sometimes occur with cer...

    Glass beads are a really bad idea. Firstly, they weigh less, so you need more. Secondly, they are about _60% less durable_ than ceramic, quickly (20K miles) becoming dust, which not only stops the balancing action from working, but are a _huge health issue_ later, when changing the tire, if breathed in.

    Every time o see someone with a torq wrench it amazes me that they go over the bolts twice. When you do that you just torqued more. Torque the bolts once a done. Pay attention to what you did.

    Got 'er done tonight (actually early this morning - it's 2am) and the video helped me out. I went with Bel Ray 5wt. fork oil, and the old fluid was nasty on my '99 FLH. I already had the Mity Vac for brake bleeding jobs, so it was nice not having to buy another tool for a change.

    Thanks for uploading but 1 question, On the inner wheel bearing spacers. Did you install the rear one? I didn't see you install that on the wheel while you were installing the outer bearings I was watching that inner bearing still on the bench.

    You use the same method I used on my Kawasaki Voyager, I acquired these same shocks to improve my Sporters ride, Q: do you find 5W adequate or would you use the 7 or 10W oils? I expect to be riding solo mostly, 5W seems adequate but 7W may give me a better range.

    They most certainly do touch inside of tire. They press against tire with centrifugal force. You do not know what you're doing. You're giving wrong instructions.

    It would be fast to use stick on weights than trying to push beads through the valve stem.

    Just because the bearing has no gap between it and the internal spacer, doesn't mean they are centered with equal distance between them and the wheel hub edge on boths sides......and if not, when you mount the wheel, fabbing and installing external spacers while trying to keep the rotors centered in the calipers will be quite hellish.

    How much and what kind of oil can I put in each shock absorber?

    • @Renassainceman
      @Renassainceman 2 роки тому

      10 oz. in each rear shock. Harley Davidson sells fork oil and you can get it in two weights, std. and heavy. This amounts to about 5 wt. and 10 wt. For even higher viscosity you can use ATF. But for the rear shocks that's probably going to reduce rebound to nil, so start out with 5 and see how you like it first. If you have an older Harley, like my wife's 2001 Road King Police, the front forks also use air over oil, but with a drain in the bottom it's even easier to drain the oil and replace it. Simply let the pressure force the oil out, and use the mighty vac to pull a vacuum from the top to draw fresh oil from the drain in the bottom of the fork. I think there is a youtube video somewhere demonstrating this procedure. Good Luck.

    Use the wait of bike to flatten the tire , then raise the bike with a jack and let the tire suck the beads in . No need for all that electric nonsense ,,,sheese
