I've heard similar renditions (John Williams, and I believe even Barrios himself with this ancient recording). This version is quite different from mine. The note durations, and the intro (harmonics-part) are the obvious differences. Do you know if there are two distinct versions? I used the score sheets from the yellow Zen-On books. You played it very beautifully ;-) . Bravo!

To play it "somehow" is not too difficult, but to play it cleanly, and metered is something entirely different. And I agree, that this piece is overplayed. For practice i would prefer spruce, it's just a good feeling for me the sound is soft and the tone goes straight to my ears and to my heart ❤ _ the sound of cedar seems to be '' dancing a little '' and do its own thing before i hear it ?? If that makes sense. The tone is '' dressed fancy '' or something like that ?? 😊 I like it but for everyday use i am more a spruce type of gal. 🫶 Thank you for sharing it was very relaxing and pleasant to listen to 🫶🤗
