@@ajaypandharipande1067 Remaining with the P900 is a good decision if lower camera weight and personal mobility is a factor and if one is fine with HD videos. Even the photo quality of both cameras are similar- ie a 3-5% difference. P1000 is a step up for the 50% extra optical zoom and seemingly slightly better dynamic range, but the stabilization does seem a bit wobbly as you go towards the telephoto end, because of weight of the camera and a longer zoom barrel. The P1000 has couple of other advantages, one is the 4k filming ability and the other is a better bigger e-Viewfinder. So if carrying a bigger camera is ok and if a tripod/monopod is handy and is generally anyway used, and the added zoom is considered important, then can consider the P1000, otherwise the P900 is already quite versatile and capable camera. If a camera was requiring for filming wildlife which is closer than birds or for good quality video, then the suggestion would be Sony RX10iv with its 1 inch sensor, build quality, and almost pro level delivery, but should be almost 40k more than a P1000 in terms of price. The best way to ascertain is to request the Nikon sales consultant to meet you at a landmark that works for both of you'll, and which has birds as November is a good season for this. Then simultaneously use your own P900 and the P1000 which the sales consultant is carrying. take photos and videos of the same subject at various telephoto levels using your own memory cards on both cameras. Once you are satisfied that you have covered enough ground for a comparison including the EVF advantage, weight, grip etc, take the results back to your space and ascertain the results from both cameras for image quality, ease of use, dynamic range, stability and other criteria. Can also go to a Nikon gallery/store and take shots from there from a demo unit. hope this helps.
