Our Eddy Current Model
In this project, we'll demonstrate the principles of Eddy Currents using simple materials:
* Materials:
* Ice cream sticks
* Empty cold drink cans (aluminum)
* Flower making wire
* Super glue
* Cotton
* Cardboard
* 6-volt DC motor
* 9-volt battery
* Switch
* Battery connector
* Wires
* Round magnet
* Colorful pastel sheets
* Hot glue gun
* Pens and markers
* Construction:
* Base: Construct a sturdy base using cardboard.
* Motor Mount: Create a platform to securely mount the 6-volt DC motor on the base.
* Rotating Shaft: Attach a wooden dowel or a sturdy piece of wire to the motor shaft.
* Aluminum cans use
* Balancing and Support: Carefully balance the aluminum cans on the rotating shaft.
* Magnetic Field: Place a strong magnet on the base, positioned to interact with the rotating aluminum cans
* Power Supply: Connect the motor to the 9-volt battery using the switch and battery connector.
