Exactly this, even if you stay outside walking around like that for more than 10 minutes would make you way too hot. Just have a well made pair of jeans or bottoms and a good top/jumper then all you need is a coat over the top. Honestly most of the time you can wear your regular clothes with a good quality coat over the top. And just add thick socks, gloves and a scarf, maybe a hat or oven mitts as well. But unless youre in a snow blizzard i cant imagine this many layers being comfortable

@_Hollie_ I corrected my post that I typed because of aerophagia keeping me awake. What about the hell of indoor heated shopping malls in the winter?! The most important thing is to keep your core warm. And layering in away that you can remove layers without stripping. For example I fold a scarf in a triangle and fold it over my shoulders like Dickensian working class woman, under my topcoat. If the weather flip-flops like the Dutch weather does, I can pull out the scarf without even opening my coat and put it in my bag until the weather flops again😄

@@sparklemotion8377 i do exactly the same thing as UK weather is known for changing quite frequently. The worst for me would be having this many layers on and then being forced to carry around multiple items from place to place because wearing them would make me far too hot. A scalf/shawl and a decent coat will be plenty to keep you warm, especially once you start moving. The scalf/shawl can also be easily removed and placed in a bag as it is not heavy. I feel it is much better to wear less layers where possible as it is much easier and more comfortable to be too cold and warm yourself up, than it is to be too hot and trying to cool yourself off.

@abeerkhakwani Try wider pants. If the clothes are all too tight, it doesn't even do anything, in my experience. I remember in high school a teacher explaining about warm air between your clothes when he was explaining that keeping your coat on in class will cause you to be cold outside....or something
