Plot Summary:

If its based off face value then yea everyone assumed he was a jerk abusing a woman for being poor. That's why the lady has to explain it was all an act to get money for the kid. You hear someone raped a girl you want to murder them on the spot, no? Then there's the "statutory" or rule that if one is 18 & one is 17, even if their birthdays are just months apart unless there's parent consent it doesn't matter if they graduate high school the same week & go off to college, they can't be intimate or the older one goes to jail.
